~ How To Make A Crystal Bead Ear Cuff ~

You Will Need :

Ear Cuff base x 1, ball or flat head pins x 5, 5mm open jump rings x 10, 7cm trace chain x 5, 8mm facet glass bead x 1, 6mm facet glass bead x 1, 4mm facet glass beads x 4, 6mm crystal bicone beads, colour 1 (crystal ab) x 2, 6mm crystal bicone bead, colour 2 (fuchsia) x 1, 4mm crystal bicone beads, colour 1 x 2, 4mm crystal bicone beads, colour 2 x 2, 4mm crystal bicone beads, colour 3 (aquamarine) x 8

Instructions :

1. Slide beads on to the head pins in the order shown. With jewellery wire cutters, trim each pin leaving 1cm of spare wire above the final bead then turn a loop with round nose pliers.

2. With chain nose pliers, use a jump ring to connect each crystal dangle to one end of each length of trace chain.

3. With chain nose pliers, use a jump ring to connect each length of beaded trace chain to the ear cuff base. 

Options :

Substitute the beads of your choice, anything goes!

Substitute longer or shorter lengths of chain, it's up to you.

~ How To Make Sweet Valentine Earrings ~

You Will Need :

10mm foil glass puffy heart beads x 2, 2.5mm metal spacer beads x 4, 3mm metal spacer beads x 4, size 6° silver lined rocaille beads x 2, 30mm ball head pins x 2 and the earring wires of your choice.

Instructions :

1. Thread your beads on to the head pins in the order shown.

2. Turn a loop at the top of each head pin using round nose pliers.

3. Add your earring wires using chain nose pliers.

Options :

Substitute any 10mm focal beads of your choice for the heart beads.

Substitute any 4mm bead for the rocaille beads.

~ How To Make A Crystal Heart Necklace & Earrings ~

You Will Need :

10mm crystal heart pendant beads ( top side drilled, front to back) x 3, open pendant bails x 3, 6mm oval jump ring x 1, a fine trace chain necklace and the earring wires of your choice.

Instructions :

1. Hold a crystal heart so the hole sits between the prongs of a pendant bail. Gently squeeze the bail shut so that the crystal heart is captured and suspended. Add pendant bails to all three crystal hearts.

2. With chain nose pliers, use the oval jump ring to connect a crystal heart pendant with the fine trace chain necklace.

3. Add earring wires to the remaining crystal heart pendants using chain nose pliers.

Options :

Substitute butterfly, drop or flower crystal pendant beads.

Substitute an organza ribbon necklace for the chain.

This design is infinitely customisable & is ideal as a Valentine or Mother's Day gift.

~ How To Make Sequin Party Earrings ~

You Will Need :

24mm disc sequins x 2, 16mm disc sequins x 2, 10mm disc sequins x 2, size 6° rocaille beads x 8, 7mm jump rings x 4 and the earring wires of your choice.

Instructions :

1. Open a jump ring with chain nose pliers and thread on a rocaille bead, one of each disc sequin in size order and a rocaille bead. Close the jump ring securely.

2. Open a jump ring and thread on a rocaille bead, the jump ring from Step 1, a rocaille bead and your earring wire.

3. Check your earring wire is facing forward then close the jump ring securely.

Options :

Substitute side hole sequins of your choice for the disc sequins.

Substitute smaller, larger or more beaded jump rings to change the length.

~ How To Make A Sequin Ornament ~

We first shared this tutorial in December 2016 and it's become a bit of an annual tradition ever since!

You Will Need :

styrofoam ball in a size of your choice

sequins in the sizes and colours of your choice

sequin 'lill' pins

pva glue

optional : rocaille beads, generally size 11° or 8° work well

Instructions :

1. Place a sequin on a pin, dip the point into the pva and push the pin into the ball.

2. Place a sequin on a pin, dip the point into the pva and push the pin next to the previous one.

3. Keep creating new pins and pushing them into the ball until you have covered it completely.

optional : add a rocaille bead to your pin before you add the sequin

tip : you can draw a design on to your ball as a guide before you start to pin the sequins

~ How To Make Skull Earrings ~

You Will Need :

howlite skull beads x 2, metal snowflake spacer beads x 2, metallised lice beads x 4, 4x6mm crystal rondelle beads x 2, size 6° rocaille beads x 2, 50mm head pins x 2 and the earring wires of your choice.

Instructions :

1. Thread your beads on to the head pins in the order shown.

2. Turn a loop at the top of each head pin using round nose pliers.

3. Add your earring wires using chain nose pliers.

Options :

Substitute focal beads of your choice for the skull beads.

Substitute fire polished facet glass beads or crystal bicone beads for the crystal rondelle beads.

~ How To Make Pumpkin Earrings ~

You Will Need :

10x12mm crystal rondelle beads x 2, 6mm filigree bead caps x 4, snowflake spacer beads x 4, 3mm metal spacer beads x 4, 3.4m miyuki drop beads x 2, 50mm head pins x 2 and the earring wires of your choice.

Instructions :

1. Slide beads on to the head pins in the order shown. With jewellery wire cutters, trim each pin leaving 1cm of spare wire above the final bead.

2.  Turn a loop at the top of each head pin with round nose pliers.

3. Add your earring wires using chain nose pliers.

Options :

Substitute pressed glass druk beads for the miyuki drops.

Substitute pressed glass druk beads for the crystal rondelle beads.

~ How To Stitch Sequin Flowers, Style 5 ~

You Will Need :

navette sequins x 8, 8mm cup sequin x 1, rocaille beads (we used size 11° x 65), approx 1 metre of thread such as Nymo D, size 10/13 beading needle, tailor's chalk or heat erasable pen, scissors, ruler.

1. Mark a template as shown, approx 30mm across, mark the centre and eight equal radiating lines. Thread your needle,  secure the thread on the wrong side and stitch through to the front at the centre. Pick up an 8mm cup sequin and a bead and let them slide down your thread. Stitch down through the sequin. Pull the thread taut but not tight so the bead sits in the cup then stitch up where one of the lines meets the edge of the cup sequin.

2. Pick up a navette sequin and enough rocaille beads to fill the gap betweet the sequin holes, let them slide down your thread to rest against your work. Stitch down where the second hole of the navette sequin meets the line from your template. Pull the thread taut but not tight so the beads and sequin lie along the line. Making a 1mm stitch, bring the needle back up through the sequin's second hole and pull up your thread. Stitch through the rocaille beads again then stitch down through the sequin's first hole and pull up your thread. Pass the needle up where a line meets the edge of the central sequin. Tip : stitch the four cardinal point petals first then the four diagonal petals.

3. Repeat step 2 until you have stitched all 8 petals.  Secure your thread on the wrong side and trim close to your work. Use a hairdryer to erase the template if you've used a heat pen.

Options :

Substitute sequins of your choice for 8mm cup, anything goes, experiment with different shapes sizes or layers.

Substitute bugle beads for the rocailles on the petals or try larger or smaller beads, mix and match to see what works for you.

~ How To Make Little Birdie Earrings ~

You Will Need :

little birdie charms x 2, 6x8mm crystal rondelle beads, colour 1 x 2, 6mm crystal rondelle beads, colour 2 x 2, 25mm eye pins x 2 and the earring wires of your choice.

Instructions :

1. Slide beads in the order shown on to each eye pin. With jewellery wire cutters, trim each pin leaving 1cm of spare wire above the bead then turn a loop with round nose pliers.

2.  Add a beaded eye pin to the loop on each little birdie charm using chain nose pliers.

3. Add your earring wires to the top loop of each beaded eye pin.

Options :

Substitute the charm of your choice for the little birdie charms.. Substitute pressed glass druk beads for the crystal rondelle beads.

~ How To Make Heavenly Hoop Earrings ~

You Will Need :

angel wing charms x 2, 10mm pressed glass star beads x 2, 7mm jump rings x 2, 25mm head pins x 2 and the hoop earring wires of your choice.

Instructions :

1. Place a pressed glass star bead on to each head pin, as shown. With jewellery wire cutters, trim each pin leaving 1cm of spare wire above the bead then turn a loop with round nose pliers.

2.  Add a jump ring to the loop on each angel wing charm using chain nose pliers.

3. Slide the beaded head pin and the charm on to each

hoop earring wire.

Options :

Substitute the charm of your choice for the angel wing charm.

Substitute the beads of your choice for the pressed glass star beads.

~ How To Make Rosebud Swirl Earrings ~

You Will Need :

10mm lampwork glass beads x 2, size 6° rocaille beads x 6, 6mm metallised hogan beads x 2, 38mm head pins x 2 and the earring wires of your choice.

Instructions :

1. Slide the beads on to each head pin, as shown.

2. With jewellery wire cutters, trim each pin leaving 1cm of spare wire above the last bead then turn a loop with round nose pliers.

3. Add your earring wires using chain or flat nose pliers.

Options :

Substitute any 10mm glass bead of your choice for the lampwork beads.

Substitute any 6mm bead of your choice for the metallised hogan beads.

~ How To Make Crystal Rondelle Earrings ~

You Will Need :

10x12mm crystal cushion rondelle beads x 2, 4mm bead caps x 2, 6mm metallised lice beads x 4, 6mm crystal bicone beads x 2, 6x8mm crystal cushion rondelle beads x 2, 38mm head pins x 2 and the earring wires of your choice.

Instructions :

1. Slide the beads on to each head pin, as shown.

2. With jewellery wire cutters, trim each pin leaving 1cm of spare wire above the bead then turn a loop with round nose pliers.

~ How To Make Christmas Stocking  Earrings ~

You Will Need :

Christmas Stocking charms x 2, 4mm pearl glass beads x 2, 6mm metal snowflake spacer beads x 2, 3mm fire polished facet glass beads x 2, 25mm eye pins x 2 and the earring wires of your choice.

Instructions :

 1. Slide beads in the order shown on to each eye pin. With jewellery wire cutters, trim each pin leaving 1cm of spare wire above the last bead then turn a loop with round nose pliers.

2.  Add a beaded eye pin to the loop on each Christmas Stocking charm using chain nose pliers.

3. Add your earring wires to the top loop of each beaded eye pin.

Options :

Substitute the Christmas charm of your choice for the  Christmas Stocking ones.

Substitute pressed glass druk beads for the pearl glass beads.

~ How To Stitch Sequin Flowers, Style 4 ~

You Will Need :

7mm twisted bugle beads x 8, 8mm sequins x 9 (we used cup sequins), rocaille beads x 9 (we used size 9°), approx 1 metre of thread such as Nymo D, size 10 beading needle or sharps, tailor's chalk or vanishing pen, scissors.

1. Mark a template as shown, approx 30mm across, mark the centre and eight equal radiating lines. Thread your needle, bring the ends together so you are working with doubled thread, secure the thread on the wrong side and stitch through to the front at the centre. Pick up an 8mm cup sequin and a bead and let them slide down your thread. Stitch down through the sequin. Pull the thread taut but not tight so the bead sits in the cup then stitch up where one of the lines meets the edge of the cup sequin.

2. Pick up a bugle bead and let it slide down your thread to rest against your work. Stitch down where the edge of the bugle bead meets the line from your template. Pull the thread taut but not tight so the bead sits along the line then stitch up approx 4mm away from the bugle bead. Pick up an 8mm cup sequin and a bead and let them slide down your thread. Stitch down through the sequin. Pull the thread taut but not tight so the bead sits in the cup then stitch up between this sequin and the bugle bead. Stitch through the bugle bead again, pull up your thread then stitch down between the bugle bead and the central sequin. Pass the needle up where the next line meets the edge of the central sequin.

3. Repeat step 2 until you have stitched all 8 petals.  Secure your thread on the wrong side and trim close to your work.

Options :

Substitute sequins of your choice for 8mm cup, anything goes, experiment with different shapes and sizes.

Substitute bugle beads of your choice for the twisted ones, try longer or shorter plain or spiral bugles

~ How To Make Snowman Earrings ~

You Will Need :

Snowman charms x 2, 6mm fire polished facet glass beads x 2, 25mm eye pins x 2 and the earring wires of your choice.

Instructions :

 1. Slide a bead on to each eye pin. With jewellery wire cutters, trim each pin leaving 1cm of spare wire above the bead then turn a loop with round nose pliers.

2.  Add a beaded eye pin to the loop on each Snowman charm using chain nose pliers.

3. Add your earring wires to the top loop of each beaded eye pin.

Options :

Substitute the Christmas charm of your choice for the Snowman ones.

Substitute pressed glass druk beads or pearl glass beads for the fire polished facet glass beads.
