Joey Stuckey, Senate Records and Sociology Publishing have released “The Paragons” by Cliff Chandler. Cliff is a Macon author who wrote this mystery/thriller audio book that takes place in New York in the early 90’s. It is for mature audiences only and is not recommended for children under the age of 18.
Cliff is a true renaissance man born in New York City during the thirties, and spent part of his life in Macon, Georgia. He has worked as a taxi driver, Hospital Aide, Paramedic, Professional Photographer – German School of Photography, Jazz Musician-- The New Muse, and an editorial writer for a local newspaper. Chandler was trained and served as a Special Officer in the New York City Police Department, but spent most of his time as a private detective and as Assistant to The President of John C. Mandel Security Bureau. His education includes: BFA, Pratt Institute, Brooklyn, New York, Masters Writing courses at New York University, and editing classes at The New School. His photograph hangs in private collections all over the world and in museums here in America. He has written a book of poetry, Chants, Rants, and Raves, and ten novels, three of which are published, The Paragons, Vengeance Is Mine, and Devastated.
“The Paragons “is narrated by Derrick Barrett and is about a girl, Elizabeth Crainsworth, daughter of Ellis Crainsworth, who is found murdered in a Bronx apartment on Boston Road. The murder is thought to be drug related and the crime-ridden area is known for prostitution and drug dealing. The family has refused to comment on their daughter’s murder, and the police have been evasive about the crime. The question is, “What was Elizabeth doing there?” Come follow the investigation and its long mysterious trail to find out just how far it will lead.
“I am really pleased as a Maconite to receive recognition. I was managing editor of the Ballardite, the Ballard Normal High School newspaper, here in Macon in the forties, where my first work was published. I have been a writer all of my life and majored in Art in College. The Paragons was my first published book and I am proud to say I wrote it in Macon, GA. The Paragons was successful and purchased all over the world. It is the first novel of a mystery trilogy. Joey loved the book and asked for permission to publish my book as an audio book. It took me three years to agree to his offer. It was his love and enthusiasm that convinced to take the step forward. Derrick our reader is a fine young author and a former member writers group that I conducted at Barnes & Noble in 2000. Joey is a musician and we met while playing music here in Macon. We are all Macon folks,” said Cliff Chandler, author of “The Paragons.”
Cliff will be available to sign books and the narrator, Derrick Barrett will do a short reading from the book.
NewTown is proud to sponsor with Cliff Chandler and Joey Stuckey to present “A Night of New York Elegance” as part of Friday Fest. Now every Friday is like First Friday in Downtown Macon.
