WELL. Over two weeks ago myself and my day one @kirbycalvin released something we've been talking into fruition since before we came to New York three years ago. Birds of a Feather is @boafstudio and it's a space, a way, a standard in which we've always created and want to keep making our work with you as a creative studio. How you treat people when you do what you do. Does your image narrative of a person help them see themselves, help you see yourself. Hoping to leave you standing empowered. We've explored new grounds in video, storytelling, mixed media, layered portraits, vignettes of who the fuck you are. We are proud and excited about this. At this same time of something really good my own personal life hit a super low and my mental health honestly not only made it hard to even make this Instagram post but to feel like I could be in my own body or want to be here. Heavy, invisible shit. After a dark ass two weeks I've reached a point of cutting the chord and not looking back and am finally ready to grow into my brightness. I imagine this is what some sense of self love feels like, a devotion to the happiness I deserve. To everyone who's been there when shits been dim and I couldn't see myself, I see you. To all the bomb ass fire folks (hey @psa.official, @jaharastyles, @hellobosco...) who got intimate and expanded before us, I'm grateful for all that you are. To @littleshan91 for your time and talent in building us an amazing site over a year of the seed being planted and understanding being human. And to @kirbycalvin for having a capacity to love beyond. You keep me light and evolving through the years, it's superhuman and I am so excited to see where we take this. Where would we be without our community! So yes. Complicated ass feelings and a shook heart but sending prayers and thoughts to my Iranian brothers and sisters, whatever community you're in, thinking especially of my people in #tehran.
