Why does the job require you to stay in Austin? You might be happier getting out of Texas.

My company’s corporate office, where I work now, is based in Austin, and my new job is in the Austin regional office, so I kinda have to stay here just to be convenient to the office, but I could move to another city in Texas if I wanted.

But also a condition of employment with my company is that everyone has to reside in the state of Texas bc the company was created by the state and so while it doesn’t have any official ties to the state anymore it continues some of the policies, like only employing Texas residents.

Trying to figure out how to date someone (a theater grad student at UT Austin) who knows he is moving back to New York/New England when he graduates next year and is hung up on the fact that I won’t be moving with him (he expressed that a partner moving with him would be ideal on the first date but I’ve also just accepted a job that requires I be in Austin for at least two more years)

Well shit! I just got a new job! It’s with my current company but it’s in a different department. It doesn’t start until June because it’s part of a training program that only happens in the summer but it is an $11,000 raise which really is the best part lmao

my friends are planning a camping weekend at a friends house bc he has a bunch of land and it would be fun but if I go it’ll be the third weekend in a row I’d be out of town and that seems kinda exhausting to me but I also don’t wanna miss out
