OH BOY.  Okay, so… this is gonna sound off-the-wall bonkers, but I have a definite OTP for Katniss… Peeta...r… Parker.  Yes, you heard me.  Peter Parker.  Not Peeta, no thanks.

Back in a previous rp group, she met a Peter Parker who was, while a little too old to have a relationship with, a very close friend and mentor figure.  He was like the best of Peeta and Gale, rolled into one wholesome older brother and best friend for Katniss, and it was beautiful.  They had incredible chemistry and were SO fun to write interactions for.  I miss that relationship every day; it broke my heart to see their blog deactivated when the roleplayer left to pursue goals IRL. 

If there were to ever be a Spiderman: Homecoming aged Peter to appear in Spirale… I would very much want to see what the chemistry between him and Katniss would be and see if a relationship would be feasible based on that.

Katniss doesn’t have… the best reputation in her home ward.  While visitors and some locals enjoy her magic, anyone who knows her outside of her act finds her to be annoying at best.  She’s sullen and rude to most of the adults in the black market hubs she hangs out in.  Now that she’s beginning to find her way out of the low levels of Fibonacci and meet more people her age, her reputation is falling behind her and she’s finding it easier to make ‘friends’ or at the very least socialize without antagonizing everyone around her.

Character Survey of Doom

25. Describe the character’s thought process. Are they more logical, or more intuitive? Idealistic or practical? 

Katniss is an extremely pragmatic girl, having been more or less forced into a survivalist mindset from a young age.  She has a strong sense of intuition, but knows when to put her emotions aside and focus on the logistics of a situation so she and those she cares about can make it through whatever trials they’re facing.  While she’s proud to have preserved Prim’s youthful idealism, she has none of her own. 

27. What are their areas of expertise? What, if anything, are they interested in learning more about? 

Katniss is an excellent archer and forager, having spent most of her life subsisting on whatever she could bring home.  Hunger and desperation are strong motivators and excellent teachers, in the right circumstances.  That being said, now that Katniss has settled into a more stable lifestyle, she has some interest in learning how to heal the way her mother and Prim used to, and how to bake like Peeta.  Small reminders of home, and practical skills to boot.

Katniss is a street magician.  She specializes in sleight-of-hand, and her best tricks utilize fire.  She’s currently homeless and pretty poor, so her act is constantly evolving based on which cobbled-together tools she has access to.  She’s gotten pretty good at disassembling lighters and scrounging up flash paper and similar items to work with, but when supplies run short, she’s hard-pressed to find a way to wow crowds.

1. Katniss’s favorite bread is rye.  The spice and heartiness are something she’d never get in district twelve, except for somewhere like Peeta’s family’s bakery, and she thoroughly enjoys being able to purchase it regularly in Spirale.  She could spend a whole day on the Star Walk sampling different breads and not get tired of it.

2. Katniss sleeps with a weighted blanket, since neither Prim nor Peeta are here to sleep beside and the weight helps ease that loneliness and provide a small sense of security.  She’s slept with one since Hive City, and after arriving in Spirale, a weighted blanket was one of her first purchases once she got her bearings.
