[ ahhhh I'm really sorry for my absence!! I ran into some unexpected problems with life but hopefully I'll be back on track with replies soon! ]
â» playing around [Asami&Winry]
Examining a set of pliers in her hand carefully, looking for any scratches or dents and finding none, she placed the tool into the bag in her hand. A smile broke onto Winryâs face and she nodded.Â
âThat I am.â She exhaled softly, relieved, when the girlâAsamiâinformed her that the tools seemed to be perfectly fine. âIâm so glad,â Winry spoke through a small chuckle, âI just bought them and I canât wait to get to my dorm room and put them to use.Â
âOh! Iâm Winry Rockbell. Itâs very nice to meet you, Asami.â It had only take the blonde about a week to turn her own room into a sort of workshop. Already, she had automail designs hung on her walls, both old and new.
Listening to Winry talk about the power tools and her dorm room made Asami think she'd turned her room into some sort of mini mechanic shop. The part of her that had always loved machines and building them became very interested in seeing what she had set up, though she decided against speaking up about it. It would be rather odd to ask to see such a person place, especially after hitting her with a soccer ball.
"So, you are a mechanic, Winry! Is there anything in particular that you build?" Jade orbs peered curiously at the girl's face. She wondered if the blonde also built cars and machines like her father. Maybe she even had her own shop?
"Oh, and let me help you carry these up to your room!" Asami took the handles of one of the bags, lifting it up off the ground. "I'd feel bad letting you carry them up by yourself."
â» city streets [ed & asami]
Edward kept the grin on his face as he spoke. âI donât think youâll be missing out anything while youâre here!â As soon as she stepped through the door, he followed behind her, closing it. It seemed a little busier than usual, which took Ed by surprise, especially at the time of the day. Most students werenât out such as how they all were.Â
âWe start from here. Just be sure to grab a tray, they usually hand you want you need when you get your food.â He said, handing her a red tray. He held his in his left hand and guided the both of them to the start of the line. It was smelling good, it seemed as though they were serving some sort of soup and chili for tonight.
"Hm, I see how this works now!" Asami nodded happily. "You just line up, get your food and pay at the end of the line! Oh, but you probably knew that already, huh?" She laughed nervously, taking the tray he was offering her. She stayed quiet while they walked, speaking up only when they'd found a place in line.
"Sorry, I'm new to this whole 'public schooling' thing." The girl bit her lip to keep from frowning. "But... I'm glad that you're around to show me the ropes! So thanks!" She let a grateful smile on her face.
The line moved pretty fast, and soon Asami stood in front of a woman clad in a kitchen apron. She had what looked like a vegetable soup in a big pot in front of her. She gestured to the woman to fill up a bowl for her, then she turned to Edward. "Will you have some as well?"
â» playing around [Asami&Hatter]
Asami glances at the watch, noticing that the hour and minute hands werenât moving. âW-wow, thatâs⊠weird, but amazing!â She attempts a nervous laugh.Â
âTime sure is odd, huh?â
âOf course. But heâs the only Time Iâve got, so I must deal!
Imagine what it would be like to be timeless! What a terrible thing to be!â
The girl ponders his words for a while before replying.
"A timeless world would be chaos, right? Nobody would be able to get anywhere, and if they could, they'd always be early or late! Though, it might mean classes would start later, and that's always a plus!"
â» playing around [Asami&Yuuya]
Yuuya took back his glasses with a wide smile, placing them back on his nose and giving a grand bow. âMiss Sato, itâs a great pleasure to meet you! My name is Yuuya Le Bel Sakazaki.â He stood up straight and took her hand, giving a wink and pressing a gentlemanly kiss to her knuckle.
Great recovery after getting smacked upside the head in front of the pretty lady, Yuuya.
âDonât you worry at all, my dear. I would walk away as pure and healthy as I were just seconds before being hit by your soccer ball.. but mon dieu, how could I possibly? What if I werenât to see your beautiful self again? This world is too large to simply stray away from your presence, mon ami.â
"Ah, the pleasure is mine, Yuuya." She smiled politely, a light blush dusting her cheeks as he kissed her hand.Â
Man, this guy was a flirt. The way he talked was almost at a ridiculous level, Asami thought as she listened to him. She'd always read about guys like him, but she'd never actually met one in real life. It was quite an experience, though she wasn't sure how to react to him.
"Um, are you sure the ball didn't hurt you at all? Maybe we should visit the nurse's office, just in case?" Asami hoped her words didn't sound too forced. "If not that, let's at least get out of the sun's glare."
â» playing around [Asami&Marceline]
Marcelineâs fists clenched, her nails digging in to her palms. She hated when people were nice, it made it harder to throw them aside. Under the protection of her sun hat the girl hid her scowl. Slowly the burnt flesh began to fade and soon her complexion was the smooth, deep shade of grey it always was.Â
âIâm fine, thanksâ Marceline spat. Did this girl just introduce herself? She was that persistent kind of nice. Crimson eyes glared back up to the girlâs face. Oh so she was extremely nice and pretty. This girl was just going to be trouble. âIâm Marcelineâ she sighed. âMarceline the vampire queenâ she said. âBe more careful next time, kiddoâÂ
The noirette watched in amazement as the burns on the girl's flesh began to heal. It happened so fast that she could barely even begin to fathom what was happening. She was reminded of Korra's healing abilities, though there was no way Korra would be able to work that fast.
She barely even noticed the anger on the other girl's face any more. Her gaze was torn away from the burnt flesh to look at the other's face. The grey-skinned girl was saying something - introducing herself. A "vampire queen?" What was that even supposed to mean?
"I... sorry, Marceline, uh, Queen." She wasn't even sure whether she wanted to address the "vampire" thing. "You seem to have healed... so I guess we won't be taking that trip to the nurse's office?"
Gambling and Teaching Don't Mix || Asami & Grimsley
Grimsley didnât know whether or not he would like to be called a âklutzâ or simply ignorant as to where he was going. Â He didnât intentionally mean to bump into the girl; in fact, he didnât even mean to do anything! Â So maybe gambling was the main root of all of this, he thought. Â In truth, it was; honestly, he really did need to have someone to be there to tell him when âenough is enough.â Â Maybe the dark-type master needed to go to âGamblers Anonymous?â Â No, he knew how to exercise moderation. Â Although, it wouldnât help to go to some sort of counselor once in awhile, would it? Â Â âMy apologies, Miss. Â Truthfully, I didnât see you there walking. Â I was starting to fall half asleeââ Grimsley said before letting out a yawn that was quickly covered by his hand. Â âIâm a bit off today as you can probably tell..but letâs see those books of yours.â
Taking her books and inspecting them himself, he checked to see if there were any damages to them. Â He had learned to take good care of books while borrowing some of Shauntalâs books back in Unova. Â She was always so strict with her books; even the slightest bent page would set her off. Â Grimsley had always tried to play the role of the chill guy whenever he had accidentally done something to her books but to no avail. Â After taking a look at all of them, he came to the conclusion that there was no damage to any of them. Â He was glad that there wasnât any damage to any of themâif there was, it looked like she would have been ready to flip a table. Â Grimsley considered himself lucky to think that nothing of that nature would happen.Â
He then handed some of her books off to her and apologized once more. Â Â âAgain, I apologize for almost damaging your books. Â Here, let me take some of them for you to your next class. Â Besides, I wouldnât want this to happen again with another teacher or student. Â As to where you are headed to now, where would the destination be?â
Asami peered at the man curiously as she gathered her books, noticing his tired expression and body language. He looked too young to be a student - maybe he'd stayed up late grading student papers? Maybe he was a student, and he pulled an all-nighter to finish an assignment? Whatever it was, it made Asami feel a little bit sorry for him. She'd pulled more than her fair share of all-nighters working at Future Industries, and she knew how tough they could be on a person.Â
"Ah, please don't be too hard on yourself! I should have been paying more attention to where I was going." Her face softened as she straightened up. She dusted off her pants as she watched him check the books over.
After a few moments, he began handing the books back to her; she accepted them with a small smile. "Ah, they seem alright. Sorry for freaking out like that, by the way. I probably shouldn't have taken out so many books, huh? But really, it's fine, don't worry about it." She paused, shifting the books in her arms. "Actually, could you help me carry these back to my dorm? It's R-1."
She nodded her head in the direction of the dorm. "My next class is cancelled, so I think it would be best if I took them back."
"Also, my name is Asami. Thank you for the help, and sorry for the trouble."
it's all just titles, maybe. {iroh&asami}
ââ!â Iroh was caught off guard and nearly fell out of his chair because of it. His eyes flew open and darted to the door, his eyebrows rising in surprise at Asami. He expected a few people he recognized to be there, but it seemed so surreal yet. âAh- yes. Well..â He nodded and got to his feet, scratching the back of his neck.
âItâs Professor for now.â He felt quite relieved at the sight of a colleague, giving a small smile. The former General extended a hand out to her. âItâs been a while anyway, Ms. Sato.â
Asami brought a hand up to her mouth to suppress a laugh as she watched him almost fall out of his chair. He seemed a bit startled to see her, which surprised her as well. General Iroh always seemed so composed, so prepared for anything. She watched him get up and her hand fell at her side, a smile still on her face.
"Professor Iroh? Hm, it has a nice ring to it." Nevertheless, it felt odd calling him Professor. For a brief moment, she wondered why he had left his position in the army to become a teacher. Korra was here as well, maybe he was sent to protect her? Pushing those thoughts to the back of her mind, she shook his outstretched hand before letting go. She'd ask questions later.
"It's good to see you again, Professor. And please, call me Asami."Â
Although Canti appreciated her concern for him, he didnât want her to have go to the trouble of petitioning the school. He was content with just wearing a patch on his jacket, so not getting to wear the full school uniform wasnât that big of a deal.
Canti blushed slightly, the words âYou donât have to do thatâ appearing on his screen.
Asami read the words and frowned. Placing her hands on her hips, she leaned in close to the robot. "Are you sure? I mean, don't you think it's kind of unfair that the school doesn't take into account the robot part of the student body? Hmph..."Â
Eventually, she rocked back on her heels, arms falling to her sides. "But maybe I'm making a big deal about it. If you're happy with just the badge, I shouldn't try to change things, huh?" A sigh escaped her lips. "Sorry for being so pushy."
[ i'm sorry for being so slow with replies lately, it's just that there's a lot and it's a bit indimidating ^^;

â» playing around [Asami&Hatter]
âI-Iâm not sure I understand, Mr. Hatter. Doesnât time kind of⊠move on?â
âTime does as he wishes, and if he wishes to stop for someone because said someone murdered the Time of a musical number, he may do so!â
Hatter pulls out his watch and shows it to her. It appears to be stuck on 6:00 and approximately 20 seconds.
âSee?â
Asami glances at the watch, noticing that the hour and minute hands weren't moving. "W-wow, that's... weird, but amazing!"Â She attempts a nervous laugh.Â
"Time sure is odd, huh?"
â» playing around [Asami&Hatter]
A curious look settled on Asamiâs face. âMost of the time? Does that mean that tea time is most of the time for you?â
âTea time is always of the time, actually! Time is very finicky like that!â
"I-I'm not sure I understand, Mr. Hatter. Doesn't time kind of... move on?"
it's all just titles, maybe. {open}
A great sigh slipped easy as Iroh set down his last box in the new spacious classroom. Not that the box was heavy, but he still had yet to come to terms with this strange.. task that he had now. The title General was temporarily stripped of him for the first time in, how long? Was it almost ten years? It was replaced by âProfessorâ. What a strange thing, though he barely felt degraded. Just a month ago he was doing papers in his tactics office an convening with the best commanders from that part of the world, now he was teaching high school students. He was sure that his father or grandfather wouldâve given him long strings of old proverbs to mention how honorable the job would be, giving knowledge to youth, which Iroh frankly didnât see as good time spent.
So he took the job and went. Another louder sigh erupted from him as he fell back in his chair and shut his eyes, not bothering to shut his door to disallow others from seeing him. He was there, he traveled all this way to do this, now would be a perfect time to come to terms. He commanded great fleets once, this shouldnât be horrible.
Asami had been wandering the school corridors for a good long while, searching for the empty classroom where she and her friends had eaten lunch. Though lunch (and classes, for that matter) had ended a long while ago, she'd only recently realized that her school bag was not with her - it was somewhere in the classroom. Unfortunately, she couldn't recall the room number, or even what hallway it was located in, so she resorted to searching every one she came across.
She rounded the corner, seeing a familiar-looking classroom in the distance. It had to be the one containing her bag. It was odd, however - the door was open. She was sure her friend had closed it as they left. Well, whatever. Maybe the janitors left the door open. Peeking into the classroom, she noticed a familiar figure sitting at the desk.Â
"General Iroh? You're here too?!"
â» playing around [Asami&Winry]
She stared at the ball for a moment. It had been a long time since sheâd played. In fact, Winry was sure the last time she played any sort of sport was when she was little, before her parents died.
Taking the girlâs hand and lifting herself up slowly, Winry shook her head. She doubted that it was anything serious, it was probably just the initial shock of it all. No one ever expects to be smacked by a soccer ball while theyâre walking home.
âI think Iâll be fine. Iâve gotten worse bumps on the head while working.â She said with a quiet laugh. As she dusted of her school uniform, the blonde looked around at her tools. She bent over a put a few into a bag. âHm⊠I hope theyâre not broken.â
Asami scrambled over to help the girl pick up her tools. She felt rather embarrassed - how could she not have noticed the girl dropping her bags before? The best she could do now was to help her pick them up.
They were the tools of a mechanic, she realized as she gathered them into her hands. Various instruments like wrenches and callipers were spread out on the ground. She was familiar with many of them, having seen them and used them often in her father's workshop. Her head turned to the girl with a smile.
"So you're a mechanic, then? My father was one too, sort of." She stood up, placing the tools she'd picked up in the girl's bag. "And don't worry about these, they're in great condition. Ah, and I'm Asami Sato, it's nice meeting you."
â» playing around [Asami&Okabe]
âYes, the demonic seal in my right armâŠâ He murmurs in reply to her recent apology, a look of sorrow on his face. He holds said arm close to his body before staring at the offered hand. His eyes move from her hand to her face, and he deems the smile trustworthy enough for the moment.
With a small grateful smile, he takes her hand and allows her to help him up. Once back up on his feet, he releases her hand and rubs the back of his head, where a lump began to form thanks to the corrupted soccer ball.
âNo need to apologize any longer.â He accepts his phone and quickly holds it up to his ear. âNo. Everything is fine. That was not an attack by the Organization. Cancel the mobilization of the troops!â
He places the phone back in his pocket with a satisfied sigh, turning back to the girl before him.
âIâve got to say, youâre much stronger than you look.â
Unsure of how to reply, Asami merely nodded. "Demonic seal. Right." Despite her uncertainty, she returned his smile with one of her own. There were some weird people at the school, but he seemed alright, "demonic seal" and all. He hadn't tried to attack her in retaliation either, and that was always a plus.
She watched as he put the phone up to his ear and started speaking. Her eyes regarded him curiously, her arms crossing over her chest. Attack by the Organization? Troops? He sounded like a refugee on the run from some shady organization. But what refugee would disguise themselves as a student? Maybe she'd get the chance to ask him later.
Her train of thought was broken when he spoke again.Â
âIâve got to say, youâre much stronger than you look.â
"Hm? Yes, usually people assume I'm a helpless little girl, but I can handle myself quite well." A small smile lit up her face. "I'm Asami, by the way. Nice to meet you."
â» playing around [Asami&Hatter]
Asami stares in wonder at the teacher, her eyes moving back and forth between the tea and his face.
âUh, Sir, do you always carry tea around with you?â
âAlways most of the time! But only at tea time.â
A curious look settled on Asami's face. "Most of the time? Does that mean that tea time is most of the time for you?"
