The word brokenness may strike fear in some people, but it’s really not a bad word. God doesn’t desire to break our spirits, but He wants to break that outer shell, the flesh that prevents Him from being all He wants to be in and through us. He wants to break off things like pride, rebellion, selfishness and independence. God wants us to be totally dependent on Him, and suffering seems to bring us to that point.

So I just got back from a nice labor day weekend vacay/visit to JMU. After being there for 4 days I started to feel like I was seriously playing too much and needed to leave ASAP. But during the drive back and after I got home I realized that there was purpose in that visit.

It gave me motivation to start taking my workload seriously—I actually have sooo much to do.. It made me realize how I am so incredibly blessed with amazing friends and people in my life who I can completely be myself around. And God showed me his greatness once again—that a soul can be touched and changed just from one simple Sunday service. God moves so powerfully when we least expect it. At the time, it always seems like the situation is so small and meaningless but I’ve come to realize that those are the times when God LOVES to surprise us. Haha he’s literally like “BAM! Gotcha. Haaa & you thought I wasn’t gonna show up…” lol well that’s how God is to me at least.

Any who this weekend was much needed and I feel so full and ready to take on life. Yay! (:
