Grant Yun, Illustrations.
Wonderfully stylistic paintings by Wisconsin-based artist Grant Yun.
Grant says of his work: “Having lived several years in the Midwest as a young adult I was captivated by what Midwestern America had to offer. Most of my early life, I grew up in California with drastically changing landscapes that carved throughout the entire state. Moving to Wisconsin at the age of 18, I found a new source of inspiration. The emptiness, the flatness, the peace, the tranquility of the landscape I was placed into was a combination artistic inspiration and fear of the unknown. Having moved away from Midwestern America to Connecticut in 2019, I wanted to create this series that reconnected me to the part of the world that helped me grow as an artist and person. These series of illustrations portray a romanticized America. A simple yet beautiful representation of what it means to live in the Midwest. I hope my project is able to invigorate emotions and feelings of all who view this work.”
