With the end of the school fast approaching and finals coming up, it’s time for me to sign off of Seattle U Student Voices. Thank you all for a great year! The following photos represent my favorite moment from of each month of my sophomore year, but there are just so many fond memories of the last nine months–two shows, lots of admission events, a few snow days, and some fun adventures around the city. Thank you for taking this journey with me through my sophomore year! For all you prospective students, I hope your college experience is wonderful (whether it is at Seattle U or not). My advice to you is to take risks–don’t be afraid to apply to or visit a school that may be a little bit out of your comfort zone or choose a major or minor that seems risky. Make the decision that you feel is best for you! I wish you all the best of luck!

i got to see an early screening of the new movie ‘Yesterday’ last night, and i loved it! AMC Pacific Place has a lot of advanced screening for people in the Seattle area. So cool!

My roommates (minus one, who was home for the long weekend) and I at the beach! It’s crazy to think that we only have a few more weeks together before we spread out all over the world to study abroad—me to England, Savannah (in the middle) to Costa Rica, and Sarah (on the end) to New Zealand.

While it rains in Seattle, it usually doesn’t poor—except for yesterday! I was up in the sixth floor of the library when it started pouring rain, which rarely happens. Crazy weather for the end of May!

Today I did an escape room with my friends that was a head-to-head: we split into two groups of four and saw who could escape first! super cool and competitive (and my team won!)

I had a great time at Quadstock this year! Here’s a clip of the band The Odd Kids playing. They’re made up of Seattle U students and they rocked!

Love and Information at the Lee Center! This show was directed by one of my friends, and it’s great to support the arts at SU.

I pressed the cherry blossoms that I found on the ground outside of the Arrupe House, and now they look like this! Even though the blossoms are gone now, I have these cute little reminders of spring 🌸

At Dance Marathon this year I won two tickets to Quadstock—excited to see all of the bands perform tomorrow!

Due to a very generous donation from a charity that exposes young people to the opera, a dozen other students and I were able to see Seattle Opera’s production of ‘Carmen’ for free! It was my first time going to the opera and I had a great time. The singers are crazy talented and we were so close to the stage!

Last month I went to Seattle U’s Queer Prom, and the photos from the photo booth just came in! It’s cool to look back at such a fun and inclusive event.

Every winter and spring quarters Seattle University’s Campus Ministry holds a retreat called Search, which is about discovering the love you express and receive in the world. This past weekend, I joined them on this retreat at a camp 45 minutes away from the city and I had a wonderful time! It was great to get away from the busy school life and technology (I rarely had my phone with me the whole weekend, and this was the only picture I took), and to take time for myself. Not only that, but the retreat taught me so much about my relationship with self-love and community and about how much I am loved in the world! Just like SU, you don’t have to be religious to go on Search, and I would highly recommend going on it some time during your time at school.
