When hanging out with Pen, he’ll tell you that he doesn’t like using weapons because he’s following the light’s teachings, and it’s to the extent that gifting him weapons or defense equipment will get a negative reaction from him, but if you go to the church dormitories before 10am you will find him doing sword training with Burgess.

I like how he doesn’t impose his preference for barehanded fighting onto him, I think it shows he is invested in seeing Burgess get stronger and to be reasonably able to defend himself, even with the added help of a weapon.

Pen carries himself with a lot of bravado, and displays an obnoxiously hypermasculine personality all meant to distract from his fear of failure and weakness. But it’s interesting and kind of charming to see how perceptive and adjustable he can be when it comes to weakness in others.

I know there’s a huge spoiler regarding him that I’ve managed to avoid so far, but I swear if it contradicts this interpretation I’m gonna scream lol. I just like when big strong characters know when they should be gentle without having to be told to, even if they’re a bit clumsy about it.

Finished that Kiln mission for Amirah and she mentioned that Arvio used to let himself get “pushed around” so she wanted to set an example for not tolerating disrespect. man… the thought of Arvio getting bullied DISTRESSES me but this gives more insight as to why he tries so hard to be liked

According to the wiki Pen and Owen don’t confess, but Qi and Arvio do. I managed to hit friend status with Arvio and Qi within two days, I was really trying to even out RP points among all of them, but WOW I showed interest in Arvio once and the second we become friends he confesses the following day? One line during that picnic was all it took? ✋😭

Qi is such a prick LMAO after completing operation de geeglate he said the tram system collapsed because the structure was weak from wear, and couldn’t bear Justice’s weight. Then, when I visited him after accepting Pen’s request to build him a bigger mirror he called him a homunculus???!!!!(&@@!!
