Sketched a pigeon for Hoku on FR~

Never drawn a pigeon before; this one is a snow pigeon.

OMG I spent forever on this sketch of Gottfried because I couldn't get the dang idea out of my head, and within .05 seconds of opening Tumblr I realized why I had no problem mocking it up like I normally do.

...I drew almost the exact same sketch for Gottfried's rival Friedrich like....what, six or eight months ago or something? I didn't even realize. Self plagiarism, wtf. XD

I guess they both get to look edgy now, haha~

Voidcatcher was born under a blood moon and can only portend coming disasters. As you can imagine, that's not a lot of fun for her. She was a forum rp character of mine once upon a time! Poor girl was abandoned as a hatchling, and her adoptive mom had no idea when she was born to know that she might have the gift of prophecy. It became a bit of a nasty surprise for Void during the rp~

Void's prophecy:

When ocean visits mountain post

Avenging waves from bloodied rime,

A deadly clash of flood and frost

Will snatch the young before their time.

Seek out the royal prince ice-laced,

Seek out refuge from flood flowing.

'Ware sea scales ambition-braced,

'Ware forced winds of change a'blowing.

Bring the scales of night and sand,

Find the ice and forest-dweller,

Bees and butterflies close to hand,

The yet unknown and fortune-teller.

Wings of Jewels will shift the moons,

Wings of Wealth will turn the seas.

Through the Wings blood ebbs or blooms,

Super sketchy and rough because I'm in one of those moods where I can't draw anything polished without hating it, everyone gets to suffer with me~

A lot of times I stop drawing for long stretches of time and become weirdly convinced I can't draw and everything I've ever drawn sucks and I shouldn't bother drawing anymore, which is a vicious cycle.

And then I sketch something and am just like. Oh, fuck, that's right, I do know how to draw. Awesome.

It is done!! *hand falls off* I have no idea how I did this rendering. I was possessed by the rendering ghost and it just happened; it will probably never happen again I am blaming this neat brush set I have been playing with. Those wings should end in feathers but sometimes things just happen so now they're not.

How many bots are going to ask me to message them this time I wonder haha~

I am having way too much fun with this but also every time I zoom out I remember the rest of the dragon is still unpainted at all and I die a little in my soul. Wonder if it's too late to just call it a bust haha~

Sometimes I start doodling something and realize partway through I've committed to a ridiculous paint texture that's going to make my hand hate me. Why do I do this to myself haha~
