Just read an article about a show, where the author complained about one woman asking a stranger for a pad at a party in her home. ("What makes her think a random guest at her party, who she’s never met in her life, would be carrying one to spare.")

And no, that's not quite the same as unexpectedly needing one while out and about, but. Has the author never run out, forgot to pick them up, and then realized "Shit I need something right now"???

Also I feel like asking a random woman if she happens to have a pad is. Maybe a little awkward, but not actually that strange? Am I crazy???

Attended a conference last week, and our comms folks published a social media post with some pictures. Which is fine! Great, even!

But OH MY GOD DID THEY HAVE TO USE THAT PHOTO OF ME

THE FINALE

The original plan was for the cake to be taller than the house, and for the balloons to sit directly on the top of the cake. As you can see, I... wildly misjudged things on that front ahaha.

So we pivot! The new idea was to have the balloons sit above the cake, and make fondant ribbons to connect them to the chimney. Creating and attaching the ribbons was a TRIAL, and I was a little concerned about whether the single dowel would be sufficient to hold the balloons upright in the cake, but it turned out really well!

...until I tried to move it ahaha

So. PIVOT AGAIN. Tried a few different things, and ended up closer to the original idea of the cake, with the balloons sitting directly on the top. And honestly? I'm happy with it!

And Hunter loved it, which was the whole point. At one point he even tried to open the door xD

#this morning was a little rough #the house cracked on the way over #aaaand the chimney fell off ahaha #plus figuring out the ribbons #but I got there in the end!#seolh bakes

The pool at this hotel is on the ground floor, and it isn't fully enclosed--the walls don't reach the ceiling. Which means the *entire* first floor, including the lobby AND the restaurant, smell lile pool.

Some, uh, interesting design choices at play here.
