“Fucking fight me.”
insanguinatopeccato:
“ …. FIRST of all, why? ” He better come up with a good reasoning otherwise, he was going to have his head smashed in. Well – at least he was willing to confess what he did so that was one point for Hideaki. “ And second of all, how far did you go and who the hell was it? ”
“Uh....” How was he supposed to explain that he’d done it out of annoyance? Hell, how was he supposed to explain that he didn’t do it at all, the medium only influencing the actions of the active spirits around at the time? “I didn’t get the guy’s name, and he won’t be getting up any time soon. But I have a good reason, I swear.”
insanguinatopeccato:
“SURE thing so go ahead. I’m all ears.” He honestly couldn’t promise anything considering he was a bit judgmental. Although, he doubted that it was anything that would cause the heir to view the other in a negative manner.
“I. . . may have thrown someone into a wall.” Was it technically personal? In one way or another, yes. Was he expecting charges? Hah, oh definitely. One did not simply throw someone into a wall without being prosecuted. “And. . . that someone might have been a member of the mob.”

insanguinatopeccato:
“ THAT’S surprising. I never thought you would ask anything of me but sure. ”
“Can you, er, promise not to judge me if I tell you something. . . personal?”
@insanguinatopeccato
“Hey, Leone, can you do me a favor?”
insanguinatopeccato:
LEONE began to contemplate whether or not he should assist him with his financial troubles but … perhaps not. Hideaki probably wouldn’t appreciate receiving money from the mafia and besides, Leone did want him to remain here for a bit longer. He couldn’t help but wonder what would it take for Hideaki to stay here permanently. Not that he would attempt to do so. It was just a passing thought.
“ Well, it’s pleasing to know that you’ll be staying for awhile. I’d honestly hate to see you leave but I’m sure you don’t want to stay here for a long while. Anyways, you’ll be enjoying my company for the duration of your trip. ”
Now that he thought about it, it wouldn’t exactly hurt to give a helping hand. Perhaps he would mention it at a later time. “ So, where are you staying right now? If you’re at a hotel, motel or whatever, you should come to my place. Oh – don’t worry. It’s just a regular place for myself. My home and the base are at two different locations. Also, I don’t really expect you to pay me back or anything so you’re free to stay at my place. Besides, it’ll help you since you don’t need to pay for any more. ”
“Great.” ‘Enjoying’ might not have been the word Hideaki would use to describe his feelings towards Leone’s presence. It was an on edge, almost unnaturally nonchalant attitude Hideaki spoke to the mobster with – the wrong move with Leone could have proven to be his last move in general. There were partial concerns with remaining around the person who had held a gun to his head before threatening the daylights out of him. What self-respecting person would have considered someone like that anything even near enjoyable company?
“I wouldn’t mind staying here, honestly. It’s better than going back to my parents, to say the least..” He didn’t mean with Leone, hell no. He meant Italy in general – the atmosphere was considerably better than that he had endured with his father or mother.
Where he was staying was more than a tricky question. He’d been living off of what he could manage doing – ugh – readings for those who wanted to know what their second cousin’s best friend’s dog was up to in the afterlife. The money was enough to keep a motel room going and to be able to buy dog food for Dixie. . . other than that, luxuries he’d come to know with his mother – and even those with his father – were utterly lost. “You’d really let me stay at your place?” That was a little more than an awkward proposal, Hideaki unable to hide a small look of surprise at the offer. “Uh. . . you sure about that?”
insanguinatopeccato:
“ OH.” Was his only response. Judging from his tone, he sounded like he was serious about his statement. Who knew if he was honestly telling the truth but, he didn’t want to risk getting hurled through a wall. Who knows. This boy could be a superhuman or something like that but he was just awfully good at concealing his powers.
He snorted. That was a rather comedical thought. But in all honesty, there was no way that he was capable of such a thing on his own. Hideaki appeared to be nothing more than an ordinary person of the world and that was it. However, Leone was certain that everyone in the world had a secret or two. Perhaps he held some kind of hidden talent or something like that. Such a shame that he didn’t seem to possess much potential for the family. He couldn’t deny that it would make his life more interesting if he had Hideaki by his side.
“ Even if you don’t work out that much, I’m sure you can do it much harder. You don’t look that weak after all. You’re free to do it any time. I’m curious about the extent of your strength. ” He removed his hand, giving a bit of a light chuckle as he did so.
“ Anyways, how long are you planning to stay in Italy? It’d be a shame to see you go so soon. ”
The awkward moment of pause came quickly when the medium heard the inquirement. He had intended to go home as soon as possible - surely his mother was worried, his father must have been. . . who was he kidding? His father was probably the same jobless ass he’d left in the States, unsure of where his next meal was coming from.
It wasn’t that he hated either of his parents, quite the contrary. Their rules had become nature to him, constricting his emotions and expressions like a boa constrictor. This was not all their fault, of course. He had locked away what he could, suppressed what little remained, and lived through life with a concrete outer wall surrounding him. He didn’t hate his parents for helping him - had he been allowed to grow up like the other heathens children, he would have already put more holes in the wall than pores in his skin. In a way, he envied those who could express themselves freely. By some extent or another, that meant envying Leone of all people.
“Probably not for a while. I’d have to get enough cash to get a flight to my mom, and enough to get Dixie another dog crate, and... I’d need to be freaking loaded.” A hyperbole, likely, but carrying the same weight as a genuine statement.
“My parents don’t exactly book two way flights.”
insanguinatopeccato:
THE heir braced himself for the slap, ready to take any force from him but he didn’t particularly expect a gentle slap to the face (well in his standards anyways). He blinked, raising a hand to rub at the struck spot.
“ You were holding back weren’t you? What’s the deal? I’m sure you want to hit me harder. ” Perhaps it was the fact that he was mafioso and Hideaki was nothing more than an ordinary person. He was probably frightened about the possibility that Leone would shoot him or something. With a subtle grin, he lifted a hand to pat the other’s head, almost as if he was treating him like a child. Even if he was older, the age difference wasn’t large so this seemed to be a bit ridiculous for Hideaki.
“ Give me your best shot. I won’t shoot you or anything. At most, I’d just send a loaf of bread flying at you again. ”
“Leone, my best shot would throw you through a wall, out of a window, or into the road. You really don’t want my best shot.” There was no jest to the statement. No hint of sarcasm, no sting of mistook teasing. In that moment, Hideaki was utterly serious, knowing just what would happen if he actually let loose.
Saying that ‘he’ would be the one letting loose was the lie in the statement. No, Hideaki himself wouldn’t have been the one to hurl Leone. That honor would have belonged to whatever specters happened to pick up on the small flare of energy, the small pulse that radiated from the medium an a whole other plane. Letting lose a flare may have attracted one to two, or ten to twenty, spirits if they were close and eager. The newly dead, odd enough, seemed to be particularly interested in the idea of throwing someone through a wall - Hideaki could catch sight of them in his peripheral, worming their way into his sight like toddlers eager for a gold star from their teacher.
“I’m kidding. And yeah, that was pretty much my ultimatum. I don’t exactly work out often, in case you haven’t noticed.” What was with the head pat...? Hideaki brushed the thought aside, indifference playing on his expression. “Don’t pat my head.”
insanguinatopeccato:
LEONE simply remained silent at his question, briefly averting his gaze to the side. He honestly didn’t want to answer his question considering that he did want to avoid being struck by the other. Even if he was heir to a mafia family, he wanted to keep things civil. His policy was only to act if it was necessary and Hideaki already proved that he posed no threat to him or the family at all. However, it didn’t change the fact that he didn’t want to smacked by someone younger than him.
“ … Unfortunately, yes.” He mumbled softly, clearly displeased by the fact that he would actually take the damage without much resistance. “ Well … actually, if you did slap me, I would have to get back at you eventually. ” He could just throw another loaf of bread at him.
Eventually? Exactly how soon was eventually? A day, a week... He’d have to wear two coats to protect against a possible loaf attack from Leone, just in case. Maybe a bulletproof vest as well. Even if Leone had little intention to harm the medium, it didn’t get rid of the small stigma he held for the other. Every movie and report said the mafia were absolute asses to anyone who made the wrong move, putting the student on edge the vast majority of the time he was within a few feet of Leone, a few feet of certain death - in his eyes at least.
“Well then, get ready to be slapped, Leone.” He had no intention of hitting hard, not that he could if he wanted to. He’d just lightly smack Leone, perhaps a little harder than ‘gentle’ in retaliation for having a gun placed to his head when the two first met. He was, indeed, still bitter about that particular event.

“ … I suppose you have a point but I’d rather not get into a meaningless fight. ” If Hideaki slapped him then he would have to take it, unfortunately. Considering that he randomly tossed a loaf of bread at the other, it was understandable that Hideaki was most likely seeking some form of vengeance. Of course it was unpleasant for the heir.
“Meaningless? I have my honor on the line.” He was being fifty shades of sarcastic, each word laced with a particular dosage of teasing venom. In a fight with Leone, even a pointless one, it was fairly clear that Hideaki wouldn’t have been able to do much without the usage of spirits. Fights raised adrenaline, adrenaline increased emotions and, from there, it was all perfectly horrid history. “But would you let me slap and or punch you without getting shot and or punched back? Just asking for future reference.”
insanguinatopeccato:
“ BUT what if I slapped you back? I’m sure you wouldn’t enjoy that.”
“Then I’ll have no choice but to punch you in retaliation. All’s fair in friendship and war.”
insanguinatopeccato:
“ I do have to applaud your courage but please don’t slap me. I don’t particularly enjoy pain. Besides, even if you were to slap me, I wouldn’t shoot you but please no. ”
“Good to know you’re not a masochist. Though, now you’ve got me tempted, considering you said you wouldn’t shoot me.”

“ …. ALL I threw was just a loaf of bread. No need to get so worked up over it. It didn’t even hurt that much did it? Anyways, please don’t throw a dictionary at me. I’d rather not suffer. ”
“You know, one of these days, I’m going to end up slapping you so hard that your eye-patch does a flip. I’ll probably get shot afterwords, but I’ll do it.”
