[so, uh. tried to fix my fucked up keyboard today, ended up wasting the $45 on a new keyboard since my computer is shitty and the current keyboard won't switch out. like, it's stuck or something. i might get a new computer tomorrow, but that means blowing a bunch of money i've been saving for a con, even if mom is helping me pay, but i'd rather do that than wait 4 weeks for best buy to fix my keyboard tbh. i don't really know what to do at this point.

Virus smiled again and headed his own way. There were a few things he still had to do and he planned to get them donw a little ways before Aoba would be finished. Just in case.

He doesn’t run into her again, which honestly was odd to him. Virus expected at least one more coincidental bumping into, honestly. Perhaps that’s why it never happened.

A few hours later, she sat on the curb outside the junk shop, staring at her Coil. Hanging around with Virus probably wasn't what she should be doing, but every time she thought about getting up and heading back for a quiet night at home, she felt...bored. Maybe a change of pace would be good for her. Sighing, she tapped some buttons on the screen in front of her, finally calling him.

"Hey, Virus, it's Aoba..." she says, slightly unsure of herself, curling a bit of hair around her finger. She'd never actually called him before. "I just finished work for the day, and I'm hanging around outside Heibon if you want to meet up."

Which was true. Besides minimal conversation about Rhyme or Yakuza business, Virus hadn’t talked much to Aoba. Tucking his hands behind his back, he smiled a little more.

"You’re always welcome to call. I do believe you have my number yes?"

"Ah, yeah, I do actually!" Flipping through her Coil's contacts to confirm, she nods at him. Maybe she did need to hang out with him; it had been a while since they'd really sat down and talked. She'd mostly been with Ren or Koujaku as far as company goes.

"I'll try to call you when I get off work, which should be in a few hours, unless those brats come in again..." She muttered that last part under her breath, chewing on her lip in annoyance. Remembering the package, she looked back at Virus again, waving at him as she headed down the street. "Gotta go! I'll talk to you later!"

"Ah! Miss Aoba! It’s strange running into you for a second time today."

Virus smiled widely at the smaller girl in front of him, tilting his head some. It was honestly a coincidence running into her, he supposed. He didn’t mean to bump into her, and honestly, he was surprised to see her still out.

Usually she went home for lunch.

"Might I ask what you’re doing on such a lovely day? Is it just a walk? Or are there errands I’m keeping you from?"

"V-Virus!" She jumped when he first called her name, not expecting anyone to run into her on her way to Delivery Works. Today, though, she welcomed her yakuza friend's delay, pretty tired from all the creeps on the phone lately. Yoshie and Clara could wait.

"You startled me!" she said, somewhat indignantly as she let out a nervous laugh. "Oh, and I'm just on my way to Delivery Works, but I can stay and talk for a bit."

I don’t see why it would. A person portraying a trans character would have to accommodate to such a strong decision into the storyline and the character’s own growth. A genderbent bypasses that.

[yeah! i personally enjoy genderbends because of the different character design or seeing how other characters react to things differently]

[yeah, it kind of startled me when i read it. i asked one of my trans friends about it and he didn't think they were transphobic either. i'm personally curious as to why that person would say they were, though]

"Ah—" He wasn’t off guard by seeing another person, but rather the identity of the presence. Despite the brief pause, the corner of his lips tugged upward for an amiable reception.

"Good afternoon, Aoba-san." The name is drawled out, almost teasingly. Though, there was a little something of importance to take care of before interacting with the ex-rhymer. "If I may ask, is this your common route?"

"Ah, it usually is... I found out not too long ago that it's a lot quicker to get back home this way." she answers, looking up at him skeptically. Having been looking forward to going home all day, Virus's presence was mostly unwelcome to her. Not wanting to be rude, though, she decided she'd stay and chat. Only for a little while though.

"Why do you ask?" she inquired somewhat curiously, tilting her head to the side.
