Personal Notes
Because it's winter break for me soon, you're welcome to submit asks, requests, and any other things for the time being!
This request is for the person who asked for the circus’ reaction to someone who’s usually deadpan/apathetic, enjoy~
Pierrot:
Pierrot doesn’t mind if you’re apathetic or usually deadpan. He takes it in stride with whatever you express; emotions, clothes, anything. That’s why when you do express more positive emotions specifically aimed at him, his heart just ascends with joy! He loves to make sure that you know he loves you, receiving it back in whatever manner it is will have him melting in your embrace.
He wouldn’t treat you any differently from canon. But. If you do react in any positive way towards him when you’re usually deadpan, do expect him to not only get really physical with touching and hugging you but also late into the nights… he’ll become a little more intimate to show more of his devotion to you~
Harlequin:
Harlequin just loves to play up his acts to a maximum. He’ll try anything to make you react; pranks, threats, declarations of love, he wastes no time in engaging with these actions if it means you one day have an emotional outburst. Despite it all, he’ll be impressed if you’re still not quipping back at him for his more extreme behavior or if you’re not scolding him for his mischief. Most people and including his family always respond in some way to what he does.
Not you though.
It’s peculiar enough that you intrigued him, encouraging him to try his worst in a way. He’ll absolutely take a part in that just so he can savor the reaction he’ll receive on your face later.
Jester:
Jester at first just glances at you and doesn’t spare another look. It isn’t until more provocations from Harlequin don’t shake you up that he realizes you’re a little more interesting than he thought. From there, he himself utilizes psychoanalysis to pick apart why you’re so apathetic. Truly, what makes you different from other humans? Was it biological? If so he’ll redirect you to the Doctor so he can learn why you’re so unique. Was it trauma? He wouldn’t mind delving into those depths just to see if you can react.
More than anything, you’re a new “pet” who isn’t behaving the way he thought you would. It’s only natural he’d want to discover your new behavior in light of all of this.
Ticket Taker:
Ticket Taker will appreciate your levelheaded attitude. You two will often be the ones to manage the conflicts between Pierrot and Harlequin. If he trusts you enough, he may even delegate some of his tasks to you should you prove you truly keep your calm and you’re competent in what you do. While that will take quite some time before that level, he will be more forthcoming when you two meet up or get into discussions. Appraisingly, you and Jester would be the ones he’d rely on most if you get to that level.
Doctor:
Doctor would be intrigued with your behavior. You’re completely different from most of the humans he either interacted or experimented with. He just has to get his claws on you and see what is happening in your brain. What does your brain activity suggest; is it a genetic component? Is it a personality disorder? Or could it just be you? Whatever the case, he’s going to take his time analyzing your psychological and physical reactions.
Doctor will think you could act as the dependent variable, making you the outlier of the humans he’s worked on. He just wants to know why you’re so different—
This story operates on the MC saving the monsters before the tragedy of the Freak Circus game; Columbina’s death.
A haunting death for sure, it drives the narrative but what happens if it was replaced with the unconditional kindness of a human?
All monsters knew this one truth that rang in their blood: humans are cruel.
Humanity has proven time and time again they can’t be trusted. They’re so eager to discover and innovate with sacrifices tacked on each step forward. Every discovery is always met with fear, always fear first shadowed with desperation for control and victory at their feet and hands.
But this is not the typical tale of a human’s conquest nor of monsters’ defeat.
This is one detailing how a human’s kindness ruled the lives of 6 monsters, tying oppressed souls together. It paints a lovely story about a triumphing love molded by hands meant to kill each other.
And so we begin the epic of the 6 monsters and the beautiful saviouress.
The Story of the Human and the Monsters
MC, as a child or teenager (whichever is preferred), encounters an unique circus in their home location. There, upon entering, MC watches a couple traditional circus shows before the main attraction of the ringleader came about. MC watches as the “Monsters” entered the ring.
MC sits uncomfortably as they’re basically abused for a show where everyone around the MC are jeering for more.
Once the show ends, MC approached the ringleader to inquire about the “Monsters” but they were brushed off and escorted out.
Soon enough, MC reappears again and again and again, and the Monsters begin to recognize them. But neither party got to interact as the ringleader prevented the Monsters from meeting any customer within the tents after their show.
It eventually leads to the MC breaking off the chains on the Monsters, running away soon after the fact. It wasn’t until years had passed in the meantime that MC learned of a new circus in the city, one they thought seemed familiar.
As MC lightly sprints to their work, a loud smack sounded and MC winded down their jog. They turn around—
hii hii!! This is my first time ever asking on tumblr— i rlly love your writing style and i wish to see more from you!! its rlly cool!! :D
anyways!! i was hoping to ask if you coukd do how all of the circus members(i mean you dont have to do all!! just do the characaters that you like/are more comfy with doing this ask with) to a suicidal mc/depressed mc? you dont have to do this ask if it makes you feel uncomfortable!! just wanting to know ur thoughts on it!!
have a good day/night/afternoon/whatever time it is and ily(platonically)!!! Ur works are AWESOMEEE
WARNINGS: depression, references of suicidal ideation, references of anxiety/panic attacks, references of dark habits (please don’t ever do this, you’re so beloved ♥️)
To the request of asking for a depressed!MC, here it is! Enjoy the headcanons ;)
Pierrot:
Pierrot loves you no matter what has happened to you, whether caused by yourself, someone else, or purely by accident. Scars, weight, looks, quirks, hobbies, insecurities; he doesn’t judge. He wants to love you the way you want to be loved. Pierrot seeks to reciprocate the kindness you showed him so he loves to listen to whatever you offer to talk to him about even if it gets personally deep and heavy. Your voice no matter the cadence always soothes him. And you can definitely rely on him to be your own version of a house husband; cooking, cleaning, taking care of chores. Pierrot wants you to view him as someone who will stay. Even when you’re gone and he has to live on, he’ll make sure the memories of your time with him stay in the home of the circus only you two know.
Maybe when the time comes, Pierrot will come to you to enjoy peace but until then, he will not lose a second on not loving you.
So he does what he can now to lift your spirits! He will actively go out his way to make you a paper mache mask to belong inside the circus, escort you to wherever you want to go, fulfill any request of yours to the best of his ability. Pierrot is the lover who will always be there when no one, not even you, is around to be real.
Harlequin:
Harlequin lowkey mitigates a portion of the depression unless you explicitly tell him. In which case, his jagged words and sharp remarks still stay but only in moments where he can gauge your mood. Otherwise, his suaveness comes over and he thrives under your reactions to his little pokes and prods at your shell.
If there comes days where your depression has brought you to a very low point, he’ll notice upon first look at you and go quiet for a while before he takes charge in helping you. He’s always been more a man of words than a man of action but here, he knows he has to take you out of the darkness. Words can’t land the way actions do. Harlequin will quickly remove whatever sharp objects that may be present, hurriedly rushing to you before making sure you lay in bed as he takes over whatever needs to be done.
He might complain here and there but you pick apart the small monotone pitch of his voice indicating he doesn’t really mean it. Once he’s done with everything, he takes his chance to just lay down with you as you two just enjoy each other’s presence. Or at least you appreciate him being there. Harlequin still hurts you (with words still sharp enough to cut into the red gushy flesh of a heart—), still rejects whatever small affectionate action you try at or for him, but he’s the lover who’ll light a torch, travel through the dark to reach you and bring you back home.
Jester:
Jester is the pragmatic leader of the circus. Everything has a role, a purpose and everything has a reason. As someone he had to overcome a deep bitterness towards initially, he wastes no time in delving into the reason for your depression. He’ll treasure the small moments you two have in the times you both are free. If you struggle with more compulsions than anything, he’s quick to note any habits of yours and diligently either remove or add to them in whatever capacity he could. He just would never state what he’s done, preferring for you to relish in the joys of life and present even if you remain oblivious to a lot of the changes.
In those close quarters, Jester will take your hand and guide you to sit on his bed. As you lay down, he will leave for a blinking moment and return with a book he said, “just perfect for the occasion.”
He’ll slide right next to you, curling his arm to bring you closer. He’ll state the quote he said he wanted you to remember for your relationship together.
“In vain have I struggled. It will not do. My feelings will not be repressed. You must allow me to tell you how ardently I admire and love you.”
Jester is the lover who, for all his pride and all his grandiosity, will never fail to make you the limelight of his life.
Ticket Taker:
Ticket Taker is similar in his approach to helping you like Jester. Much more focused on meaningful tasks that help you function if it’s executive dysfunction you wrangle with. Otherwise, he’s not particularly versed in dealing with depression so he’ll probably consult psychology books or physical resources when he can. As much as he wishes to pour more attentiveness towards you, Ticket Taker does manage the accounting and tickets of the circus. Where Jester can afford more spontaneous breaks from his administrative duties, Ticket Taker will have to plan out his schedule a little more diligently.
So you can expect his schedule handed to you! He wants you to know that you are a priority in his life even when other responsibilities are taking chunks of time. He’ll make sure to plan dates down to the most meticulously detailed agendas where nothing can stray too far. He would love to escort you to a dine-in restaurant you really love (that he already knew beforehand and selected for the particular date), and run through your day throughout the time. You know his schedule, tell him your day, your meet ups, your meetings, your new business for tomorrow.
Ticket Taker is the lover who creates more time even if there never seems to be enough.
Doctor:
Doctor knows more about human anatomy than human psychology. Though in his track to learning what he does now, psychology has played a large portion in conducting experiments and his tent activities. So he quickly spots signs of any worrying signals you give off; whether emotional, physical, or mental. From your perspective, he’s attentive and observant, always picking up on when you need space or when you need proximity. In cases where he feels he needs to address something no matter how minor, Doctor takes it as a potential outlier to remove or to delicately smooth over.
Doctor is keen on expressing his care in various ways to see if it does anything to change your depression; a silent day organizing his tent and cleaning his materials, or a day going to a local pharmacy purchasing supplies, or a day where you both go outside to do something you want. And if you prefer to stay within the circus, that’s okay too. Whatever you request, he tries to acquiesce as best as he can. He may not be the best at understanding human emotions and behavior but that’s exactly why he studies and starts experiments; to research and better grasp what affects humans. And you, as the subject of his eyes, are a peculiar little human whose presence enchanted him.
Doctor is the lover who challenges the boundaries of what is and what can be so you don’t ever have to guess what you are in his love.
I really like your story. In particular, different chapters tell different stories.Where the story goes, but what I'm looking forward to most is stillYou letReaders make choices. The savior.Mc article
I appreciate these inbox messages, they make my day 🥹
I really hope you all like the story! Your decisions drive the narrative 👀
The poll is due soon so please vote before it ends today (EST zone)!
Hihi!! It's my first time requesting something so i hope i'm doing it right.
May i request some headcanons ( or scenario / imagine - I can't choose, sorry 💧 ) with a MC who is an angel?
Like, maybe they've met before when they were little or when they were still in those y'know - dark times. ( She'd definitely try befriending them, and even try helping them escape from behind the scenes ( or atleast give them some food and water, anything to make things a little easier - she's trying okay! ) If it's possible since she can be quite sneaky when she wants to be - her magic also makes it easier for her and helps her a lot during those times ) but she stopped appearing one day and no one saw her ever again until that one fateful day when she saved Pierrot from getting hurt by humans or something.
How would he ( and the others cause she'll be going to the circus sooner or later anyway ) react to seeing her once again? ( MC has quite the otherworldly beauty and her eyes are unique, something you'll never see from a human and despite her sunshine persona ( cause she's still going to be friendly with them 'till this day ), she's hard to forget.
She'll be in her human form until she's in a place or area where there are no humans around, gotta stay safe !
..As for the reason for her sudden " disappearance " - I unfortunately can't think of anything so you can make something up if you want! Sorry if it's confusing, I'm not really good at these kinds of things.
Feel free to change or remove anything that doesn't make sense or sum ^^ )
That's all, thank you in advance!
THANK YOU FOR THIS!!
I loved writing this (even though I meant to get it out earlier whoops, sorry-)
So I threw you a bone to chew on lmaooo
I wrote a Scenario/Imagine instead of a Headcanon cuz I've gotten a couple Headcanons and those are only about 1,000 words for me. So I figured Scenario/Imagine would spice up my time of writing~
I decided to post it separately to see if I might like this a little more than posting it as an answer to your request. Let me know if you like this! If not, I can always put it down below in the read below feature under these (just trying out how I want to set up this writing blog thing for Tumblr-)
You are an Angel. You were given the chance to save the 6 Monsters of the Freak Circus, how do you approach them again after all these years?
Pierrot, humans don’t love. They’re not kind.
They enjoy pain. That’s why our circus works so well.
They’re monsters who crave blood, who take pleasure in hurting each other. Humans are dangerous. They don’t need claws.
They outnumber us.
But so were they. Both are so incredibly similar.
Monsters prowling in the dark, humans treading in the sunlight.
Sin touched every mortal with no discrimination. But not every being is fated to be guided through their lives, so many terrible fates just as there were happily ever afters.
When you see a Miracle, it takes an inordinate amount of karma. A pile of past and current actions stacked like a card tower to assume a fate for you.
You weren’t a Monster, you were an Angel. That’s a whole different classification. In the eyes of humans, angels defined goodness, purity. In the eyes of Monsters, they are harbingers of good luck, messengers of truth, and symbols of grace and humility. Angels were adored by all.
You had the wonderful opportunity to watch over a being. Or beings. It would appear the higher ups decided you were worthy enough to obtain “Guide” as your position here. And not just that, multiple at once. While not uncommon to watch over at least 1 or more mortals, it’s incredibly rare to watch over more than 3 at the same time. The rule was implemented after a terrible incident that led to an Angel’s death…
You were trustworthy, they said. Your records showed the evidence of hard turnarounds and so they believed you could help these individuals. You exit the office as you open the file and flip through the papers on the mortals you would be overseeing.
Okay, Monsters. But not just any, some of the more aggressive subspecies in the Monster category. You can handle that right? You dealt with a lot over your time, it just takes patience and honestly holding out as a presence for most mortals. And even if it proves to be a difficult case to help them out and redirect them toward sinlessness, you were a stubborn angel. Giving up was not in your vocabulary.
And so you get to work. When you finally get time to yourself after a full day’s work, settling in your nest with claws full of files of your future charges.
As your eyes scan across paragraphs, you wave your hand to summon your tablet to jot down notable ideas for helping these beings you now call your own.
You never really liked humans all too much. They were loud, noisy, and most importantly, cruel. Given they’re Monsters in a human-filled world, they were likely to be one of three conditions: hiding away, hiding in sight, or caged as either exotic pets or hunting animals. There could even be other extenuating scenarios but these were among the most common responses to Monsters. And with knowing what kind your charges were, they were likely to be caged as entertainment.
It made you bristle your wings. It’s disgusting behavior but you couldn’t do much. Angels were bound by ancient laws of no direct interference. It’s why Guides were created, to bridge the gap left by those rules and actually help mortal souls toward purity and forgiveness.
Even so, you scan the documents with your tablet, uploading them to your notes app and annotating from there.
A family caught in human sins that trafficked Monsters, used as prop materials for a greedy human’s business.
It’s no wonder they needed a Guide. Their fate after the death of a family member was awful, certainly not one deserved after all they’ve been through regardless of actions that were highly, morally ambiguous in the future.
Now it’s up to you to change their lives and make the difference you’ve made before. You smile, setting your tablet away to lay down in your nest.
Tomorrow will set your plan in action.
You enact your plan by flying down to the forest right by the circus home of your charges, just a mere couple acres away for safety of your identity even if it were deep into the evening. As you land your talons on the crumbly earth, you quickly weave your invisibility into your human disguise as you trod down the soil before you step behind a tree right in front of the circus.
Peaking your head from behind the tree, you witness two humans leaning against the metal rails of the cage, voices echoing in the forest. The dark curly haired human was waving their hands around as they loudly stated, “I can't wait for tomorrow’s show, we’re gonna see the new outfit for the girly monster!”
The taller one just huffed, “yeah, took them long enough to get the costume. Shouldn’t have been that hard.”
The previously speaking one barked out a laugh. “Damn right! Can’t wait to see what Ringleader has cuz of this.”
You narrowed your eyes, curling your hand to waft a food scent into the nearby vicinity. The humans immediately perked up, the taller human suggesting they get food to retire for the night. As the two men leave with loud laughter and crude remarks on the female Monster, you swiftly close the distance from your position to the cage. You pull the curtains off and enter your intangible form to go through the bars.
Sneaking into the cage, you see the layout of how the Monsters were chained, the size of each individual Monsters’ cages, and so forth to remember for future sake. A few were asleep but two were awake. One of them had dark purple eyes with cat slit pupils while the other had green colored irises; but both had glistening blood on their mouths, chests and claws, which explains the humans’ presence outside the cage. You quickly scoot over to the Monster closest to the entrance, enchanting the metal bucket to have extra meat which would improve their strength. Once you glanced across all the buckets ensuring everyone received the extra food, you hurriedly left the space with a slight swoosh of air, leaving only a gust of wind blowing into the cage as purple and green eyes stared at the space in front of their big cage’s opening.
And so this pattern continued: you entered the big cage, giving them a little more meat each time, and leaving.
But over time, you got sloppy, thinking your disguise was good enough when you accidentally tipped a bucket over as you scrambled to stand it up right. Amidst your panic, your disguise begins flickering in and out. Now the currently awake Monsters froze at this visual distortion before pressing away within their cages, clinking chinks of metal waking up the remaining slumbering Monsters.
Quickly, snarls and growls filled the air as you set the bucket up, all noises shutting off as a human loudly wondered what the noise was inside. Gratefully, the human just shrugged and thought it was the Monsters making pitiful noises or just them sleeping. But soon all eyes were on you as you stood frozen.
You sigh, knowing full well that you might as well remove your disguise. Better than to keep them unknowing of your presence lest next time there’s a more hostile reaction. Taking it off, you go ahead and cautiously move around tapping your hand against the metal buckets, lightly flashing in extra meat inside them. All the monsters watched as you slowly made your rounds before you arrived back at the entrance.
Once you swipe your spell back on, you step backwards closer to the entrance of the cage with a sorrowful look as you couldn’t do more than you already have been doing for them. You turn around—
“Who are you?”
You look behind to see Columbina’s watery eyes. You just smile even when they couldn't see your figure anymore.
“Your Angel.”
“Can we… please get your name?”
Your eyebrows raise at this. They didn’t specify for your real name so you could give a fake alias as you had done previously numerous times. But just for this occasion, maybe you can indulge in some of your more mortal impulses.
“.....Y/N.”
Just as you had entered, you left quietly with a curtain movement signaling your departure.
Soon afterwards, began the mini interactions: small healing sessions, more food deposits, quick talks before you left for the night. Many of whatever they did get to ask before a human interrupted or you needed to leave quicker for the night were the standard ones: what you were, why now are you helping, the likes. Even with limited answering capacity for the true nature of your work, you spent more time with these creatures than with any other charge you had before; it felt like fate was sealed in ink the day you signed to be their Guide.
Then came the dreaded day of fate; the day you get to see if you’ve made the difference you said you would make. And you did.
You watched them claw out of the cage and run into the night. You flew right behind the Monsters as they ran charging forward, stopping as they started to slow down and wind up sitting soon after. As P̴̡̰̘̞̠̙͈͈͓̰̬̏̅͑̀̕͜ͅi̷̧̜̞̭͙̱̬͈̪̞͕̇̓͒̽͛̅̈̇͗͘͝e̶̡͖̻̪̳̻̺̮̲͉͛̆̈́́͐͛̏̿̄͝͠r̷̠̘̖̦̲͓̒̀̽̓̈́͊͗̽̚̚͝͝r̶̰̟͔̘̹̂̈́̈́̓̽̆̂̈̆̆͜͝o̶̟̭͈̬͍͔͒́͌̍̋̇͊̓ͅt̶̢̜̮̜̪̙͈̐͆͗̏͊͛̈̐̃̏̓̕͜͝͝raise his head to scan their surrounding environment, he saw you just when you smile at him, fading away with a small angelic feather left floating in the air.
He lunged for the feather despite the concerned protests of his fellow Monsters. He clutched it between both his hands, searing your whispered words into his memories forever.
“Be free my loves. Live your lives. Please take care of each other.”
Man, why were you always assigned to missions where it’s near humans.
Not to be speciesist, but humans were just… something else entirely.
Ugh.
Whatever, you can make do. Just get it over with.
You start walking a little faster as you were about to be late for your new cafe work. It was on you for sleeping in a little more than you should’ve but oh well. Being a Guide Angel was not as easy as other Angels have complained about. You were just walking past people when you heard a loud SMACK that barely entered your ears.
That was not a normal city noise.
You whipped right around on your heels to investigate because curse you, you’re an Angel. You don’t let injustice fly by.
You swerved around a couple of humans to see what’s happening and you enter in the inner circle—
Pierrot.
You gasped, hand covering to smother your surprise. It’s been… you don’t even remember how many years has passed. You would’ve loved to linger on those nostalgic memories and emotions if it weren’t…
For the stupid verbal assault your precious former charge was experiencing right now.
A wraith of heat rises up in your chest as you stomp forward to grab the man by his wrist and push him away from Pierrot, protectively standing in front of him. Your eye twitched as you began berating the man, Pierrot staring at your back. He eventually backed off with grumbles about you disappearing too, something you personally didn’t care (but Pierrot filed it away so he can hunt him down in the dead of night—)
You…
You turned to look down at him—
Pierrot would forever recognize the eyes of their Angel.
You took a few steps towards him, gently offering your hand to the clown which he accepted with the same light touch. As he got up, you wrapped your arms around his waist to embrace him, startling him before he reciprocated quickly to receive your warmth once more. You let him go, far too early in his eyes, as you told him any of the circus members may visit you at the cafe or you can attend their circus tomorrow most likely. He happily nodded to let you know he understood and you squished his hands just so he can remember how you felt through his gloves as you leave for work.
Pierrot stood in his spot, not blinking once to trace your path to the cafe before a familiar voice called for him. He rolled his eyes as he stepped backwards to see his younger brother marching up to him.
“Thank god for coming in now, there’s a rush of customers if you can help out there.”
You do see the onslaught of people coming in and out, so you immediately set to work on orders and deliveries. As you go about setting cups and drinks on tables and delivering them to in-line people, you pick up on some of the conversations around you.
“Hey, did you hear about the circus coming in today?”
“Yeah I did, I also heard people are really sus of the place cuz a woman disappeared last night and had a ticket to it beforehand.”
“Woah, that’s horrible but isn’t it a little too mean to say that though? They just came in so why are people blaming them?”
“It’s cuz they’re a super creepy and scary bunch, they don’t allow children at all into their circus.”
“Even so that’s still not enough to accuse them.”
“Yeah, but I don’t know. I just stay out of that ya know?”
You just bite your lips upon hearing that. You are not one of the Judges so you won’t say anything on it. As you finish setting a cup down for a customer, out of the corner of your eye do you see a man in a blue outfit sit down. You quickly moved over to him, “hi sir! What can I get you for today?”
“Ah, thanks! I’d like a strong, hot coffee.”
“You bet! I’ll get you it right away.”
When you step back to grab a coffee for the man, your boss glanced up from his work to say, “also please remove any of those circus flyers. I don’t want them being handed inside where it can interrupt business.”
You nod, “sure thing. Even outside?”
“If you could please.”
You arrive back at the man’s table with his coffee in hand, “here you go sir. Enjoy it–”
“Hey by the way do you enjoy the circus?”
You pause before tilting your head at him. It was obvious he wanted you to go, you could tell the illusory vision he put on and see past it to see his true form.
One of your lovely former mortals you guided once upon a time ago with his family.
You just smirked as you said no, taking the offered pink ticket. You glanced at it before pocketing the ticket as you went back to the counters, wondering what it might mean for the circus.
You didn’t see Pierrot at night time, so you decided to go home and go to the circus tomorrow instead as you want to present yourself much nicer than your work uniform or casual clothes. You set your items down, quickly getting ready for sleep even if you didn’t need it as an Angel. You just loved the recreational activity, it just seems to give you a boost of energy you needed when not even coffee hits that internal exhaustion.
Tomorrow arrives, you’re in a haze for the whole day. You stuttered more than you liked, handwriting becomes even more of a chicken scratch than you intended, hands and body wobbly with anxiety for the meet up at night. It came to a point midday when your boss asked if you needed to go home.
You genuinely enjoyed the cafe work compared to other human work you’ve done so you decline but still, you’ve gotta calm down before it becomes worse throughout the day. You spend the day managing your nerves and ending the day off better than it started. Once closing time comes around, you sigh with relief that it had gone better after that talk. You gather your items and leave for your place so you can prepare for the circus tonight.
You made sure to wear some nicer clothes to surprise your ex-charges, stepping into the night to greet them once more. There it was, the colored circus tents, fairy lights all around, food stalls to the side as you squinted your eyes to the far end.
You step forward to see one of the Monsters you saved.
You may not have initially recognized him due to his costume in blue, overall attire, and mask but you remembered his aura from the afternoon you served him the coffee. He paused at seeing you, his pupils shaking slightly as though he couldn’t believe what he was seeing but his shock faded and his smile returned.
“Hello Y/N… it has been quite some time since we last saw each other.”
His voice was soft, gentle as if he was beholding something precious in front of him. You grinned at his reaction, “hello dear one. It really has been, what’s your name?”
His smile widened. “I am Ticket Taker, Angel.”
You threw your head back laughing at the name he chosen but let your giggles die down as you pressed your pink ticket to his hand. “I have to wonder, how did you figure me out?”
He froze at the pink ticket in his hand, quickly shifting it to a black ticket instead. “Pierrot informed us immediately as soon as he came back yesterday.”
“Ah, I see. I have to ask, what do the colors mean? I’m not all knowing you know.”
Ticket Taker smiled at you, stepping closer to you so he could whisper the information. “Pink is reserved for our other darling angel but specifically to be taken for further investigation. Black is for our… special guests like you.”
Monsters and non-human entities you gather. Got it.
“Well, thank you for the info.” You step back before teasing him. “Though I don’t know how to feel about being given that ticket then when I helped you all out before.”
Ticket Taker blushed lightly at the comment, adjusting his tie. “It was before I was informed about you. Only yesterday night had I realized the implications of giving you the pink ticket once Pierrot elaborated on your appearance further in the night.”
He gripped your wrist, “also I request you do not eat any of the food from the stalls. The circus cast would like to offer you something special for your arrival in the black tent later.”
You grinned and accepted that condition, waving goodbye at him as you went further into the circus.
All the lights, stalls, sheer amount of grounds. It was fascinating to see the effort they put in for their work; noting the different Monsters that were in line for the black tent. Although, you’ll first go exploring the grounds, maybe see one or two tents before entering the black tent. Or maybe you can just enter it now and retreat back home for some additional things you had wanted to do for the circus cast now that you’re not restrained by the Guide position.
Actually, since you’re in the city for a while and so were they, you prefer to come back later where you can enjoy everyone’s entertainments. So that settles it, you’ll go to the black tent once you’re done wondering and reunite with your former charges.
You start your rounds like how you done the same thing with those metal buckets. Only this time, your Monsters were free.
You noticed though most of the tents were occupied except the pink and black ones so you just shrug and make your way through. It was fun though chatting with the entities there, it was always nicer to meet creatures other than humans since that’s sadly what you’re most used to.
Any species other than humans tend to be kinder. (Again you’re desperately trying to not let your bias show but you can only handle so much from humanity, damn—)
It’s once you get into the room you freeze from the sight of it.
All around, Monsters were scattered about enjoying their meals as you waited by the entrance. You blink, searching for any familiar figure to talk with before a hand landed on your shoulder.
You jump high into the air, wings flapping out from your disguise. You see a tall dark figure with the plague doctor mask, sensing he was one of the familiar Monsters you took care of before. You got back down with wings now folded as you placed a hand on your heart.
“My goodness, don’t scare me like that!”
The entity just bowed his head slightly at the comment. “My apologies Angel. I did not mean to scare you. I merely wished to welcome you and stay for your duration in the circus.”
You brushed past that comment, “so, what’s your name then dear Monster?”
“I am the Doctor, our Angel.” He grabbed your hand, pressing his face to your hand. “It’s a pleasure to see you once more even if we did not speak much.”
“It’s alright love! I was on a mission to help you all with some restraints so if anything it couldn’t be helped. I’m just grateful to reunite with you all again.”
“Likewise, please stay here and enjoy our provided meals. I will be here for the night as my tent has closed off now.”
And so you two enjoyed a nice time chatting while eating; you a more human meal as they thought it was a safer choice for you and him the human meat they had gathered beforehand. It was nice getting to see one of your Monsters from before, you didn’t get many chances to see your protectees before they passed or wished for no contact.
Sometimes it broke your heart to hear that but it couldn’t be helped. The circus though couldn’t have felt more different to the matter. The Monsters yearned for even an echo of your presence. Pierrot, your touch against his hair; Harlequin, your voice soft as ice; Jester, your smile as you looked upon them; Ticket Taker, your laugh as a snarky remark from one of them rang in the night; Doctor, your glare at the humans behind you in the cage; and Columbina, your final words before they left the circus grounds that night.
Soon, some time passed and Monsters began to leave. You thought about the same if the others weren’t going to arrive but the Doctor rubs your wrist. “My dear, they will arrive soon. We only wish for whatever time you may have here.”
“Thank you, I just had a couple things on my plate but obviously I want to see everyone.” Your vision blurs with unshed tears as you wearily smile at him. “It’s been so long… I missed you all.”
You could tell behind his mask the small smile that appeared at your words. “We missed your presence too Angel.”
You were about to add more to this nostalgic conversation when you perked up at hearing more voices outside, picking up at the ends of the conversation.
“—She’s here!! Come on guys, hurry up!!”
“Relax Bina, she will most likely stay for a while before heading out so we have plenty of time for a reunion.”
“We don’t know if she can stay though, what if she has something else to do? What if she needs to leave soon and this is our only chance to reunite with her? What if—”
“If you desire to, come in and welcome her yourself Columbina.”
The voices trailed off hearing the Doctor say that. The curtain lifted and you felt your chest heave to see the familiar silhouettes.
Pierrot and Ticket Taker entered behind the three other faces. One clad in green, purple, and pink clothes.
You stood up from the wooden seat you were on, stepping into the light to take a closer look at them all. The Doctor instead took the opportunity to move towards his family and stand with them as you examined all of your Monsters.
You grinned at seeing all of them side by side. “So… I know three here, who are the other three?”
The feminine Monster dressed in pink immediately sprinted to go hug you tight, you hugging back. She leaned back to examine you as she said, “I’m Columbina! It’s so nice to meet you again Y/N…”
Her voice dropped, “It’s been too long…”
You felt the atmosphere shift with those words, hugging her waist as you went to reassure her, “oh Columbina, I’m an Angel. I had duties so I had to let you all go after helping where I was needed.”
“I’m back and this time for much longer now I’m not your Guide.”
The one in the green suit stepped up right behind Columbina, wrapping his arm around both yours and Columbina’s waists. He grinned widely as you turned your head to him, leaning forward in your face to say, “It’s a pleasure to reunite with our other angel now~ I am Harlequin dearest one~”
Pierrot stormed up and ripped Harlequin off, glaring at the man while he just laughed at your shocked reaction. The purple one sighed as he walked up to you on the opposite end of where Harlequin had been. He grasped your hand on Columbina’s waist to press a kiss against your knuckles, looking down at you still leaving his lips against the skin of your knuckles.
“And I am Jester, Angelica~ This is a much better context to meet you.” And he leaned into your ear, “please stay with us for the night, we have a few surprises just for you~”
You can’t help but shudder, feeling his lips ghost the inner shell of your ear and sharp teeth softly grazing your skin. You lean back from Columbina and Jester to see Pierrot and Harlequin argue over their gifts to you, and Ticket Taker stepping in to resolve the conflict whereas Doctor silently stood by the entrance like a future executioner ready for orders.
You look back at Columbina’s and Jester’s smiles, feeling your own face match theirs as you say,
AJSXNZN, I'm so happy to find another writer for the freak circus!! I saw one of your blurbs (monster hunter!mc) and I came up with an idea. what if mc is the one who kills every monster hunter? maybe she had a monster lover, and after they were killed, she developed a strong hatred towards hunters, training all the time and becoming skilled enough to get rid of them. can you please write the idea with the whole circus cast? (headcanons)
I actually love this SO MUCH-
I just had different plans for this though... sorryyyyy
BUT I can write a headcanon version of this so it'll come up soon! All of the Blurbs I have are WIPs which means they all should be posting soon since I written a few before starting this Tumblr.
Thank goodness i checked your account again or i wouldn't have seen your reply and missed the chance to request something - anyway !!
Can i have some headcanons about what would the TFC characters be like in a romantic relationship with a feminine MC who is literally sunshine incarnate ? A silly gal' indeed <33
Have a lovely day / night !!
Hi anon!
Thank you for the request! I really liked this cutesy ask, here it is down below:
Pierrot:
MC is just like him! The duo who weaponizes the kicked puppy look and gets away with anything. Almost like the youngest child in a family of multiple siblings, MC just radiates innocence (or so you think–)! Pierrot adores MC’s sunlit personality, he’s often reminded of sunflowers when he even thinks about MC.
In the circus, the two get to have a little more intimacy since he doesn’t have to withhold speaking. This is where he actually takes advantage of speaking; delivering poems and declarations of love for MC as they enjoy spending time alone together in his tent. In the safety of his home and tent, Pierrot revels in cuddling MC while verbally affirming his love to MC. It’s in the circus only, he gets to cook for them even if both can go out; this small cooking and baking scenery with him often attracts the other members of the circus.
In public, he’s basically MC’s guard dog. He assumes the role of protector even when he can’t speak. He let his body language and glares threaten others who dare to make you upset or even worse, hurt MC. When that happens… MC does flinch when the light shines on that familiar figure being propped up for Pierrot’s show of the night.
Harlequin:
He just seems to always attract the golden retriever types huh? MC, Pierrot, Columbina, like damn. Why? Regardless, he still pokes and prods at them no matter what but it’s when MC’s personality continues to shower affection on him that he becomes hesitant. Many humans and occasionally even his circus family become wary of his antics. Never MC for some reason.
It’s like MC just takes it for face value and rolls with his punches. MC doesn't take what he says and does to heart, obviously they were just jabs meant to provoke them so why react negatively? Harlequin has a hard time accepting this, so MC, as the sunshine incarnate they are, takes the role of the wiser and kinder entity in the relationship.
MC is the one to give him massages after shows, to clean his puppets for the next show or if they appeared a little tattered, to leave small gifts in his tent so he can arrive to see them. He can’t say “I love you” for a very long time, but instead he softens his jabs, become a little kinder. He prefers to leave little gifts that remind MC of him so MC always carries a piece of him around. Reciprocate the kindness and love in his own way.
Jester:
Comparatively, he’s very similar to Harlequin in maintaining an icy wall with MC. He refuses to see MC as anything but a human pet the circus kept around. Like a service dog you get for good reasons but gradually grow to care for, Jester loosens up with the more MC interacts with him. He and Ticket Taker make sure to put MC to use but eventually it gets to a point where he acknowledges your presence in their work.
Jester doesn’t mind any public outings but be careful in selecting specific activities. There are just some he won’t participate in such as: daring adventures like aerial hobbies (paragliding, skydiving, etc.), any sports, just to name a few. He prefers more creative and practical hobbies of MC’s that stays in the circus or in their home if possible.
If there’s anything MC can gather, it’s that he loves acts of service. As the leader of the circus, he makes the decisions. So anything that calms and relaxes him at the end of the day is greatly appreciated even without any indication of such. He just stays present in the activities, often possessively touching MC in some way as if to stake a claim at all times.
If he's in a good mood, he may share a hobby of his to MC when both are cozy in his tent deep into the night after the shows. From language learning to literature, MC gets to soak in softer memories where Jester can just simply be in reality with MC.
Ticket Taker:
MC eases his days a lot more than he could ever choose to explain. Because he is one of the busier circus members, it means every second in privacy is treasured. Or if it can’t be private, knowing MC is right there beside him soothes him.
He’s the type where if MC can take over administrative items or act as caretaker for his needs whenever he has to skip a meal or two, Ticket Taker appreciates every effort MC takes to help him out. Small moments of working in silence together to handing out tickets at night to those quiet times resting in his tent; things he’s come to not only accept as his new normal but pieces of his daily life he is looking forward to.
Ticket Taker is a true gentleman through and through as he prides himself on. With the most humanoid appearance out of the circus cast, it means he doesn’t mind more public activities compared to the others (even if he’s not partial to them as Harlequin is or avoidant as Jester). He also prefers more practical times where he and MC are doing something productive but if it’s a more mind-relaxing activity because of the heavy week of shows or previous night, MC will treat him out to a nice dine-in restaurant or walk around the city’s park.
Doctor:
Surprisingly, MC brings out the happier and chattier side of him. MC is the one to offer help in any capacity and that sunny personality has admittedly rubbed off on him in terms of how he now approaches patients in his tent. Not significant, but he does think of softer touches to his tent approaches when he thinks of you.
At first glance, you would think he’d be the protector and MC remains the small, cutesy human who just happens to have a Monster boyfriend. It’s actually the opposite for the two. If there were any need to go public, MC is the one who will have to stand up on behalf of Doctor even if he doesn’t mind whatever it happens. Just because MC is sunshine incarnate, it doesn’t mean they can’t have a mean streak and it shall be used for their loved ones.
Doctor is the one often prefers dates or any other sort of activity in the privacy of the circus but he does indulge in MC’s desire to go outside once and awhile. Preferably, he’d loved to hear MC’s thoughts on his recent experiments, spending quality time where he has your presence yet MC remains a faithful active listener to his imagination.
If you decide to go the poly route with two or more (aka all cuz you’re freaking greedy–)
MC lowkey should’ve expected the jealous in-fighting that would come about. A large part of this dynamic is communication. Despite them being Monsters, they understand boundaries even if they don’t recognize human terminology on the topic (exception being Jester and Ticker Taker as they’ve thought learning human psychology would help them with the circus business which it did but now it also served another reason—).
Of course Ticket Taker decides on a schedule with everyone allocated a certain amount of time and at specific times for any of everyone’s wants and needs. Dates, family nesting time, even spicy time—you got it all in a color coded, laminated timesheet for everyone to pass around and memorize upon the time you all agree to get together.
MC has gotta be careful in not overindulging one member versus the others—trust me, do not cause unnecessary drama between all of them. It won’t end well when either Jester or Ticket Taker discovers this and have to administer a punishment for all parties involved—
No matter which choice you make, every choice affects the world, characters, and plot going forward. There is no right or wrong answer; it is simply a choice you make with varying consequences. Not all bad, not all good. You are the decider of your fate, choose how you want to proceed.
Keep in mind how every choice precipitates into future relationship outcomes, consequences, and a potential ending. Once you decide on a choice, there is no going back.
Characters
Keep in mind this serves as a character reference sheet. It can help guide you for choosing future choices or spiral you down a darker path should you inevitably forget a core part of their character. Use this as you wish for future choices.
Pierrot: While not obsessively in love romantically, instead, it’s beyond ironic he’s obsessed with you platonically. He realized the difference fairly quickly upon feeling the different loves for you and Columbina. But he’s not ready to let you go just yet. Oh no, you just had to stay, you saved their family so it’s only right that you’d stay for a while longer… maybe even longer than you initially thought… you deserve the world for what you did afterall.
Harlequin: He might not ever say it, but there’s a special place for you buried deep in his soul. One act of kindness wouldn’t have been enough to sway him towards humans. But witnessing the effort you made to break their chains, save Columbia (even at risk of your own life and reputation), and set them free left an impression not so easily moved. He values actions more than words even if he wields a silver tongue; you proved that not all humans are evil.
Jester: He would be the last of them to ever lose that wariness, forever holding onto a bitterness lodged in his body. But he does acknowledge what you had done for his family, recognizing that you’re probably one of the rare human beings to care for others. As a result, he would more likely hear you out on humanity and whatever else you two get into discussion about. Just don’t expect too much because out of the 6 Monsters, Ticket Taker and Jester will only ever slightly warm up to humans even with your influence.
Ticket Taker: He would be grateful to be honest. Columbina is a piece of the family and he couldn’t imagine losing one of them. While not overtly blatant, he does tend to guide you to food that wasn't drugged for the day or show you more pleasant illusions if he notices you had a rough day before the circus.
Doctor: He would be far more lenient and caring towards you, almost like another one of the hatchlings of the family, especially since he’s one of the older ones in the circus. He’ll tenderly take care of your wounds although don’t expect anymore care afterwards. He may be happy to thank you for what you had done, it doesn’t mean he’ll continue the gratitude forward aside from favoring you more than other humans.
Columbina: She’d be ecstatic! She finally would get the chance to properly thank you for saving them, proving that not all humans are bad as she told her family. She would happily integrate you into the family, don't be shy now! Out of all of them, it would be Pierrot or Columbina who’d stay at your side at all times.
I got a few requests (thank you everyone for that!), I have about 2 more open slots for requests before I start to double down on them and my current Fae and Savior MC writing projects.
Feel free to submit more though! I'll for the time being focus on the first 5 and my own projects before doing anything else so keep them keeping, totally don't mind :)
