This is what’s going on in Serbia right now
On 2nd of April Serbia had presidential elections in which Serbian prime minister to that date, Aleksandar Vučić, became the president of Serbia with 55% of all votes and 12% more votes than all the opposition combined. The turnout was 54.5%.
Months prior to that he’s been launching a bombastic campaign and dominated all media, even buying main pages for the newspaper for an entire day (30.3.) and he absolutely dominated YouTube advertisements for people who are from Serbia:
It’s 3.4. and Serbian youth are unhappy with the results of the presidential elections. Serbia is protesting. Hundreds of people are flooding the streets of Belgrade, Novi Sad and Niš, and the number keeps growing:
The numbers in Belgrade already rose to thousands, and the protests are expected to continue tomorrow. Slogan of the protest is “No to the dictatorship!”. It’s predominantly a student protest. The students do not hope to impeach Aleksandar or anything alike, but they hope to raise awareness of the rising authoritarianism in Serbia and motivate citizens to take part in the next elections and stand in Vučić’s way.
Update.
All major cities in Serbia got involved in the protests. Protesters came out with requirements that need to be met in order for protests to halt which include:
1. Disbanding members of Republic’s electoral commission for dismissing decisions of the Constitutional court 2. Replacing members of Regulatory body for electronic media for not reacting on hundreds of reports and breaches 3. Disbanding the president of the parliament Maja Gojković for blocking the functioning of the parliament during the presidential campaign 4. Replacing the chief editor of the informational program of RTS (Radio television of Serbia) because of pro-government reporting and unequal treatment of the candidates in the campaign 5. Revision of the electoral list (as it involves dead people, people’s place of residence listed on the wrong addresses…)
Police and military were also invited to join the protests.
President Aleksandar Vučić and Russian Federation reacted to the protests. Reaction from Western politicial powers is absent.
It is claimed that Serbian protesters got financing by the USA in order to destabilize the country and cause a war. Vučić defended the right of protesters to protest, suggesting that if they have time to waste he doesn’t. Russian authorities reported that Serbia should not be destabilized and legitimacy of the elections downplayed.

I've just seen somebody send an ask to a balkan blog saying how balkan countries are, and i quote, "too alien-like to be paired up with the rest of the european countries" and i wanna die
if alien-like means not eating bland food and throwing good parties yeah i agree
Izdajnik
"my family tree was proven to be albanian. my iq is 50 too." how unnecessary.
i wish it was but some people understand how their opinion sounds only when someone repeats it for them
