stop making your redeemed shadow milks mentally fine. no. redeemed/rehabbed shadow milk would be having the worst fucking time of his entire life. not only does he have to completely destroy and reconstruct nearly every belief he has held, crumble what little identity he had managed to force together from those beliefs, he is also doing so while being forced into a situation that inherently destabilizes any control he could possibly feel. rehab-ing shadow milk is a shadow milk that is scared and mad and who hurts and hurts and hurts, but can't do ANYTHING with those emotions lest he be, say, imprisoned again. this is a shadow milk forced to grapple with how much he's been hurt and dehumanized and ignored and stomped on by the entire world, and what that would do to him now that he's lost every scrap of control he possibly had, COMBINED with his utterly failing physical state and all of the mental illness i'm sure he's left untreated

God. I adore the update so much. PURE VANILLA HERE BAGGING THE NERDS WHO GO MAD OVER THEIR THESIS RESEARCH I always thought that White Lily had far more parallels with Shadow Milk when it comes to knowledge and answers. And the way I played the update, clapping like a seal when they interacted akjdsfh I'm holding myself back from drawing her because I'm waiting for the next update.

The entire sketch page just cuz I adore Headmaster. Worth every single rainbow cube.

Pure Vanilla Cookie kills me by the way. It's so admirable how much he cares about other people, how much hope is in his heart, how much he wants to be better each time he 'fails' to protect, how much love he has for people and for cookie-kind in general.

But with that comes so much guilt that isn't deserved. As if he believes he has a moral imperative to never be wrong, to never falter, to never be human (or..cookie, i suppose, but i feel like that wording would have been less clear).

It is not Pure Vanilla Cookie's job to save everyone, to fix everything, to piece together what is broken with his own hands and never rest until he can. It is not Pure Vanilla Cookie's job to walk into hell believing he may never return out of guilt for even simply living while she does not.

And I never know whether I'm more upset by his inability to care for himself half as much as he tries to care for other people, or touched by his endless determination to try to save everybody. I love Pure Vanilla Cookie so dearly.
