âYou can borrow my car only if you take it for a car wash afterwards. Thatâs my only rule. My keys are in my jacket by the door but yes, Iâm making breakfast. Emmett is going to be my sous chef and you and your sister can set the kitchen table. Is Navid up yet?â Jupiter stifled a laugh at Emmett and Apolloâs interaction, letting them figure it out before she grabbed Emmettâs hand to pull him further into the kitchen with her. âAlright, Iâm gonna start you on cutting up some veggies. Think you can handle it?â
âDeal. Iâll wash it.â He paused at the mention of breakfast and looked over at his mom. âAre you gonna make french toast?â When she nodded he smiled and kicked his shoes back off before taking off his jacket. âCool, cool, yeah, I got you man,â he said, trying to not be as awkward as Athena gave him a look from the counter. He didnât know how his sister managed to keep her cool better than him but he didnât want her to show him up so he made everyone a cup of coffee, handing Emmett his first. âUh so uh, whatâd you guys get up to last night?â

Though the oddness of the dynamic didn't bother him, he still was getting a grasp on exactly how to navigate it just yet either, mostly he was careful not to try and come off as if he were a sort of father figure, positive nobody wanted that, but he would get there no doubt, if everyone were willing to try. "Thank you." He told Apollo as he took the warm liquid and took a sip before putting it down to start cutting vegetables, and the scene, if Emmett were to step on the outside and looked in felt more like a normal family breakfast than he'd ever experienced up until he met Casey, and even that was more chaotic than this. "We went to a book launch for one of Jupiter's friends and then out for dinner and drinks with him and his boyfriend. It was fun, lot of conversation topics about literature that went right over my head. What about you guys, anything noteworthy?"
