âI thrive off of danger and I love the excitement.â
He looked up at the darkening sky. Here he was King and a God among man and beast. It explained why he lacked the fear of the vampire before him. He opened his eyes, still it took energy to show that skill and he was out of practice due to not finding reason to use it.
And just like that, the vampire was gone.. and he heard the final death cry of an unfortunate Lost Boy that he was sure was innocent in all this. Sebastian was not taking it all in stride and was indeed starving. âShouldâve just shot him through a portal..â It wouldâve been funny if he fell through the portal and ran right into or through a wall.. but Pan wasnât fast enough and he just sat where he was.
âYou noticed it now, didnât you?â He asked the air, knowing the vampireâs ears could hear even if he had whispered. âThe pull, the need⊠the need for more of whatâs in these veins.â Sebastian had no time to know how much power that gave him thankfully, so he was grateful that the vampire was ignorant.
Seeing him walk into his line of vision and the accusing made him dramatically put a hand on his heart and pretended to look offended. âI am testing you, laddie. Besides itâs fun seeing you with fear in your eyes. But why do something so simple? You now know what power I have⊠a mere sun burn is the last thing you should fear from me⊠Why do I not fear you, dear Sebastian? Because you are my prey, my toy. Of all the things I can do to kill you.. that should scare you.â
Peter grinned at him. He wasnât scared of Sebastian because he was more powerful than this child before him. He was an inch from Sebastian in a blink of an eye⊠fingers touching over the cooling blood, gathering the droplets on his fingers from the otherâs chin⊠and began to lick it off his finger tips. âWhy torch you after Iâd done so much to help you survive? Iâm hurt you assume Iâd revive you just to watch you fry⊠hurt but you arenât wrong. But if it comes to that, itâs because of you being stupid, laddie. And maybe the most merciful death Iâd give you.â
He looked into the otherâs eyes. âWhy would I kill a dear old friend, anyway? Weâre both legends. And again, this is a little test. I donât need you running off to find your Elizabeth.. you say youâre over her or to dangerous, but you will go back like a loyal dog in heat⊠and you need a leash for at least tonight.â
He waves his hand and a portal appeared near them that shown a city in the night. âAnd I donât need you eating any more of my Lost Boys, it takes forever to bury them.â He walks towards the portal. âI am hungry, while I hate Earth, I canât argue that they have some good food.
What say, a night on the town? We both get dinner. Me, getting a buffet, you dining on the place if you want.â He wasnât going to stop Sebastian. âDo impress me, will you? I donât like the idea that youâve gotten rusty in your old ageâ He teased.
âYou noticed it now, didnât you? ... The pull, the need⊠the need for more of whatâs in these veins.â
The words... he could hear them as if Peter were speaking them next to his ear. Ohhh he hated it. Yes. Yes, he could feel that craving dripping like the sweetest candy melting down across his tongue, and it was making everything in his body and veins squeeze. He wanted it like nothing he had ever tasted before. The one thing he was proud of aside from his lovely title of fear from his days of pirating, was in fact, his self-control, and this ... well, this was unexpected to behold.
But it tasted so different from the human blood he has quenched his hunger with for so long... it was raw... something very old and pure - powerful, even mixed with that of the childâs. The child had it, too.
Sebastian shivered as he tossed the boy to the side and returned to the camp where this strange Peter Boy was. His eyes were dark, and his teeth clenched.
âI am testing you, laddie. Besides itâs fun seeing you with fear in your eyes.â
âYOU .... do not know what testing is, Peter.â He tried not to inhale, his words tight and almost a low growl. He could smell him .. and his little boy.
It was true, though. He had gone through far worse torment than any Faery or Neverland King could do. âI am not afraid of you,â he lied. He lied so much he barely even knew what the truth was anymore because he was afraid of everything now... the New World, losing Elizabeth, never being free, never being able to return a sense of home and what he had ever known... not even if he escaped from there.Â
And then Peter was right in front of him - too close to not breathe but a little- and Peter had his fingers on his chin, collecting the blood as he licked it.
âWhy torch you after Iâd done so much to help you survive?â
This was where in normal circumstances, he would have politely and soothingly told Dear Peter that he was going to eat him and to be quiet. But he couldnât, now, could he?
Sebastian smiled at the mention of him running off to find Elizabeth... and then Peter opened a portal to some city of that modern world he so disliked. He really was going to let him eat, then...
âAnd I donât need you eating any more of my Lost Boys, it takes forever to bury them.â
âAll right...,â he slowly said with a thick accented tone. âDinner it is. But I have nothing to impress of you.â He leaned in just a hint to put his lips closer to his ear. âI donât care a bit what you think of me. I will eat you and your son in a heartbeat ... and then hang your corpses off my ship as bait for the fish.â
With that, Sebastian smiled, stepping back from Peter with his arms extended as he rounded to the portal, stepping in. âComing?â
