“Oh lords, you’re real!” July wasn’t expecting it to work. He was told once if he rubbed a lamp like the one he held, a genie would pop out and fulfill one of his wishes. Guess Raphael wasn’t joking around all those times…

I’m over 2000 years old, I think I can make a few generalizations. [He shakes his hair out, shaking any dust that may have collected on the lamp and himself since he was last let out. That was... a good few months at least. Geez, the cramped quarters were getting to him.] Now what kind of wishes do you have? And feel free to take your time, I’ve got nowhere to be.

Daisen hid behind his mother a bit, untrustworthy to strangers, unlike his mother who was still smiling widely and finding this conversation enjoyable.

“I have never heard of one being able to grant wishes before!” Mirage exclaimed, clasping her hands together. “How do you do it?”

“Mother…” Daisen muttered, looking back and forth between the two.

Glad you asked. Being a genie is tough work, ya know. [He grins, hardly paying attention to the boy’s worries.] We Immortals can have a hard time keeping a steady job and place what with strange powers and stuff, so some of us do temp work. That work is what’s known as a genie contract and in exchange for free food and shelter, we grant human’s wishes.

“Oh, I would be delighted to!” Mirage said happily, smiling. Daisen looked at his mother then back at the stranger. “M-mother… did you miss the part where he mentioned wishes?”

“Hm? Oh, I suppose I did. Well, that is all right!”

“D-did I also m-mention he is a s-stranger?!”
