‘Eggcellent’ ITTOP Music Showcase To Feature Cracking Lineup for Easter

Winchester favourite, Is This Thing On Productions will be providing an Easter basket full of musical surprises at the Attic Bar on Saturday 12th April.

Making a welcome return to Winchester this month alongside Nick, are three of the brightest stars on the British singer/songwriter scene. The Real Raj, Tom Lowman and Josh Savage.

The Real Raj is no stranger to the southern music scene. Having performed live in popular music venues scattered around Hampshire, The Real Raj will be bringing his melodious strumming and lilting lyrics to the Attic Bar.

Playing piano and teaching himself guitar from a young age, Tom Lowman has always expressed himself in song and has gradually incorporated elements of a wide range of styles, stripping them down to the age old combination of guitar and voice.

Josh SavageA newcomer to ITTOP, singer songwriter hails from Winchester and has been tipped as one of 'Ten Artists To Watch' by The Huffington Post. 

Writing songs in English and French, Josh is often seen gigging with a string trio accompaniment and will be self-releasing his second EP 'Spaces' on iTunes 7th April 2014.EP ‘Mountains in Hurricanes’.

Kicking off at 8’ o’ clock, ITTOP is a properly seated affair in the enchanting Attic bar atop The Railway Inn, close to Winchester railway station.

‘Hail the ITTOP of March’

Popular Winchester music showcase, Is This Thing On Productions will be singing in the springtime on Saturday 15th March.

Hosting three musical hours of talent, ITTOP founder and compere, Nick Tann shall be performing his trademark “dark folk” songs including those from his newly recorded album.

A properly seated affair in the enchanting Attic bar atop The Railway Inn close to Winchester railway station, the showcase will feature a cracking line up of original talent, including Nick himself.

Winchester local, Gary Nicholson aka. an enigma trapped inside a puzzle buried in a keyboard, will return to keep the ITTOP audience on their toes with his collection of short, sharp songs and funny spoken word pieces.

A newcomer to ITTOP, the multitalented ‘The Last Child Dancing’ member Chris will be performing tunes that have made him a firm favourite on theIs This Thing on Podcast. 

ITTOP’ folky bird’ regular, the refreshing Lucy Kitchen will be be performing songs from her imminent album release.

Have a Merry ITTOP Christmas This Year!

Nick Tann, creator and compere of musical showcase, ‘Is This Thing On Productions’ has revealed the line up for the December show at the Attic Bar on Saturday 21st December.

This high spirited edition of ITTOP will be a great way to celebrate the countdown to Christmas, with three hours of talent, music, talent and the beloved ITTOP raffle.

The showcase will feature Nick himself, who will be performing a new Christmas song, as well as some of his tunes that have made him one of the most popular performers in the south.

The festive lineup includes ITTOP newcomer, Southampton guitarist Alex Bowron with his musical experimentations; Winchester resident and Doctor of Burlesque, Cha Cha Boom Boom, dazzling in sequins and tinsel; comedian and author Grant Sharkey will be treating attendees to fresh tunes from his new album ‘2/40 : Binge Thinker’ and Southampton starlet, Lucy Kitchen will be performing her melodic folk favourites.

ITTOP Showcase Returns After Five Month Hiatus

Nick Tann, creator and compere of musical showcase, ‘Is This Thing On Productions’ has revealed the line up for the November show at the Attic Bar on Saturday 16th November.

After a five month hiatus, the November ITTOP showcase will be celebrating it’s comeback with a refreshing lineup, including Nick Tann himself. The long awaited event will also feature performances from talented musicians Tom Lowman; German songwriter and piano accordionist, Anja McCloskey who is making an exclusive appearance whilst on her brief UK trip; and Dan Whitehouse, a previous guest on BBC Radio 2 and 6.

Hampshire Musician Nick Tann Reveals Gig Schedule

The November gig schedule for local musician and founder of the ITTOP music showcase, Nick Tann has been announced.

Thrilled to be performing his own music, Nick has revealed that he has a number of shows lined up for November, including the return of the exclusive showcase, Is This Thing on Productions, after a four month hiatus.

Hampshire Solo Artist Nick Tann Announces Funding of New Album

Founder of exclusive showcase ITTOP (Is This Thing on Productions) Nick Tann has announced plans to record a professionally produced album at Zanzibar Studios in Winchester, featuring six new songs.

A talented performer, Nick has previously produced his CDs in his own small studio in Eastleigh, Hampshire.

Having recently returned from touring Denmark with Southampton rock band, Coast, Nick has decided to take things to the next level; “the time has now come for me to produce the best product I can to showcase my songs.”

Steering away from the regular method of raising money to create an album, Nick has struck out on his own and launched an independent fan funding campaign on his official website http://nicktann.co.uk/new-album/. to raise the £2,500 for this exciting project and to raise awareness of local talent.

Regarding his choice to crowd fund independently, Nick has argued that,“artists who use crowd-funding websites simply send their fans to these sites when they could easily start their own project from their website. It’s pretty simple to set up a PayPal button and put it on your website and if you don’t have a website, it’s pretty simple to make one of those too. ”

Nick will also include “Parallel Lines,” a song recorded for the forthcoming independent film of the same name.

Since setting up the crowd funding scheme on Monday 14th October, thanks in part to his large following on Twitter (numbering well over 4000), Nick has already started to receive a steady stream of generous donation through the PayPal button on his website.  

Sponsors who choose to donate £15 and above, shall receive a free copy of the finalised album. They can also follow the daily progress of the appeal thanks to a quirky fundraising thermometer on the page.

SUMMER SENDOFF FOR ITTOP THIS SATURDAY!

It’s that time of the month again, an Is This Thing on Productions night at the Attic Bar, in Winchester to quench those thirsty ears.  

Forever unique, always original, this months showcase not only will host a cracking lineup of independent, musical talent, a variety of other entertainments and the ITTOP raffle to ensure an enjoyable night for all, but it is also the last for this summer! 

ITTOP will also be welcoming back the unforgettable Grant Sharkey. 

Becoming known for his exciting 2013 music mission of releasing an album every six months for the next twenty years, Grant Sharkey will be performing his usual mixture of music and double bass humor and mayhem that has earned him the title “one of the most popular entertainers in the whole of England.” 

Recommended tracks include: ‘Sorry to Hear You’re a Racist” that has been collecting much publicity and air-play of late. 

Dropping in as part of their UK Tour, Nashville based duo Dirty Proper bring a taste of southern class to the south of England with their original take on what they describe as “The Southern Eurythmics”

Recommended tracks include: ‘Change From the West’ and ‘In The Morning.

Local legend, Mike Vaughan will also be making a special appearance for the ITTOP summer sendoff. 

Nick Tann guarantees that an ITTOP event will be “whole three hours of original entertainment with a depth of talent that audiences love,” will also be the musical cherry on the cake and treat everyone to a few songs of his own.
