Tania Mallet
Tania Mallet, born on 19 May 1941 in Blackpool, Lancashire, England, is an English model and actress who is best known for her appearance as Tilly Masterson in the James Bond film Goldfinger (1964).
Mallet attended the Lucy Clayton's School Of Modelling, and started working as a model at just 16 years old in 1957, becoming one of the most recognisable and famous models of the late 1950s and early 1960s.
According to Mallet, she got the part of Tilly Masterson when someone sent a photo of her in a bikini to Bond producer Cubby Broccoli. The character was killed off during the film when Oddjob (Harold Sakata) hurled his steel rimmed hat at her.
Despite the film's phenomenal success, Goldfinger would be Mallet's only major big screen appearance. Mallet cited two reasons for returning to modelling and turning down all further film offers: firstly she did not like the restrictions imposed on her personal freedom when she was under contract during the film, and secondly, she said the money was "dreadful". She was initially offered £50 a week, and managed to increase her fee to £150 a week after tough negotiations, a fee that she was easily earning a day as a model.

A blog with lovely fashion photos!
These are vogue vintage illustrations that I really adore.
Bitter Sweet Vogue
Alexander Kopatz is a biologist and wildlife researcher from Svanvik, Norway, who I’ve been following for sometime now through his blog, GO 70° NORTH. I love the way his nostalgic and subtle tones match the stark and expansive landscapes he works in. Highly recommended that you follow him on his blog or updates through his Facebook and Instagram.
The Illustration of Mid-Century Modern
This is day 4 of Mid-Century Modern week. If you haven’t seen the previous sets you can catch those right below—what great collections they are. As I was sifting through architecture and interior design, I kept coming across illustrations via Flickr that were just magnificent. I’m sure the amount of time to create these is substantial. What I really enjoy about this illustration set is that each of them has a futuristic look and feel which is what really makes mid-century, modern. Check out more of Charles William Schridde’s work.

For fashion week some styles pour l’homme circa 1919. From the beautifully illustrated French magazine La guirlande : album mensuel d’art et de littératur (1919) which was produced in a limited edition of 800. The copy belonging to the Libraries was a gift of “the Misses Hewitt.”
Sarah and Eleanor Hewitt opened a gallery in New York City on the fourth floor of the Cooper Union, the free school for adults founded by their grandfather, Peter Cooper, in 1897 . Their gallery has since become the Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum, Smithsonian Institution, a national center for the study and appreciation of art and design.

Earlier today, we launched Storyboard, Tumblr’s new editorial project covering the creative community that makes Tumblr such an awesome place.
You may recall that time I met Michael Stipe (and took on the role of accidental photojournalist)—well, that was for Storyboard. Chris and Jessica have already published some great stories, and, without a doubt, there are going to be many more to come.
Among the handful of things I’ve worked on and designed since starting at Tumblr last month, this is the first big project to launch. I hope you guys like it!
And, oh yeah, be sure to follow Storyboard.
