Australian photographer of the sensual art nude genre with a pre-raphaelite touch. Models are aged 19+ and ALL are taken with THEIR CONSENT and they are given an opportunity to veto the final manner in which they are portrayed. My direction is usually limited to general creative ideas, the resultant imagery is largely what THEY bring to the shoot and how THEY wish to express their own sensuality. The choice of nudity with limited Photoshop editing of their bodies helps to allow them to be more empowered individualized subjects expressing their own sensuality rather than being mere objects. The fact they are usually nude is almost irrelevant to the shoot as the aim is to create an aesthetic image combining their pose, figure, and my use of compositional elements, background, light, choice of focus, depth of field, exposure as well as tonal adjustments in post-processing. I love working with models, whatever their sexuality, and love to allow them to bring their own narrative, their own expressions, individuality and self-exploration with minimal over-direction by me, and I hope this comes out in my imagery. Shooting nude outdoors allows a person the wonderful opportunity to accept their body as it is, albeit by careful selection of camera angle, lighting and pose selection, while giving them the permission, reason and security to experience the wonderful freedom of being one with nature. I generally do not shoot fashion models, but just healthy women of various body shapes to show that there is more than one version of aesthetic beauty in the world - we can all be beautiful or at least creative and artistic (I often shoot grunge styles rather than beauty) in our own way and without resorting to surgical or Photoshop corrections of our body. I don't always get everything perfect in a shoot, and I do make errors, but as long as I learn from each shoot then that is my reward. All photos are copyright by Sensual Artz; I aim to create my own style of art nudes as a fascinating, aesthetic exploration of the female form, the freedom and empowerment which the nude form can bring to women, and its infinite representations given the enormous possibilities of differences between women, how they view and relate to their own bodies, their own individual personalities, and then how the body can be rendered in various environments with ever changing lighting. My preferred photographic style is the aesthetic sensual female form in nature with beautiful bokeh backgrounds. I select models we can all relate to - intelligent, wonderful women who you are likely to walk past in the street without even knowing it. I rarely if ever use a make up artist, and I don't Photoshop all their individuality out of their skin nor re-shape their bodies. You only live once its YOUR choice as to how you live it - don't let others take that away from you, and don't allow your creative mind to be constrained forever by fixed ideas that imprison how you think.
