Flight to MAL to SG
March 10, 2026, a week near to GO CON 2026
Arrived at the airport by 11PM, hours before the scheduled flight by March 11, 2026 (around 2AM), which was further delayed by at least an hour. Everything was running smoothly until we were scanned at the Bureau of Immigration, expecting a series of routine questions.
The holdup was unexpected, but they escorted me to a helpdesk for further questioning, holding my boarding pass and ushering me to another part of the immigration office. I was asked multiple questions on my purpose for the SG visit and quickly was reminded of the “latest / recent” travel to UAE, which was 2017 fresh. They were suspecting that I’d go to SG and never return, at least that’s my impression on the matter.
“I’m travelling to SG to attend a Women’s Conference called, Come Away With Me, My Beloved, ”I answered. “And we booked a flight and a hotel with my mom as a sponsor.”
They told me I went with travel visa and then go to work there and there were never papers on my recent travel abroad from the UAE. Then they asked me to answer a series of questions and looked for evidences like pictures, videos, IDs, bank accounts, statements, invitations from the conference, bank payments, flight bookings, hotel bookings, etc. This ended when I sent sufficient evidence plus a written statement of my purpose for the trip and a signature voucher of my travel companion that we will return to PH.
It was a long conversation, a very oriented and detailed inquiry by the immigration officer. It ended peacefully. I was relieved and thanked God. My cousin, who’s my travelling companion even asked the name of the immigration officer.
“Denise”, she replied. “Thank you, Denise.”, my cousin answered.
We retrieved my boarding pass and go straight to the boarding gates through the immigration office.
“Thank God we went early and the flight was delayed one hour”, my cousin said.
She then looked at me, who was a bit tired from the interrogation.
Understandably, it’s the wee hour of night. “At least we were all talking and still smiling there. Aren’t you glad? Thank you, Abba Father for the joy and peace!”
“Yes,” I agreed.
I was at peace throughout the whole time. No raising of voices and all in a very controlled and peaceful talk.
I realized lately that there wasn’t really no reason for this holdup. My travel visa was converted to working visa through sponsorship. It was all done legally, and I tried to process it legally to process the other work documents in the Philippine Embassy in UAE during those days.
Why was it brought up in a time like this?
Why in all things?
I know there’s no point for self pity, anger, disappointment, or impatient. Those times were at hand and GOD is working for the good of those who love Him, those who have been called according to His purpose.
No matter what, I choose to look for Him in all things and focus on what’s lies ahead. Sometimes I have to remind that it’s not all about me, but it’s all about JESUS and His purpose and His Kingdom here on earth.
