(Sorry if the previous ask was rude, just wary after what happened to the HSR leaks server. Take care of yourselves!)
That's completely understandable. I also apologize if I came off short in my previous message--we've received a lot of doomposting flak for "revealing information that will compromise our sources and upset the community," neither of which has happened, so my reading of your message was biased to be less than generous.
Let me be clear: our source(s) approve of what we do. We do not publicly share information from our sources without explicit permission + the okay that it is safe to do so.
Like the Star Rail leaks server, our own Archive server can be struck down at any time, as could our Twitter account(s). It's a risk we fully acknowledge due to the nature of what we do.
We mostly hope we can fly under the radar on the technicality that 95% of the leaks we report are aggregated from other primary sources. We do not facilitate the actual act of datamining / running private servers / etc.--we just share the work others across the internet have already done.
If they strike us down, it sets a precedent to strike down every other leak aggregation source (gaming news website / YouTube channel / etc.) that not only provides the same service, but also actively monetizes their content.
As for our text leaks, it's difficult to take down non-copyrighted text (i.e. things directly copy-and-pasted from unreleased content). It's the safest way of getting information out, and it's the reason why we ourselves stay far away from being the primary source of any audio-visual content.
Still, it's all illegitimately obtained information. We are under zero delusion we are 100% safe, and as we know HYV is well within their rights to strike us down at any time, we go into this every day expecting the possibility of everything being nuked when we login.
It would be a shame, but it is a service we volunteer to maintain. It is not our livelihood and we make no profit from it.
If we get shut down, I promise you we will be okay.
We will always have our Carrd.
