Among it's many awesome details, I've just realized I think PHM is a good example of ... hm. Is there a word or phrase that describes how EVERYONE matters, whether or not you have pets, or loved ones waiting for you at home, or an important job, or what have you?

Because it's true.

You matter. You deserve agency. You have and deserve a place in this world simply because you exist.

Idk about anyone else, but I don't think I would have blamed Grace if he panicked and/or couldn't complete the mission. If he decided not to send his and Rocky's findings back to Earth at the end.

Yeah, he'd essentially be dooming humanity to the horrible fate that Eva Stratt described to him.

I'd argue we're lucky he survived, let alone that he had the selflessness within him to not only commit to this mission WITHOUT a crew to help, but also to go above and beyond expectations AND send the findings back. (And the balls to investigate + make friends with an alien species that just so happened to be attempting the same Hail Mary mission that humanity is.)

It's an impossible situation that I don't imagine anyone could cope with, no matter the decisions.

I do imagine people on Earth would be bracing for the end either way.

[Though this is all based on knowledge SOLELY from the movie! Haven't read the book!]

As always, I'm not too sure how to feel about the Russos' saying that we're basically starting from Phase 0 after Doomsday, that "we're not leaning on anything from the past", but

They said the same thing on a smaller scale about Born Again s2, and yet, here we are. Guess we'll have to wait and see what it all really means 👀

Saw some Thunderbolts* gifs last night, and-

It's so cool to see everyone's different takes on that almost imperceptible little smirk! I just can't get over the idea that, bc of the mental health perspective and depression/suicidal ideation vibes in Thunderbolts*, Bob's smirk was just another token of those themes. He's lashing out at people who look down on and bully him, knowing very well the deadly potential he now has. Yeah. Try and fuck with me. See what happens.

Whether he gets one up on John or gets hurt/dies trying, he's succeeding at his goals either way.

We're back to square 1, essentially.

Hardly anyone showed up to raid night, last week or this week. Thor and I had a chat, so until we can get a dependable team together, I guess Late Night's raids are canceled. We just can't keep relying on pugs every week...

Saw this on my android phone news feed. How curious... disregarding any character development thru Born Again s2, I'm not sure why Bullseye and Elektra would have ANY reason to fight each other! But I guess if Dex is some sort of anti-hero now...? That, combined with whatever fucked up state Elektra would surely be in post-Defenders, would certainly make for an interesting conflict!

I haven't caught up with Born Again s2 yet, and unfortunately, I came across some MAJOR spoilers about Vanessa Fisk!

Although I'm disappointed by spoilers, I'm still very intrigued by the ramifications of them, and how it will help to tie everything together.

[A bit of spoiler talk beneath the cut! Read on if you dare!]

I'm not surprised that Vanessa dies somehow. It's a shame for the sickest power couple on the eastern seaboard, but it makes sense narratively (I think).

A pop article explaining the climax of the season (Born Again s2) also described Wilson as "willing to do anything to bring her back"... (which is also not surprising. She's his anchor to basic humanity! He's gonna LOSE IT.)

Basically, I think it's all very interesting that these things are happening right as Spiderman Brand New Day is about to release, with all its major promo featuring The Hand - a group the present MCU was introduced to in the Netflix Defenders days. The Hand debuted in the first season of Daredevil, and they made quite the reputation for themselves, with formidable fighters in their ranks like Nobu, and widespread influence. Oh. And magic dragon bone juice capable of bringing back the dead, just without their memories. The memory part was kinda vague, hard to tell if Elektra was slowly remembering everything and just hiding it/playing "the game", or if she genuinely remembered nothing.

Anyway!

With the return of the Defenders all but officially confirmed, and The Hand on their way, AND Kingpin ready to do whatever it takes to bring back the love of his life, things are shaping up to be verrry interesting indeed!

Gosh. I can't WAIT to see Elektra back in action, see her and Matt be horribly, heartbreakingly in love with each other, and watch the other Defenders take their rightful place in the MCU. It's so good to be back!!

Last week, the Late Night raid team got Ahead of the Curve on our last pull of the night! The night started out a bit rocky, but we did it!

And we'll be going at it again this week! Late Night runs on Sundays and Mondays from 11pm to 1am CST! I'll be streaming it on Twitch, too, if anyone's interested!
