Ever since he moved to Seattle, Roxas noticed how he had much more fun at parties than back at New York. Then again, his life in NY was full of straight kids wanting to be something beyond than what they actually were. The truth was that they were just a bunch of straight white kids who saw doing weed and sneaking booze out of their parents’ liquor cabinet as something cool. Roxas was the odd duck of the group to say the least. Now that he was in Seattle, hanging with his queer group, he was finally in. He was one of the guys, for the most part. There were some things about the group that hit him wrong, but at least he wasn’t out of the ordinary.
Lea had made RJ feel quite at ease. He was the leader of the group, and prior to meeting him Roxas had made his way into the group quite quickly, and now everyone was well aware of his name since he spent so much time with Lea. They had gotten close enough to throw a party, and he wasn’t surprised at all that Lea wanted to have the party in the cabin they all sort of shared. They planned everything the week during the weekend, and they knew that they would have fun with it.
Lea’s iPod was set on the speaker, and the music filled the cabin and even reached outside to where Lea was. Roxas didn’t mind that Lea was outside because he kept him and their friends (along with a few strangers) entertained by dancing happily with a drink in hand. Sometimes his creamy sweater would lift up and reveal his navel, but he obviously didn’t care. He was drinking and was having fun with the party, along with everyone else.
He was a little surprised when Lea approached him, but he could tell by the way he was touched that it was Lea. He turned his head to the side with a content smile and kissed the air between his and Lea’s face.
“Hey, handsome,” RJ chuckled out, but then his attention was grabbed by the door opening.
There was a blonde who shared many looks with him. Roxas raised a dark brow, wondering who it was, but Demyx cleared that up.
“Ventus!”
Ventus.
Roxas had to comb through every neuron in his brain in order to remember exactly why that name sounded so familiar. Then it finally hit him that Ventus was Lea’s boyfriend? Ex-boyfriend? He couldn’t remember, and he glanced at Lea as he tightened, and gave him a look that was searching for answers as if Lea could read his mind. Was Ventus a boyfriend or an ex-boyfriend? He supposed from the way that Lea tightened that Ventus was a current boyfriend, and he was the other dude.
Isa, Lea’s best friend and soon-to-be savior, swung over to Lea and RJ as an attempt to save both of them from bloodshed in result of drama. He decided that he had enough of lurking around the dark corners of the cabin, and knew his time had come. “Roxas,” he muttered coolly. “Wanna go get a drink with me?” Isa glanced at his best friend, and he placed a hand on RJ’s shoulder before guiding him away into the kitchen of the cabin to keep him out of harm’s way.
