Scuba Diving in British Columbia: You don’t have to leave home to find adventure
While you probably know that British Columbia is home to incredibly beautiful landscapes and wildlife, did you know that our marine life is just as stunning? You don’t have to travel far in B.C. to find unique experiences, you just have to go underwater.
Diving Locker is your one-stop-shop for lessons, gear, and tours in beautiful British Columbia. We dive in B.C. all year round, and we are committed to giving all our customers a safe and memorable experience.
The legendary underwater explorer Jacques Cousteau is credited with saying that the coast of British Columbia offers the best cold-water diving experience in the world. In 2018, B.C. took first place in Scuba Diving Magazine’s Readers Choice Awards for best Wall Diving – underwater cliffs that are often home to a variety of marine life, from coral to starfish – and third place for Best Overall Diving and Best Underwater Photography Location.
We offer a variety of courses for divers of all levels of experience. Our dives require each diver to have a PADI Open Water Certificate (or the equivalent) and to have completed a dive within the last year.
Our small group safari is perfect for divers of all levels. Scuba Diving in B.C. means that you get to experience B.C.’s incredible marine life, such as the Giant Pacific Octopus, seals and sea lions, up close. You will be guided by one of our PADI professionals on two dives. Local sites include Porteau Cove, Kelvin Grove, and Whytecliff Park.
We have strict and safe COVID-19 measures in place, both in-store, and in our classes. We have reduced the group size of many of our available trips, and encourage all our students to take their own transportation to the dive site if possible. We still offer transportation to the dive sites, but we will be limiting the capacity in our vans. Due to COVID-19, we have also discontinued mask and snorkel rentals, and we ask that everyone provide or purchase their own.
For a complete rundown of our in-store and ocean COVID-19 safety measures we have made a video outlining our new guidelines. Diving Locker also requires that all of our divers must complete a safety questionnaire prior to any diving activities. A doctor’s note will be required if you answer “yes” to any of the questions. All divers must sign a declaration of health statement, due to COVID-19.
