I love the idea that Masaki has such a healthy sleep schedule (except when he needs to fulfill missions/war times obvi), but George, on the other hand, needs to practically be put down every time he sleeps.
I present Exhibit A:
Masaki: Approximately how long has it been since you slept? George: This is my seventh cup of coffee, but I made it last for at least 50 hours. I will sleep when God decides it's time. Masaki, preparing the tranquilizer: I see. Is your God me?
Sometimes I feel as if Tatsuya's ability to read Mahiru comes from like a spidey sense, instead of his Elemental Sight. Like he sees Mahiru's eyebrow twitch once, and he's like "oh shit, she's going to f some shit up again." Like he'll see smth that other people ignore, and he'll feel it in his bones.
George, on the other hand, learned to feel dread whenever Mahiru smiled. Very few things made her happy, and if Masaki wasn't in the vicinity, she's got some effed up plan again.

Miyuki adores Mahiru. Both as an older sister figure but also just as a magician. She believes there is only one person that shares the pedestal with her brother, and that's Mahiru. She's do anything for her as Mahiru would for her.
Mahiru similarly loves Miyuki. She used to be afraid that she was exactly like her mother—unable to love, but Miyuki proved that worry futile. She's quite grateful for that and will eternally come running if Miyuki so needed.
Both of them would give each other anything at their disposal. Whether that was intentional from the Yotsuba family is another question, but the other families need to be careful not to incur the two's wrath.
Now, Tatsuya's relationship with Mahiru is a little more complicated. But as long as Mahiru's affection for Miyuki is as strong as his, he has no ill will to her. In fact, his willingness to help Mahiru acc stems from Miyuki's wish to help. He has no opinion on the matter.
However, in the future, it's shown that Tatsuya acc disliked Mahiru before his emotions were taken away. Mahiru's true innate ability is something that messes with his elemental sight, and it hurts for him to look at her. the surgery acc helped mend their relationship now that he can't feel strong irritation.
But b/c Tatsuya's and Mahiru's goals are one and the same, they are a fearsome duo. If Miyuki is somehow harmed, the world would pay.
So in Amanojaku, we got the main couple—Masaki x Mahiru—that's a 'both fell so hard that the world suffered for it.' But we also got the other couple.
May I present: George x Mitsuki who are 'our friends' got together, so now, we gotta salvage the world'
but seriously, George is like known to be more emotionless scientist, which is the exact opposite of him, and Mitsuki is like the empathetic soldier. But in reality, George cares so much, and Mitsuki wants to stop caring about everything. It's good for her to get specialized care from someone other than her family.
And it's like gradual. I think the two benefit from like a long period friendship where they're like 'this? this is a good partnership. both of us like this arrangement'
Kuroba Twins Headcanons
Kuroba Ayako
her entire persona is modeled after her role model, Mahiru. everything except for dress acc. she tries to mimic her sister's analysis and negotiation, and she's acc quite good.
she loves the color red, and she gives red objects to people she likes. if she doesn't like you, she'll just get any other color.
she's also a yapper. Fumiya's normally her talking buddy b/c he can stay quiet, but if Mahiru or Mitsuki is with her, she can talk forever. girlie keeps about 50% of the convos in the Kuroba household going.
and b/c she likes talking, she finds out about rumors, other people's viewpoints, motives, etc. really easily. once she enters Third High, she's knows everything about everyone
she actually specializes in brute force defense. most of her operative skills lies in negotiation and support, but girlie can break bones when she needs to. less graceful than fumiya, mitsuki, and mahiru, but still efficient nonetheless.
Kuroba Fumiya
the definition of a 'pretty boy.' once he enters Third High, he's the new heartthrob of the grade level. he attracts stares wherever he goes, but he hears more 'adorable' and 'cute' than 'handsome,' so he isn't sure if it's worth it.
he's a quiet person in general. while he's talkative to family, he has less words than Ayako and Mahiru. not that it matters much, Mitsuki loves that. they have quiet time together.
a top-class ballerino. his flexibility and grace is unmatched even by Mahiru and Mitsuki. he enjoys dancing in front of a mirror by himself period. no one is allowed to see. Mahiru only knows because he admitted it to her when he kept sneaking out.
he's super empathetic, so sometimes, being around a 'mental out-ed' Mahiru is the greatest relief for him. but he knows what that means, so he'll never admit this.
he admires Cardinal George quite a bit—b/c he's similar to Tatsuya, and also because George somehow manages to keep Masaki and Mahiru on a leash and handle Student Council matters.
Ichijou Masaki Headcanon I
boy is quite handsome—it's canon that he's handsome within a crowd, and he's the heartthrob of Third High. Mahiru appreciates his symmetrical face from time to time.
despite his handsomeness, he's lowkey icy to most girls who try to approach him. mainly because he was taught from a young age that one of them might acc be his future wife, and he wasn't entirely fond of that idea (until mahiru came along), so he's a prick to them.
he works so well under pressure. acc, it's probably what's needed for him to take action immediately. if it's not high stakes, he usually doesn't care enough to handle it. George hates that but begrudgingly handles those.
he's not fond of touches. he's well aware of his stained hands and while they're things he needs to do to defend the country, he isn't exactly 100% on board with 'staining others' (but someone's an exception)
he has like zero poker face. he has like three faces: happy and upset and neutral. he's also not the best liar. in short, he's like the best public leader, but the worst at maintaining PR sometimes.

I realized as an Isshiki, technically Airi could be a prospective fiancée for Masaki. But to make it funny, I want Airi to be like close cousins with Masaki to the point where she doesn't care about like manners or looking good for him.
In other words, she joins the club of 'taking care of Masaki when he does smth dumb' with George. She's the VP.
In the end, she also joins hands with Mitsuki and George to shape Masaki up to be the best man he could before giving him to Mahiru.
Both the Irregular at the Magic High School/the Honor Student at the Magic High School are amazing examples of how a magic system can be created. If we ignore the incest plotline, we have a somewhat accurate relation between politics & the military/a rather consistent magical system/a look into the higher echelon of highschoolers.

I think I considered writing a fanfic like when i first started out but I think I'd spend 2 months just trying to figure out my oc's magic abilities before I can figure out her placement politically and ah... I really like the magic system tho... maybe it's because I haven't grown uber attached with any characters...
I'll consider developing an oc but I don't think I can write a full blown fic with my current understanding.

The family also received their greatest weakness. Amanojaku (天ノ弱) can be translated in many different ways, the closest one is "Heaven's weakness" or "divine weakness." Kuroba Mahiru, one of the Yotsuba family members, starts her first year at Third High School. In charge of intelligence collection and analysis, her entry into the school was not coincidental, but there is more to being a student at the magic school than just magic. Espionage, grassroots movements, and political and societal threats, all of which appear to have no place in a high schooler's life. But even a divine weakness is divine, meaning that there's an infinite ability within a weakness. Perhaps, the only way for a divine weakness to no longer be a weakness is to lose its divinity. The only way for that is to love-something that divine beings are unable to do.
Y'all the Honor Student is so unhinged—in the Irregular, we see like the power difference between Tatsuya and Masaki, but like the Honor Student, we have Masaki being dragged away by George like a kitten.
10/10 character right there, fitting with that scrunkly pathetic look

Third High Girls Headcanons (cause they don't get love)
Airi Isshiki
she's the Queen Bee of the first-years. Beauty, brains, and talent, she's got them all. plus that pedigree? she's the perfect package
there's no inferiority complex at all—she wants others to try their best and is insulted if anyone else says otherwise. she put a 110% in—y'all better do so too
she always practices with her hair in a bun. using Lightning constantly causes even the slightest brush of her hair to be perceived like needles. only in competitions will it be in a ponytail.
she's so supportive. like most people think it's Touko, but this is the girl who is unconditionally supportive of no matter what choice anyone makes. quit? fine, that's your choice and I will be by you
she names every one of her foils. Shiori noticed that after practice one day, and to this day kept it as a secret
Shiori Kanou
she's quiet with strangers, and she's quiet with friends. but her friends always knows that she's listening. the quiet hums and nods easily proving that she's following their conversations
she's actually second-ranked in theory (after Cardinal George), but loses in magic skills cause the other students are just OP in that sense. she's actually even more analytical than George
perfect posture. even after a full day of exams and such—there's just a sense of decorum.
her skill lies in the immediate detection of her opponent's attacks and abilities and the quick integration of a counterattack. she would make a rather good lieutenant on the field than a tactician.
she's the silent extrovert. she likes being around people b/c being alone means she's left alone with her analytical brain and that gets to be too much. it makes a great pairing with Touko, who'd rather die than be alone.
Touko Tsukushiin
confidence personified. people like her b/c they're similarly uplifted with her, but what others aren't as aware of is how vicious she can get. if you cross her or her friends, maybe you should immigrate to another country to get away from her
she's acc really clumsy on land. it's not odd to see her trip over something nonexistent. it's most likely the reason why she's so graceful in the water.
b/c of her skill with water spirits, Touko is so empathetic. it's the main reason why she got along with Shiori so easily b/c she understood everything despite w/o Shiori having to express it verbally
she's not a planner, so her strength lies in the ability to change it up in the middle. she's gotten quite good at balancing her impulsivity, but it shows up during class.
