INTERVIEW: Sean Fitzgerald (@seanfitzgeraldphoto)

Who are you ?

I’m a 28 year old artist living in Washington State. I love apples and giraffes, among other things.  Qui êtes-vous ? // Je suis un artiste âgé de 28 ans et je vis dans l’Etat de Washington. J’aime les pommes, les giraffes, entre autres choses.

What is inspiring you at the moment ?

I’m not sure what it is, it just comes to me. I think it’s a desire to explore the world, and a need to express myself. I just moved back to my hometown to help with my parents messy divorce and there are many emotions coming up, even from childhood, that are asking to be expressed. I’m inspired by everyday moments. It’s usually great or unusual lighting that draws me in and the photograph just jumps out at me. Something is driving me to go out and shoot almost every day, and it even gives me hints as to when to push the shutter button. Qu’est-ce qui vous inspire en ce moment ? // Je n’en suis pas sûr, je laisse les choses venir à moi. Je pense que c’est mon désir d’explorer le monde, et un besoin de m’exprimer. Je viens tout juste de revenir m’installer dans ma ville d’origine pour aider mes parents qui traversent un divorce difficile et beaucoup d’émotions font surface, dont certaines venant même de mon enfance, quiet elles demandent à être exprimées. Quelque chose me pousse à sortir et prendre des photos presque tous les jours, et cela me guide lors de pousser le déclencheur.
