I just finished Parade

It's getting so out of hand in my head I felt the need to rant about the chapter here a little; don't expect some deep analysis on here I'm just praising the silver case mindlessly lol. I started the game last week. At first I made a mistake because I did not do research to avoid spoilers and started The 25th Ward. I loved the 3 hours I did but stopped it to play The Silver Case.

I got hooked almost instantly, I'm thinking about it non stop for a week straight and tonight I finished Parade (the 3rd chapter). I can confidently say this game is now in my top 3 favourites of all time. The way the game handles multiple mediums and visual techniques is astonishing to me. The monochrome/regular black and white look of the chapter was surprising; and holy fuck the assembly being distorded and in monochromatic is INSANE like it's an easy trick but it works so well, and described like that we can easily think of regular analogue horror we're used to see for the last 5 years but it's obviously way before that and done way more efficiently in my opinion. Enough to fully get a grasp of the uneasiness of the room it's just brilliant.

The OSTS have become in just days a full part of my routine; the investigation music is just incredibly good I can't even describe it. I was just extra pleased but not surprised to see that its masafumi takada's insane work because he is already one of m favourite composers and his way of making music is really recognizable i admire the guy. I'm really fond of the hitman ost from 25th too that I listen on loop but i don't think its him again on it; i migt be mistaken.

I of course went mental to see that they already did the monochrome artstyle I see in 25th because I was NOT AWARE but the way the story is cut; how well written Sumio and Tetsu's relationship is written (i feel like watching adachi and dojima's ancestors) is moving to me; finally showing humanity to Tetsu who seemed really unbreakable; learning about the other units and finally getting somewhere else than akira is a weirdo was just so so cool. Still have a hard time sometimes to really enderstand everything at first glance; and I think I still miss some cues that will be answered in the next placebo; but oh my lord i finished it like 4 hours ago and I can't sleep because I just think about restarting the game. Even with AiTSF 2 years ago I did not feel that. I did not have these feelings since Persona 4. I don't think it's still comparable because P4 changed basically everything in my life as silly as it sounds, but TSC is in a good way to be as groundbreaking to me in the future. I'm so glad theres so many games tied to it even slightly.

I got really really REALLY attached to Sumio tho. I'm mad he's already arrested; because I think we see him again in the future; even if with the different last name I'm not even sure it's him?? But i got hooked on him really quick i love him as a character so much. I just have something for grey area (somewhat grey area) normie looking detectives holy fuck

it was a bad idea to name the protag as my legal name because i develop a parasocial relationship with sumio now
