@amaritus ‘you will come back with a bride and groom or you had better not come back at all.’ matthias still flared with rage remembering the way their father had looked on with such contempt, especially as the older man, his father, his lord and king had turned that cold gaze on his twin. he could still feel the petite redhead almost flinching under the ferocity of it and wanted nothing more than to shield her from their father’s ire. the matter, no matter what either of them felt was already settled, sealed with the king’s word and within the month the journey to amaritus was organised. it took a further two months to even reach their destination. a few days later and the ambrose children were as settled as possible - their debut to the snow court had been largely successful and now the real work began. matthias loved his father, as any son does but that didn’t mean that he agreed with the other; it was clear now that he must have a wife and he knew his father meant the princess rosalind. he hated to think how badly it might turn out if he returned home without the bride his father wanted. dressed against the wind he could not help but notice how much colder this season was in the snow court ( perhaps aptly named for that reason ) than it was at home. the time to woo the princess was now, all matthias needed was sufficient reason to approach her and before long he found the woman in question - talking with another.
