Still thinking about my married cumplane au.
I kinda want them to have maybe met by accident. Like, SY was in one of SQH's classes before his health crashed and SY was used as a basis for a few characters in PIDW. Because he just looked like some cold beauty to SQH. So, at the least SQQ was based off of his impression of the quiet rich kid in class who would glare at the idiots.
Then, they get separated and SQH starts publishing his story and SY becomes a dedicated anti-fan who gives the most cutting criticisms. (Which goes straight to SQQ because that energy is perfect for a villain.)
Then, SY's health gets worse because he's living alone and refuses to lose his independence. His family insists he gets a roommate or smth, so he posts an ad with suspiciously cheap rent. SQH wanted to at last check it out because the wrist that can happen is he dies and his money woes are over. Best case he gets cheap rent in exchange for whatever this guy wants (he thinks sex despite what the ad said about needing help cleaning and with meals). Turns out, it's a guy he's familiar with so they're both comfortable with this (the family only approves after a very thorough background check).
They get along better than expected. Aside from the awkwardness when SQH finds out the thing his new roomy is raging about is his own webnovel. Oops, not saying shit. They get closer, then SY figures out it's SQH writing this and they have a whole fight about it. SQH can afford this place more easily, but he still needs money to live and this pays his bills. He has to appease the fans. SY offers to pay him to write better in exchange for a very generous amount (because the Shen family is definitely a family who has no idea what normal things cost). SQH is getting adopted, and the family makes it clear they support them no matter how they define the relationship. SY, of course, misses this.
SQH still writes a lot of porn, but at this point he's doing it for fun and to watch SY get flustered. Look, this guy is hot and watching him get blushy reading his drafts is great. Sadly, SY is dense af and misses all the increasingly obvious flirting. SY is definitely into this guy, but he just assumes everyone would be too, so it isn't gay.
This is gonna get challenged, because SY keeps allowing more and more contact until they're making it because that's just what bros do. Not gay. Totally. SQH meanwhile has caught feelings and gets hurt by all this. He's in love, and eventually confronts him about his feelings, and this results in SQH planning to move out because he can't live like this anymore. He's saved a lot from what SY is paying him. He can go back to writing for pay, it's fine.
SY is very distressed because he doesn't want SQH to leave him. He keeps asking him to stay and eventually this forces him to think about his own feelings. A lot of his worry about being into men is that his family might hate him, but when he talks with his brother, he points out that he's gay and it's fine. Yes, his roommate is his boyfriend and the parents know. SY is clearly spending too much time in homophobic spaces online and needs to learn to deal. The family already has a feeling and won't judge him. Also, he'd be an idiot to miss out on someone who makes him happy and who the family likes.
So, he goes back and admits he died really like SQH, this is just a lot. But he wants to try. So! Happy ending. Our guys get together, and the family supports them. They're basically married, and consider themselves to be husbands.
This is the fun point. They could get their happy ending.
Or they could die and transmigrate into PIDW. I still want my silly idea of them both getting baby'ed, so they each think they're alone until they finally meet as head disciples. And promptly freak everyone else out by losing their shit once they officially meet. SY is fully willing to bite anyone who tries to separate them now. They're both peak lords, but they spend half their nights on each peak when they're together. They got married basically ASAP too, because that's allowed here! They're both trying to ignore the plot, but it's gonna come for them eventually. At least they have each other.
