It Was Just A Drunk Text || Self

Today was not off to a fabulous start. Serena knew it from the moment she woke up. She woke up like she would any other day; surrounded by her pink room with mirrors on both sides. She heard her alarm go off a minute after she woke up, like normal. And then she went to check social media. Normally, the stuff on her is rarely there now that she is trying to do better or whatever. But today was different. She was checking her twitter notifications and they were through the roof. Weird. She had no idea what she could have done in the last few weeks that deserved media attention, but then again she could hardly remember the events from this week. Was it worth looking at? Serena wasn’t sure. Taking a deep breath, Serena decides to look and what she sees was something she didn’t expect.

It was an article. Her face was there, it was a recent but normal picture she uploaded from her instagram account. But once she opened the article she saw it: Another Washed-Up Celebrity? Former Teen Idol’s Drunken Texts Revealed! She scrolled through the article, seeing dozens of drunk texts that were definitely from her. They were to all kinds of students and they were incredibly embarrassing. How could she be so careless? And who leaked these to the press? It could have been one of the students; it wasn’t like she was the nicest to all of them. Who wouldn’t want to make her miserable and leak these texts? Or was it someone else? She read texts from all kinds of students and her brother Fiyero was one of them. He wouldn’t. 

Would he?

Her brother had a lot to gain from it. He would look even better in the spotlight by dragging his sister down. And he hated her more than everyone else. So it had to be him. She was going to kill him. Tossing her phone to the side she gets out of bed, groaning louder than ever. She goes into the bathroom and takes a good look at herself in the mirror. Was she washed-up? There were horrible bags under her eyes from not sleeping too much, her hair was frizzy and slightly damaged, and she hasn’t been at the spa in ages, so her nails were chipped. She was a walking disaster. 

How could she have let this happen? Was it because of this school? Serena didn’t hate the school necessarily, but it was stopping her from getting any new gigs. And she was learning better control of her abilities here too.....even though she thinks she had a decent grip on them. But she couldn’t help but take a minute to see that ever since she got there, she had been drunk almost every night.

Well whatever. She could totally be sober for as long as she wanted to. She could even do it now if she wanted. She looks away from the mirror and scoffs. She could totally start today. She gets ready for the rest of her day, a determined look on her face. She was sober and she was going to rock this school so she could rock the press. She’d show Fiyero. She’d show everyone.

She would still be fabulous.

Drakkar smiled at the girl as she spoke. “Do you now?” He chuckled lightly and discretely traces his lips with his tongue. “Some kids thought it would be funny, but I think I’m the winner from all of this.”

“Why is that? Are you telling me you’re not a little cold?” She bites her bottom lip, looking at him once more. “If some kids did that to me, I’d have to destroy them.”
