Summer reading suggestions, part 1:
New York University-Stern's Dr. Jonathan Haidt—perhaps best known for his research on the intuitive foundations of morality and political partisanship while a professor of psychology at the University of Virginia (and his bestsellers published on the topic)—has recently appeared on MSNBC's Up with Chris Hayes, TED Conference 2012, PBS's Tavis Smiley, CNN, The New York Times' TimesCast, Fox News, MSNBC's Morning Joe, PBS's Moyers and Company, and Comedy Central's The Colbert Report to promote his latest endeavor, The Righteous Mind: Why Good People Are Divided by Politics and Religion (Pantheon Books). If you have any interest in social psychology or the divisive moral underpinnings of politics, be sure to at least scope out this stellar New York Times Sunday Book Review and thought-provoking segment with Chris Hayes [clip above].
Another revolutionary Scrantonian: Harvard University's Dr. Howard Gardner—one of the most influential intellectuals in the world and author of well over 20 books including the acclaimed Multiple Intelligences series of cognitive science bestsellers—was born and raised in Scranton, Pennsylvania. Just a few blocks from campus in the Hill Section to boot!

What's Up? Well, it's summer!
Before everyone heads home for a well-deserved post-finals vacation, we would be remiss if we did not properly thank our graduating 2011-2012 executive committee for their stellar service. We are moreover psyched to announce our new officers, who will be working hard over the two summer sessions on the Psychology Caucus members' behalf to ensure a productive and exciting 2012-2013 year.
