I think most of us have seen and probably done that GIGANTIC tsc ship ranking on SORTR by @rhiannons-bird. What a fun thing that was, having to choose between Gabrily and KitTy... and Herongraystairs and Kieraktina... and Jessa and Wessa...

ANYWAYS- after doing some digging on SORTR to see if there were ones that only included the characters themselves, I realised that those only included the TV show version or only certain types of characters so that got me thinking: What if there was a SORTR with all the characters of TSC?- okay, not ALL of them obviously, but the major ones and a few notable ones (am i biased? Maybe :p)

If you want me to make things harder for everyone, feel free to ask me to throw in more items. Maybe make it 500 items 😊😊😊 (we'd be stuck in sortr for hours on end if that were to happen lol)

Also I know TSC character showdowns exist from time to time but those are technically a team effort and the characters that win might not be your personal pick

With all that said- waste your time wisely, take a million breaks if needed, have fun and try not to kill each other over this!

Here are my too ships from each series

Tmi: Malec I love there dynamic once they discuss their problem with each other and I loved watching these 2 struggle with their relationship and learn what they couldn’t hide and they have gotten so far once they finally were able to fix their issues. I mean they got married and have 2 kids so I guess they fixed their problems and they’re just so perfect for each other.

Tdi: Gabrily. I don’t know what I love but I knew the second they interacted with each other I was going to like them. They just worked well with each other and I just felt like they brought so much out of each other. They’re a bit chaotic but that why I like them. (Their not really that chaotic but yk) they just let each other in quickly when they barely knew each other but I don’t think thay was a bad thing in this scenario since they already interacted with the same people cause. When Cecily came she already knew will cause yk Thats her brother. It was also cause neither of them were at the institue until then ao it wasn’t a surprise they got along quick.

Tda. Kierakrtina. I love their dynamic. What a duo in this relationship can’t do the trio could do it easily. With these 3 they closed the gap really easily and ai knows one people sayKieran andCristina son’t work but I don’t think thats true and i’m not going to elaborate on that rn if people want I could elaborate on that in another post cause this isn’t about the 2 of them. This also helped Mark choose both fairie and the shadowhunters .

Tlh- Thomstairs. I love this dou. The scene where they were they were in the institutes prison really made me like this dou because I saw their connection and they were really open to each other about how they felt. Their connection only grows stronger as time goes by.

Cause I said I was going to do this its time to do this watch me post this a week after I started it then I might forget and take even longer i’ve done that before. Aaaaanyway I will start if you guys like this you should thank @sophideonprotector for giving me the idea to do this. After the first 3 it’s not in the exact order I like them but their definitely characters I like a lot. Ok so on to it. Here are my top 20:

1.Kit Herondale if you guys saw my top 3 list then you will know Kit Herondale is the one I put on top and I think I said something like I don’t know why he is up here and in a way I still don’t I guess its really his personality that hit me and I know i’m going to keep loving him even when twp is out because I just really like him and I need to watch him be happy with his choices.

2.Alastair Carstairs I’m pretty sure I put Julian here last time so I guess my top 3 has kind of changed but like his still in my top 3 I just switched their spots and i’m probably going to do it again. I guess I just liked his personality once I found out how he really was and how much he actually cares.

3.Julian Blackthorn I’m pretty sure I put Alastair here last time. I won’t elaborate cause I did that before. I think what I like about him is how he would do anything for his family and just the fact that he is such a morally gray character just makes me love him more.

4.Lily Chen. I just love how she is so funny it will be so sad if she dies in twp. She was someone that I started liking really quickly and something about her was just so likable for me. I definitely how funny she is.

5.Maia Roberts. This is kind of getting harder since it’s been so long since I read tmi but it’s def her personality. There are other things but I feel like I would have to reread to get specifics but ig I just love who she is and ik shes so capable and strong and it only makes me love her more.

6.Isabelle Lightwood. I literally remember the first time I read tmi and I really liked her. Its definitely how much she cares about the people around her and how shes always got the peoples she loves back no matter the situation.

7.Alec Lightwood. His definitely an interesting character and I loved watching him grow and realize who he truly was and how capable he was like I know if past him knew that he was going to be consul he definitely wouldn’t have believed it.

8.Raphael Santiago. What don’t I love about him. I just love how he acts like he hates everyone but it reality he doesn’t and when he sacrificed himself for Magnus it really showed how much he cared. He will always be someone I will always like as a character.

9.Cecily Herondale. I definitely liked her the second she was introduced. Like I don’t really remember much from the tdi cause its been some time but I feel like from the second she walked in her personality just kind of bounced of her and you could just tell the type of person she was. If I remember correctly I’m pretty sure she just starts arguing with Will like almost instantly.

10.Anna Lightwood.She definitely one of the character that I have liked almost right away. I definitely like how shes got confidence in who she is and isn’t afraid to just be her. There are like a bunch of other things I like about her like how she was able to just be herself when the type of things she liked didn’t necessarily work with that generation and what I mean by that is how she dresses.

11.Gabriel Lightwood.Honestly I just like how petty he can be about some things and just when you slowly really get to know him I loved seeing the type of person he was and generally just what he was capable of. I don’t really know what I like about him because it’s been so long since I read tdi and thats where i’m getting what I like about him so I need to reread that series i’ll get to it eventually.

12. Tessa Gray. I didn’t really like her much in tdi but that was probably mostly cause she was a teenager and was doing dumb shit so I guess I can’t really blame her for it. When she was introduced in tmi I definitly liked her a lot and I loved seeing her in tda and will probably love seeing her in twp

13.Dru Blackthrorn. I honestly loved seeing her in tda and I know I will love her pov in twp. I feel like she is just much an interesting character and shes just been thorough so much already and will only go through more and I can’t wait to see her beautiful journey and just seeing her see herself the way she is and just realizing that she is amazing.

14.Ty Blackthorn. It didn’t take long for me to like Ty. I don’t exactly know what I like about him but i’ll try giving something. If I really had to say what I liked about him I guess its just who he is and how his not like the others and how being different isn’t a bad thing. His one of the people we see who’s different from the others but that only makes him stand out more (ik standing out sometimes can be a bad thing but in this scenario I say its a good thing)and I know it will be great when we see his pov even if we won’t see much of it.

15.Mark Blackthorn. I just love how funny he is and how his unafraid to be himself and just all the out off pocket stuff he says. Like when he first came back.

16.Kieran Kingson. I honestly don’t remember much of what my initial thought on him were but I don’t think I liked him much but it didn’t take long for him to grow on me and I can’t wait to see more of him in twp and how the unseelie king life is treating him I know I have kind of seen it but I can’t wait to see more.

17.Cristina Rosales. She just a badass and knows who she is and believes so strongly in the things and people she believes in and its always great to see characters like her who know what they want and arn’t afraid to put their opinion out there.

18.Emma Carstairs. Just like Cristina she is such a badass and it’s hilarious how shes a terrible liar. I just love how strong she is and how capable she is and I hope she get some peace in twp well as much as she can get with everything going on.

19.Thomas Lightwood. His such an interesting character and I loved seeing him tlh. He definitely knew what he wanted and I don’t know what i’m talking about but uuum I just like him ok theres not much else to say. But I definitely loved seeing him and just seeing how amazing he is

20.Clary Fairchild. I still remember the first time I read tmi and how she was forced to go into a world she knew nothing about and how she endured all the shit that was thrown at her and as annoyed as I was with a lot of the dumb shit she did in the end of the day I see her as an amazing and talented character and I can’t wait to see her in twp.

I know I put these lovely characters as my top 20 but there are so many other character I loved this was hard to do and so fun too. There are just so many characters that are precious to me I can’t wait to see some of these characters again in twp. I know I will love them just as much as I love them now. I honestly wasn’t expecting to get this done in 2 days. I’m also i’m kind of bored so I think i’m going to make this a tagging game so if you get tagged you can do this if you want or just ignore it.

I was kind of thinking of posting this and we have a release date for tlkof and I haven’t posted in a while so I think this would be a good time to talk about this. Livvy. Just Livvy. I have so much to say about her but I wanted to talk about how I think that Livvy should go back to being dead like she is an amazing character I loved reading about her in tda and wished she didn’t die. But this needs to happen. Here is my reasoning for why I think this:

1.Livvy died in the los and Ty didn’t really bring her back probably. And we already know that there are some consequences for what Ty did and those consequences affect both Ty and Livvy. I feel like those consequences are going to get worse and the only way they will be able to fix their issue is getting Livvy to leave the world completely and probably resting like she was before Ty tried to being her back to life.

2. When Livvy is first brought back by Ty in qoaad Livvy says how Ty shouldn’t have done that and how she was resting peacefully. Well it was something like that i don’t remember what she said exactly it’s been some time since I read it but she wasn’t happy about it and didn’t really want to come back to life.

3. I think Livvy finally leaving would also be good closure for Ty and I know Ty’s going to be upset when she leaves but it just doesn’t make much sense for her to stay especially since she already died and like I said in point 2 Livvy didn’t really seem to want to come back to life and she was really mad at Ty for trying to being her back. (I don’t remember the exact details its been sone time sense I read qoaad)

While those are my opinions for now I well probably have more to say about this once tlkof come out and i’ll just post more about this if I have any more ideas about it.

Is Shadowhunters a romantasy book???

how do you guys feel about romantasy? 'cause for me it feels like people are naming anything romantasy and usually only for books written by woman. The best example of this is The Hunger Games. People are calling this romantasy. In what world? Its not fantasy and its not about romance. Im not going to develop this, if u have ur braincells working then u would agree at least about that.

Second, Im not against romantasy I actually like it, it might not be my fav genre but I would read a romantasy book without batting an eye. My problem is that the moment that a book has a little of romance or a straight up sex scene in it, they are calling it romantasy when what they shuld be focusing is about what is the main topic of the book. I dont care how many sex scenes the book has if the main topic for what the book narrative move its another thing, like power-politics.

Why do I say this? Before tiktok romantasy was not a thing, at least in the spanish countries since the word is in english, we now use it like that to. But despite that, i have not seen about that word before either, ut maybe thats muy fault idk)

Why do i say this again? People are saying Shadowhunters is romantasy and i took a time to myself to think about it. Is this romantasy? does the romance take the mayor light over the politics, power and other issues that this books present us? I dont think so. THERE IS romance, and some yearning life time romance we had seen in this books, and love moves a lot of the characters to do some things or not, but the politics and the magic-system of the book is what is movig the narrative, the plot, everything that happens in the book is fantasy over romance so I was just figuring what other people thoughts are about this?

I find this so interesting and I have to agree that shadowhunters is not romantasy. I didn’t even know there was a thing as romantasy until I read this post but I can definitely say that shadowhunters is not a romantasy book. There is a lot of romance in every series but the main point isnMt the romance and yea the romance can play a major role in the books but it is not the main plot line it may help or hurt what is happening in the plot but it is not the main plot of the series. Yeah a lot of the tsc books have romance and sex scenes in them but something that is always near those scene’s is the main plot arising to a new level as the series takes off. The romance is just something that is in the side and not the main plot of any tsc book it just can somtimes affect the plot.

I love how kit wants to learn who Irene is. Like he is definitely wondering who this Irene is and how important this Irene is to Ty. Can’t wait for Kits reaction when he meets Irene.

So basically Cristina was in her travel year and she obviously goes to the la institute for it. When she comes Mark will be outside the Institue once Cristina puts her bags in the institue she decides that she wants to go on a walk. Kieran wanted to leave and get away from the unseelie court. They all bump into each other. Obviously them being them they all decided to talk to each other and learn that they have more in common with each other. Once they are done talking Cristina and Mark go back to the l.a institute together. That is when Mark learns Cristina is staying in the l.a institue for her travel year. They all meet every other week and at some point Kieran just started breaking into the l.a institue.

What's something you would change about tsc if you could?

I was not expecting this but thanks for the ask. This is definitely a really hard question to answer but if I could change anything about tsc I would:

Livvy not dying like that death was just depressing like the way she died was horrible. Just watching all the blackthorn reactions.

Kit not leaving. If livvy was alive he probably wouldn’t have left so this wouldn’t even have been a problem anymore.

Helen and Aline not getting exiled and running the la institute instead. This would have got rid of some tda problems.

Simon not having to lose his memories. We wouldn’t have had so many problems with Isabelle and simon.

The la institue never getting attacked this would have stopped mark from going to the wild hunt. In my au Kieran, Mark and Cristina would have still met but it would have been different. I am not going to elaborate on it but if someone wants me to elaborate I will do it in another post.

Kieran would have also never went to the wild hunt.

Christopher would have never died.

Jesse would have been alive but he would have been born a few year later so that he didn’t have a huge age gap with Lucie. He would have been as James

Alec and Magnus would have never broken up instead they would have found a different way to fix their problems.

Alastair would have been friends with Thomas, Christopher, Matthew and James earlier. i imagine Thomas and Alstair got together quicker.

Dru heard Clary make a noise, a sort of strangled gasp. Maybe because this man, this stranger, looked so much like Jace. Maybe because a heavy crossbow, of clear faerie workmanship, was braced against his shoulder, its bolt trained squarely on Dru’s chest.

I an almost done reading lord of shadows and it is just as depressing as the first reread. Especially be cause i knew beforehand this time and I was trying to mentally prepare for it but I still wasn’t ready. Like Livvy just look at the knife and doesn’t pay much attention to it instead she says Ty’s name. And Ty falling at the same time as Livvy just tells you how bad his reaction was and the way Julian runs to Livvy and tries to heal her. It’s like everything else going in paused and we are just seeing the blackthorns because they are the only ones who didn’t pause.

Magnus definitely just realized that the impossible is possible. Like he definitely learnt that if you think you can’t find someone crazier then the people yk you definitely can it is very possible. Kieran obviously doesn’t want to be here but atp he doesn’t have a choice. Like he got himself in this position and now he can’t get out but, like Magnus was saying it was his decisions that lead him here. Like he decided to hang with a bunch of crazy people so, that kinda proves he is crazy too.This us always going to be one of my favorite scenes
