It was sooooooooo beautiful swimming with these little guys this morning. It's been a bad summer for underwater because of the passing hurricanes, browning out the coastal waters with the rain they have been bringing. I haven't shot underwater in months because of it, but I was pretty keen to take a look this morning and was delightfully surprised to see so much sea life going. Numerous large schools of fish and quite a few Hawaiian sea turtles. These two were just hanging out, having a seaweed breakfast. They were totally cool with me being there too. ....so, I guess we are now expecting the strongest El Nino conditions ever this year. Could mean a lot of this. The strongest recorded El Nino year so far was actually the same year that I photographed Noah Johnson winning the Eddie Akau big wave invitational at Waimea Bay. The year was 1998. This is already the warmest year on record. Even the ocean right now is said to be 84 degrees.

This is a great look behind the scenes of the 2007 Alma Surf Art tour. Like Jay said, it was two weeks, but loads of downtime, so lots of creativity happening everywhere, we went. I have this picture hanging in my home, Great memories.

I'm holding my first big slide show at up at Bird's Surf Shed in San Diego on Friday, April the 3rd. I really look forward to the summer months here on the north shore. The whole place becomes like a huge pool full of crystal clear water, complete with turtles, huge schools of fish, even dolphins.
