Bralettes and Bigger Breasts
I know bralettes and big breasts don’t commonly go together to the dismay of a lot of woman. So something I’ve been working on is creating all the necessary support without diminishing the delicate appearance of bralettes. I was pleased with this outcome and, fortunately, so was my delightful customer.
White Lace and Pink Jersey
I decided to go for something more girly with this one. I’ve been feeling high waisted knickers so I tried it as a thong, think Pamela Anderson in Baywatch! This is the first time I’ve experimented with a satin strap. It’s actually bias binding but it does the job pretty well and I’d definitely use it again
Powernet Experiment
I don’t usually line bralettes when I make them but I kept reading about powernet and had to try it. I managed to get the last bits of it at my local fabric store and found another powernet-esque fabric. I wasn’t going to use the latter because it’s super sturdy and I don’t need a lot of support but I gave it ago and it’s wonderful! I really need to find out what it’s called, it gives all the support without the discomfort of an underwire.
Purple Fringing
I said in an earlier post that I had made three pairs of shoes for a client but hadn’t photographed the final outcome. I decided to draw the finished product as a creative excercise. I used a looped fringe trim with this pair of shoes to try something different. The fringing is great with movement. There’s so much you can do with a hot glue gun.
P.s. I know it doesn’t look like it but the shoes and the trim matched in colour. Promise!
Shoe Customisation
A client asked for me to update three pairs of shoes for her. Unfortunately I forgot to document the finished product of the third pair. Customising your shoes is a great way to revamp your wardrobe.
Happy Birthday to mum ❤️ wearing the coat I made her
DIY Choker (Part Two)
For part two of this DIY you’ll need some elastic and a faux gold chain which you can buy from any craft store, or you could use a real gold chain if you like. This DIY was inspired by my desire to use a bracelet I accidentally bought (I thought it was a necklace).
Stage One The bracelet I used was 20cm long and I removed the clasp. I then measured out two pieces of elastic. One was 30cm and the other was 5cm. These will form the back half of the choker and toggle clasp.
Stage Two Loop the elastic through the end links and fold in half
Stage Three Tightly knot the ends of the shorter bit of elastic, forming a loop. Now, knot the end of the longer strip of elastic several times over to create a ball that would fit through the first loop, this will form the toggle clasp.
And that’s all there is to it. These chokers work well together and individually, feel free to mix and match
DIY Choker (Part One)
This DIY is really easy and fast to do. I didn’t intend for this to be a DIY but I felt it had such a lovely outcome. As I didn’t document either process for making the chokers, I thought I’d draw it up. For this DIY you’ll need, elastic, two beads, scissors and a hot glue gun or another strong glue. The elastic I chose has a 2mm diameter.
Stage One I bought 2m of elastic and cut it to 125cm which allows me to wrap the choker around my neck twice before tying it.
Stage Two Glue one bead to one end of the elastic and the other bead to the other end. Be careful to not get any glue on the side of the bead.
Once you have done this, you’re finished. Enjoy!
DIY Chokers
These were an unplanned DIY. I was up late and just worked with bits I’d accumulated. Fortunately, I was feeling myself and this lighting and got some nice pics. The top’s a DIY from earlier in the summer. I should really get into the habit of documenting the making process!
Pink Cross Over Bra
Last summer I made a bra from an old t-shirt. I’ve always admired the up cycling trend and decided to attempt making a bra from excess material I had. I made a new triangle bra pattern for this project and it didn’t turn out bad at all. I’ll probably upload it at a later date, it would be great to see other people’s take on it.
DIY: Phone Case
When I got my phone I decided to buy a clear case and a screen protector. I love a naked iPhone. I mean who doesn’t? But the risk of it looking battered before my contract was up wasn’t something I wanted to take. However, over time my case has gone from clear to an unknown shade of ugly. I’ve been looking at cases in shops but nothing had really caught my eye a.k.a. reasonably priced and cute. I covered the case with a copper spray paint and gold powder I found in my room. I must admit that I wasn’t a huge fan of the outcome but it’s definitely grown on me.
Multiway Bra
A cute ass bra that reminds me of a clear summer sky. LOL I sound so hippyish. Ah well. New bras make me so happy!
Enjoy!
Embracing Fear
I’ve been spending a lot of time recently doing the things I’ve always wanted to do and finishing of things I started but hadn’t finished. A few years ago I made a faux leather gullet with a faux fur collar. My friends loved it and a friend of mine asked me to make him a coat. I drew up the designs but never quite got round to it. To be honest I was scared of messing it up. This summer I’ve been learning to get over fear and do the things I would have thought ‘weren’t for me’. I loved making this coat even though it was a challenge and something I’ve never done before. I love the warm caramel colour of the coat combined with the peach lining. It’s super comfortable and a great way to welcome in Autumn.

High Neck Shift Dress
Today at church the young adults served and essentially took over both services. As part of the take over service I was in the drama and did the guest welcome. However, I’m more of a sit in the back and camouflage type person so, naturally, this was daunting for me. On top of my nerves I felt as though I had nothing to wear. I decided to make something to wear for the service. I chose to make a shift dress, using cotton, so that I would be comfortable and be able to move freely. The neck tie and the tear drop in the back add a cute touch to what is otherwise a simple look. The perspex heels are great for when you don’t want to detract from your look, I got mine from ego.co.uk (Ariana Sandal in clear Perspex). Shout out to my brother for taking these photos for me!
