SO as i was saying. this is just me rambling based on my incomplete memories of whichever episodes jimmy novak was in (was it like two eps or smthg? around season 5? anyway i havent rewatched them since 2015) but like LITERALLY im obsessed with him. like. hes just Some Guy hes literally just a dude. got a wife and a kid, devout christian, probably quietly homophobic/in the closet/both. i can see with my minds eye that he has a green ish 1995 honda civic. hes ur kinda nice and discreet neighbor who does the white people smile and vaguely waves at you when u see him take out the trash. smthg about the fact that he has a wedding ring (obviously) absolutely murders me for some unknown reason. BUT ALSO!!!!!!! a literal. LITERAL angel of the Lord Himself communicates with him OUT OF ALL PEOPLE ON EARTH and he sjfjjs just goes along with it. barely,,.,.questions it...........,.,doesnt hesitate a MINUTE to stick his ARM!!!!!!!!!!!! in BOILING WATER!!!!! because Angel Told Him To Do It. and then he agrees to become the vessel for this unknown terrifyingly powerful supernatural force of the universe without questions he just says "take care of my family" liek zjfbskd are christians just Like That or like. anyway hes the true blueberry shot man i adore him unironically

cas was fantastic because supernatural was about american men and being cool and tough and drinking beer and eating burgers and knowing about pop culture. but then cas shows up and he is tougher and older and has fought more battles and can drink more than sam or dean ever could, and he doesn’t give a fuck. all his power is just a vehicle to get what he really wants which is to look after bees and parent his kids and spend time with the man he loves. it’s often played for a joke but all those jokes accidentally made it canon that a sincere, nurturing queer man can beat the heroes of the story in every benchmark of traditional male success. that’s why he made the show great and that’s why the cw wanted him dead

I just spent way too much time to this… BUT! I took pictures of my mouth while saying “I love you” (and drew over them, because sharing close ups of my mouth.. well, nope.) These are the biggest mouth shapes that I made. And what we need to keep in mind is that I spoke slowly, making clear shapes with my mouth and in real life people don’t talk like that, we are lazy, we don’t make every letters shape with our mouth, we let them melt together, as long as we can make the sounds sound about right. 

So next I went through the purgatory prayer scene frame by frame and analysed it. And, well, “I” is pretty clear to even hear, but there is clearly the bigger a sound first and from there his mouth closes a bit, helping to turn it i sound, making “I”. For L you need to lift your tongue up, the scene is pretty dark and the angle makes it even harder to see, but when you compare the frame before and the frame where the tongue is up, you can see the difference. (it’s even clearer if you flip the frames back and fort in the video). In the o sound we see very typical laziness when speaking, the mouth doesn’t actually open, like when just saying “o”, but more of just, falls to a general vowel shape, that makes the o sound possible. From there he closes his mouth further, from this angle we can’t see the position of the lips clearly, but the shape sure makes a v sound possible. And finally, before he opens his mouth again for the “I don’t know-”, his lips clearly make y/u-shape, his mouth gets small, smaller than for o, and his mouth comes forward (notice the difference in his cheeks compared to for example the v shape). 

So I’d say, you can not only hear it, you can totally see it too.

As a fandom, I think we should discuss TransDean (ftm) more.

My points for this argument:

It would explain Dean being named after Deanna, and then changing it to Dean. (Then both Dean and Sam would have been directly named after their grandparents, Sam (shortened version of Samuel) and Dean originaly named Deanna)

His toxic masculinity? He felt pressured to act cis and copied his father. Felt this was the only way he could fit in, especially in the hunter society (which we all know is a bit uhhh).

Throughout the whole show he was always compared to Mary and being Sam's mother, while Sam was always paralled to John. (Meaning that John forced this role onto him as that was how he saw him)

I just think about the person who lives in Latin America, who’s an avid fan of Supernatural but isn’t part of the fandom and just watches the show. I think about how for that person, they will go on about their lives believing and knowing that Destiel was officially confirmed. For that person, Castiel loved Dean and Dean said he loved Castiel back. To this person, Castiel heard someone finally say they love him before he died and they saw Dean’s bisexuality confirmed.

I think about this person and I live for them.
