We're going to watch an eclipse!!! We made a viewer; the line to get eclipse glasses that we saw earlier was probably multiple hours long. It won't be visible back home!

We've been at the top of a church tower for over twenty minutes so we could watch the Glockenspiel from up here, and it was my idea, but I'm NOT GOOD with heights, so anyway I feel like dying and my kid is so excited to be up here watching it that I just need to wait it out 😭 But every second of this is agony. How long does the Glockenspiel go for??? Let me leave!!!!

Someone on today's tour with us has an Air Tag and my phone just let me know one is "traveling with me." If we weren't on a tour bus with a bunch of people, that would be an alarming message to get.

I achieved one of my top goals today: making other people in public appreciate how hilarious I am.

We were on a tour of a castle and went into a room with an incredible mosaic floor:

And I asked my kids if we should have our floor at home done like it, and another woman there with her older kids overheard me and lost it laughing. A minute later I'm pretty sure she was telling her oldest kid what I said (it sounded like Italian so obviously I'm not certain but the sequence of events made it seem pretty likely).

So anyway that was great.

I went to Dunkin because it was hilarious to me, and the woman offered me sugar when she handed me my Biscoff latte. From Dunkin!!! Do you want to add more sugar to a flavored coffee from Dunkin lolol

I don't think Dog Man books are worth their weight to bring on a trip. My kid is a third through his latest one and we haven't even taken off! It's a hardcover!!!

There's a new update in the local alt weekly about my favorite local drama, which is a couple who own a couple of businesses including a bar/grill near my house (now closed, eviction being attempted) who have been building a 20,000sf (yes, really!) house with a direct view onto the freeway but partway through ran out of money. Now the house sits there unfinished (wrapped in teal moisture barrier) and people wonder about it all the time because it's huge and has been sitting there unfinished for over a year! And the couple gets mad whenever they are reported on because they want privacy while they deal with their financial matters, but it's an enormous empty teal-wrapped mansion looking straight out onto I-5! Thousands of people per day pass it and they're going to wonder about all the bad choices represented there! We assumed it was a mega church for a long time, to give you a sense of what this place looked like as it was being put up.

Anyway the latest is that they're attempting a type of bankruptcy reorganization of assets where in theory people could keep some of their assets rather than losing them all to pay debts (this type, Chapter 12, is evidently designed for when your asset is a farm that you need to retain to like, ever earn money again?) but they're requesting that they get to keep many of their assets, which according to the records include $770,000 worth of cars and trucks.

So that's the latest on my favorite local drama.

I haven't flown United in I guess years, and they have a very small personal item size limit and I'm not sure how strictly they enforce it. I can't find anything that will fit my laptop (which I want to use while flying) and meet the requirements.

We need to pack for Munich tomorrow and I am just too tired of deciding things! I will have to buy all new stuff there because I truly can't do things at the moment!

I am a naive little lamb or something over here because I literally don't understand how an airline can charge you money to sit next to your children (they're not really supposed to charge you for it but...) or have fares on international flights that don't include anything other than your personal item. That's completely ridiculous! That's not how things should work?? But ok I'm the idiot for thinking things should be normal I guess.

I'm considering going to the coffee shop I was at yesterday to get a t-shirt. If anyone doesn't need more clothing, it's me, but I keep looking at their cute shirts and considering it, so maybe I just will!!!
