hello my darlings!! Here is a little bio and info about this extra fun trash bag child of mine:
Name: Seamus MacGowan
Birthday: September 24th, 1997.
Parents: Eoin MacGowan, and Sandra MacGowan
Siblings: Open older female
Likes: worn in shoes, live music, autumn upstate with the changing trees, writing lyrics on the back of napkins just to remember, playing guitar in an empty soundcheck, finishing a new script for no one but themself, parties with interesting stories and names he will never remember.
Dislikes: being sent scripts just for the money, board room meetings to discuss the future of the past, reflecting on past lovers, licorice, boatrides.
Born to an incredibly rich scottish family who dealt in antiques and art mostly, think christie's, but even older. Because of this, different parts of his extended family have run the business in different countries and so on and so forth.
When they were 14, the family decided that his parents should be promoted to run the New York Office. He has been living there ever since.
He has been interested in the arts and music since they were little,. They were always going to the movies and different concerts as a way to actually experience life in the now rather than the family business of the past. This is always their yin and yang, the nostalgia for history and the present creativity.
Decided that rather than go into the family business like so many other cousins and sibling, they were going to pursue creativity. They became an actor, and a good one at that. After all, what is cuter than a kid with an accent.
It was easy to break in as a child actor in new york, finding a place in period pieces and dramas easily. But this was still not enough. He needed more as he got older. When he was finally of age, he began releasing music as passion projects.
They were on top of the game for years, always searching for the next thing to take on before the call of his families business was there to fall back on if they ever stopped moving.
But then, of course, they fell in love. It was a secret to everyone, a well kept secret between busy lives in new york. And then they moved to Italy together, quietly, like that was a normal thing to just up and do. But they were in love.
A year goes by and now they are back in New York with no explanation, and no attachments. It's now six months later and their creativity is taking hold again as they start to look for more projects to fill the void of what no one knows about.
"i didn't say all that." he swirled around the liquid in his glass, letting out a chuckle. "i personally think they've got some of the best whiskey in the city. other people might not agree with me." joshua shrugged his shoulders. "but if you want to judge it for yourself, why don't you order a glass? being a scotsman and all, i'm sure you could tell me if it's really any good." joshua suggested with a raise of his eyebrows, gesturing towards the bartender with a nod of his head. "if you're looking for a more vibrant and music heavy place, then this isn't really it. this is more of the laid back lounge type. the live singers they have here sing ballads or other low tempo songs. what kind of music are you performing?"
"Oh, come on now." They said with a smile. "You can't go back on your word. You've got to have confidence in these things. Its half the battle, the other half is actual quality, but if you haven't the smidge of confidence, it's of no use." They mused before thinking on the offer. "I'll take you up on that then." They said, as the other motioned for the bar tender to get them one of whatever the other was having for them and him. Seamus thought about the other's question which he was sure was not meant to be a loaded one. "It's kind of low tempo...but also kind of weird? I'm finding it hard to really pin down the sound." They began before the dirnks were placed in front of them. "Alright, lets see here..." Seamus began, swirling the whikey around in the glass before sniffing it and taking a long sip. Thinking for a moment they slowly nodded their head and put down the glass. "As I thought... I'm really bad at alcohol tastings. I can't taste the difference between anything"
“ drunk ghosts just begging for moonshine , y’know ? they’ll be so impressed by how far we’ve come . ” she’ll comment facetiously . truth be told , the place looked like it could use some sprucing up . it wasn’t terrible but the decor and ambiance is not drawing in a sizable crowd . “ it could work if you’re hosting a poker night or a 20s themed party that’s for sure –– although i’m sure the palace has this beat . ” she’ll shrug at his question . “ something like that . history . hauntings . kinda goes hand in hand , yanno ? ”
"Oh I think they would be baffled by the artisan moonshine people are making. I mean the stuff melt your face off strong, but it's also way too much money." They countered. The thought of a theme night made them smile. It was rare that people did anything that interesting these days without people going way off script and making it a show of wealth. "Maybe a murder mystery party set in the 20s. Now, that would be good for this place." The idea that history and hauntings went together would have elicited some sort of response normally, but they thought about it for a second and couldn't completely deny the notion. "I guess history is about dead people mostly."
" that's good. " he said. " but i like your vibes, && your pretty eyes don't hurt either, " manny smiled. " yea, i love it. the festival is something i look forward to every year. the music, the people, the drinks, && the food. what's not to like ?? have you been to the fest before or is it your F I R S T time ?? "
The compliments cause Seamus to raise a brow. If this person was truly going off of pure vibes, they would surly be interesting to spend the next while talking to. "Vibes and eyes, you are an easy person to impress then." They commented before taking the drink the bartender had placed down for them and admiring the heavy pour to it for a second before turning their attention back to the person before them. "I've been a few times..." Seamus lead on, not mentioning that they had played it in years past. "It's changed over the years thats for sure. Feels like it could be my first year if I'm being honest."
her own features soured at the harsh reality seamus had delivered. ❝ i'm too much of a control freak to not have my hands in something i'm creating. ❞ a feat she was sure they already knew considering how long the pair had known each other. even as seamus was across the ocean, they worked hard to keep in contact even if the timezones and busy schedules made it nearly impossible to. they may have fallen through the cracks a few times, but that didn't mean seamus became a stranger upon their return. luna could still see when there was something they were keeping from her. it was just figuring out how they could approach it. ❝ that's all ? ❞ they inquired with a slow nod. ❝ you know if i was a dumber person, i might believe that. unfortunately for you i'm very, very, super, duper smart. but i won't press. ❞ she promised, raising their hands up as if in surrender. ❝ at least right now. but i'm here for you if you ever do want to talk about it. you know that, right ? ❞
"You really are a burgeoning auteur." They said, a compliment to be sure with their line of work. Their friend's suggestion that they were not telling the whole truth pulled on a cord. Seamus had to remind themself that Luna only meant well. She was one of his oldest friends, and definitely a confidant, but this was all still so raw. Six months ago their saw their future very differently, but now priorities had been shifted and their walls went up even further. "I know...I just..." They started, feeling it eating at their gut to have to talk about it at all, but knowing their friend would only keep at it for weeks until it came out. "I didn't think I would be coming back to New York for a much longer time. It's just taking a bit of time to readjust to home, that's all. I'll stop being such a sourpuss soon, I promise...." as if that was the entire story.
" if i saw that then i'd be taking out my camera … imagine the money you could rake in selling that to nepoupdates , " confessed shamelessly . it wasn't like it was a real possibility . although , dylan hardly thought anything in life was serious , trying her best to always be on the outskirts of any real feelings which tried to invade her space for more than a short span . " not with that attitude ! " sentiment appearing to be repeated , " come on … i'll even get up there and do some warm up introductions … a bit of comedy . we'll have this going in no time , " did dylan have talents as a comedian ? probably not . was she willing to do anything ? definitely .
Seamus raised a brow at this admission. "I'd rather be living paycheck to paycheck, couch to couch than selling something to those people, if I'm being honest." it may have been a bold stance, but the idea of selling out friends made their skin crawl. They kept people an arms length away for that exact reason most times, only select people getting brought into their most intimate emotions and moments. "Comedy to open up an acoustic performance sounds like the greatest way to clear out this place even more. I think the rats would even leave with the vibes so off."
"Would I be considered too basic if I say I'm just drinking a vodka cranberry right now?" Wren replied to the boy, glancing down at her glass that was now about half empty. "Just wanting to start off with something simple right now, I might mix it up later on though. How about yourself? Is your drink more exciting than mine?"
"I'm sorry to say, that may be incredibly basic." They said with a little smile. "But if it tastes good, who actually cares. If it's to your taste, then just live your little cranberry life." They mused as they flagged down the bar tender. "I don't think I'm any more interesting than you really. I'll have a Whiskey Sour."
he nodded. ❝ born and raised. ❞ and would hopefully be staying here for much longer. his father had spoken about more visits to his country but the place was still foreign to nate and the cameras somehow worse there. ❝ it's a cool place. they bring in some neat artists on weekends to perform. ❞ most commonly locals or people looking to get their big break but nate had recognized a few names over the years.
Born and raised. Something Seamus knew nothing about. They were lifted from their life in Edinburgh and placed in New York like nothing had changed beside their address number. "That's special. I guess you've probably seen the neighborhood change pretty dramatically then around this place." They mentioned. Hearing the other's praise for the space softened Seamus up just a touch to the place, seeing it with nostalgia tinted glasses seemed much better anyways. "So the crowds are receptive to new music then, you think?"
❝ with what time ? ❞ their words were spoken with laughter, though only spoken in jest. ❝ filming two movies and promoting an album doesn't leave much time to run a bar, but i guess...━━ ❞ tone changed to something more somber as her features feigned disappointment while they looked to their childhood confidant. ❝ ━━ that's not something you would know seeing how you completely ditched me for the villas of italia. ❞ their performance concluded with a laugh as she put on their best italian accent at the end to clue seamus in to the fact that she was only joking. ❝ what happened with that anyway ? not that i'm note completely relieved to have you back, this place is so much easier to navigate with you around, but you haven't talked about it much. you know i'm here for you, right ? ❞
"Running a bar and owning a bar are two different things. You find the right person to run it, it's more about money than time with that. Really, the world revolves around the stuff to a very scary point." Thye said with a click of their tongu, shaking their head at the thought. Spirling on this dark train for them was the reinder of their Italian Adventures. Their features soured slightly, only a ting noticable to people who knew him for enough time. Unfortunately, She was one of those very people. "It was just a trip for inspiration. You know how all the greats always need to go find new inspiration in old places..." Seamus said in reply. While that wasn't completely untrue, it was certainly not the real reason they were gone for so long. "Plus, I wanted to try every gelato flavor and once I did that, it seemed like time to come back, thats all." True, but again, void of any mentions of who they did all these things with.
"what?" rafael blinked in surprise at his comment. "but people drink coffee by themselves all the time. this is, like, the same, but at night. and with alcohol." once he explained his reasoning, however, it made sense. at least with coffee, you were just hyped up on the caffeine. with alcohol and with no one to tell you otherwise, it was bad decisions galore. rafael didn't really drink alcohol. he also didn't call his exes; he thoroughly ghosted them for a reason after all, terrified of their confrontation both sober and drunk. "bro, you're so right, holy shit." he nodded, sipping on his sweet mocktail in thought. at the other's next comment, he laughed. "no, dude, i can just call them up. technology, ooh," he said jokingly. " i'm rafael, by the way. if you're not here to drink and reminisce alone, what are you here for?"
The other's reasoning left Seamus with a puzzled look on their face, thinking about how the other could have possibly equated the two. "Are you seriously saying you think caffeine and alcohol have the same effect on people?" They started. It was certainly a side track, but Seamus couldn't really let it go now. "Even if it did, which it does not, let me be clear, it does not. But if it did, people don't go out and have five cups of coffee in an hour where people do that and more with alcohol." They countered as an argument. "But That's really besides the point." When the other took a moment to get their joke, they couldn't help the smile that graced their cheeks. Rafael seemed almost innocent with how things seemed to pass him by. "Seamus. I'm here looking for a space for a very top secret project." it was not that top secret.
amused that the other was willing to play along with the 𝐑𝐀𝐍𝐃𝐎𝐌 story that tristan had fabricated . he leaned against the bar as well , bringing his glass up to his lips and taking a sip before nodding in the others direction . ❛ mhm , this story goes deep . sometimes i'm convinced anytime i'm in this place , it's a hotel california situation . ❜ tristan began , speaking of the famous and classic song ( hotel california by the eagles . ) ❛ i heard if you are lured in by the screams in the basement , you'll end up 𝐒𝐓𝐔𝐂𝐊 here with them . you'll just become another scream stuck in this hole in the wall bar that most people don't know about . ❜ an over dramatic sigh fell from the males lips before he pressed them together and shrugged his shoulders . ❛ i don't know ? i heard that's what happened to the real avril lavigne . you know , before they put a 𝐂𝐋𝐎𝐍𝐄 in to replace her and take her success . ❜ going along with his own 𝐈𝐃𝐈𝐎𝐓𝐈𝐂 words , tristan couldn't help but break into a small smile as he looked at the other . ❛ so , what're you doing here ? scouting the place ? ❜
A music refference, and to the eagles? The man before Seamus was truly different than most people they had talked to since coming back to the city. "oh yeah? Well, that really changes the vibe for that whole album and this whole bar if you look at it that way. I guess that's a kind of pleasant insanity though, so you've got that going for you." They included, almost edging the other on for more weird conspiracies and stories to just see how far he would go until one of them broke. "That's exactly why she makes fans stand behind a rope for pictures. She can't have them touch her in case they ruin the copy. You know how unstable those clones can be." Seamus added. "Plus, she's really fuckin weird, and I like weird people, but she is really weird first hand." He thought back on the experience of meeting Avril Lavigne. "You got it right on the head. I'm trying to find a place to record a live session. It helps me to really hear what the music sounds like... and you're enjoying the ambiance of the screaming eagles ghosts?"
casey didn’t care to spare anyone’s feelings at the bar. he wasn’t a genuinely mean person, but he was very much to the point and after all, he didn’t drink, so it’s not like he would be back here anytime soon, or ever, for that matter. a light chuckle leaves his lips, deciding to entertain their banter. casey doubts he would ever see them again, so what was the harm? another sip is taken from his drink. ❝you seem to know a lot about what ghosts smell like. should i be scared you’re summoning them in your basement or something?❞ he didn’t have time for whatever this was, yet, he found it hard to put an end to whatever was going on. ❝is that you insinuating that you want me to stay?❞
"Jokes on you, I don't have a basement." They quipped back to the stranger. There was something about their breashness that felt refreshing to Seamus. So many people tried to people please, or at. least fake it till they made it, so having someone out of pocket with them was always a sort of treat for them. "I do all my summoning in the living room like a proper witchy person." They said, though their vocabulary could easily give away they had no idea what they were relaly talking about. "Well, If you left, then I'd be all alone in this place. So, yeah, you seem like interesting company."
manny was thankful for the connections. two years ago, he would have been out in the crowd with everyone else, but now, he knew people in all the right places. it was nice to have. " alright, gin && tonic for my friend, " he said. " you could put it on my tab. " he said before eyes turned to glance at the other. " so–– you E N J O Y I N G yourself here ?? "
Seamus looked over the other for a minute before setting into the seat. The energy from him didn't seem offputting yet, and a free drink didn't hurt, so they might as well stay. "Well a free drink, and a guy with connections, what could I say but I am having a pleasant time. How about yourself? Are you havin a thrilling time?"
"that may be the case for a lot of bars, but not this one." joshua had been going to that bar for years, and was on a semi-friendly basis with most of the staff due to how many times a week he frequented the place. "it's more of a lowkey, lounge type of place than your typical kind of a bar. you might be better suited for the one a few blocks over. it's a lot more lively," he suggested, nursing his second glass of whiskey for the evening. "because i'm here pretty much every night if i can make it before closing. they've got some of the best whiskey in the city." he looked at the other, curiosity in his eyes. "and why are you here?"
"So this place is more of a whiskey lounge then." He said before clicking his tongue at the mention of the best in the city. "You know you shouldn't be making that claim to a Scotsman. it's kind of my cultures forte for this kind of stuff." They replied back looking at the glass the other was sipping from. "I'm looking for some new spots to try out some new stuff. Nothing feels right hearing it in a studio. I need to hear how it performs live."
Viv could never be at home . Her place felt empty and her ind needed to be in a creative space to get any work done so it was no surprise she often found herself at old venues when they weren't really open , finding a spot at the bar to drink and get lyrics on paper . ❝ You can see me ? ❞ Viv asked, eyes dramatically wide with surprise before she laughed at her little joke at being a ghost . ❝ It's still pretty early for this place , doesn't come to life until closer to midnight - like Cinderella . ❞ It was one of the things she'd grown to love about this place .
The joke prompted Seamus to laugh lightly. "Oh yeah, I can see you my ghostly friend. I've got a sixth sense." He added, tapping their temple for emphasis. The Cinderella comparison only made them scrunch their nose. "Wouldn't it be the opposite of Cinderella? She went to shite at midnight, you know, the whole carriage to pumpkin thing happened then. Feels more like Night at the Museum if it comes to life at a certain hour."
" stop being a pessimist . they could be the best nine people you could ever meet , " dylan , not so much an optimist as someone who just liked to bounce around , making the most of anything . " have you no faith in yourself ? in your abilities ? don't quit before you've even tried , " blind encouragement although mainly wondering whether he would attempt to win over the current crowd .
"Oh, you mean like that age old party question who in history would you invite to dinner. Well, I guess if I saw Steve McQueen and Joan of Arch having a nosh together I would think differently." They answered to a question never asked. "Oh, fuck, come on this shite isn't really anyone's siren call of destiny bar to make it alive with the perfect crowd. I think tonight is not the night for an impromptu performance. "
"I wouldn't know, this happens to be my first time here," Wren spoke, seated up front right by the bar, only ordering her first round a few minutes prior. The girl had heard through the grapevine about a divey place in the city, a place a little more lowkey that she wanted to check out. "If you need a drinking buddy for the next little while, I'll be here and could always use a friend."
"First time for us both then. Congratulations to Us." They replied. It was the offer next that had Seamus pause for a second before deciding to take the seat next to their new companion for the evening. "Alright, i'll take you up on that then. And what is my new friend drinking?"
