it's alright
Sehun opens his eyes to a room so white that it initially blinds him, the image softening. He realizes that a glorious sun pours through the open window; long, flowing curtains catch the breeze. He feels the current on his face. He is on a feather-soft bed.
A figure stands by the wall watching the sunlight; one lone splash of color in an otherwise totally white space. When the figure turns to him, it's someone he knows, has known for a long time, sometimes even better than himself.
Mussed ebony hair and a blank face look back at him. Sehun is so stunned that he sits up, eyes wide and hopeful. "You..."
The boy studies him a bit longer and smiles a smile that reaches his eyes. He looks beautiful there against that plain white wall, beautiful and tragic.
It only takes Sehun a few moments to realize he's dreaming. He looks around, then his eyes become frantic. "Please don't leave me," he pleads.
The smile remains on the boy's lips. "You'll be okay, Sehunnie. It's alright."
Sehun feels his stomach clench, his heart speed up, his breathing become erratic. "No, you don't understand. I can't. Please. I can't take this anymore, you have to come back..."
The smile never fades from those lips; warm and maybe a touch bit sad, too. "You can make it. I'm always there, Sehunnie, even when you can't see me."
"No, stop, wait-"
Slowly the boy begins to fade, and the white world falls away, leaving Sehun to lurch awake. The Hufflepuff dorm is dark and quiet. Sehun's face is wet from tears.
He curls up in himself, deciding he's done trying to sleep tonight.
Honey, it's alright. Honey, it's alright. It's alright To be alone.
