"Huh? What else can I say about her? We've known each other for as long as I can remember. I think I've spent more time with her than my own parents, now that I'm thinking about it..."

When it came to Kamille's parents, it was as much of a sore spot as it had always been. Regardless of the time that passed, the guilt and regret would stay with him. At the end of the day, they were his parents, and he was their only child.

"It's probably because of that that she enters my personal space like she owns the place. It was kind of annoying at first, but looking back... I would have become a complete mess faster if not for her. Even when I felt... things for others, she somehow respected my feelings. Fa can be confusing that way. Probably because we remind each other of home?"

This was one of the reasons why he hated being a Newtype. Everything felt and was forced onto him- whether it was his abilities being an asset in the Gryps Conflict, and feeling intense emotions towards other Newtypes. But with her, even he knew it was an exception. It happened to be something that was never meant to be.

"Everything changed after the war, though. And it's easy to say I'm still here because of her. She's been with me since the beginning, and she's the only one who stayed. After everything I've done, she still didn't give up on me." He folded his arms against his chest, as expressing honesty wasn't quite what he was accustomed to.

"It'd be stupid if I said that I wished I only had eyes for her. Like, something like war just makes things worse for everything and everyone. We were no exception. I guess what we had is a 'wrong place, wrong time' situation. But now... I can say that we are where we're meant to be."

Due to everything that had happened thus far, Kamille hardly kept track of time- unless it involved the estimated time of arrival, or updates regarding mobile suit. Nowadays, he looked at the calendar, but felt nothing whenever the days passed by. He wasn't even aware until just earlier that today was supposed to be different from the others.

"A pleasant day, huh?" Aside from Fa, no one else really knew- or bothered. Why would they? They didn't ask, he didn't tell. But he figured he should take Fa's word for it. While sortie was still possible, perhaps Kamille could wish for everyone to take it easy.

"It's been a while since a day like that has happened for any of us." Most of the time, his sentiments would stop there. But then, "We might as well make the most of it." A pause. "What do you think we should do for today, Fa?"

The days melt and become a blur, it's crazy to think about it. After the hijacking of the Mk-II, the colony had been throw into chaos. Their everyday lives ruined. After escaping, Fa had felt that the anxiety would never go away.

Time had moved fast, too fast. Then, things had come to a stop after boarding the Argama. No sunrise, no sunset. It wouldn't be odd to blame those things on why she felt the way she did.

It's either the monotony of not being able to do anything (something that Kamille wouldn't understand, Fa would think bitterly) or the anxiety that'd come with the blaring siren that signals it's time to engage the enemy.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀"I should be the one asking you that, it is your birthday," but decisions like those are often a burden. "what about we start by cutting your cake? We won't be able to have much of a party, but..."

It's a custom. A tradition. Above all... it's normalcy.

Whether it will or it won't it probably doesn't matter much, right? It's still his birthday... or, could it be that she's pushing it too hard?

The cake, then the box of pocky. Fa stops shy of knocking on Kamille's door, they were together earlier, but the kids were with them, now it'd be just the two of them.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀"Kamille," she reasons that she can pass it off as it being another gift, there's no way he'll call her annoying if she's bringing a gift! "I got something else for you."

They're stuck aboard the Argama. That's the simple and plain reality of their situation. It's a good thing that Fa never waits until the very last moment to do everything that has to be done.

And Kamille is lucky, too. The resupply schedule had shown that they'd be docking two days before his birthday, Fa had seized the opportunity to buy a small strawberry shortcake, if rationed properly, it'd be more than enough for him, the kids and herself to have a slice.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀"Well, I guess there's no point in complaining... it's better than nothing. As long as we don't have to sortie, we can at least try to have a pleasant day."

It isn't difficult to become engrossed in your own thoughts when aboard the Ptolemaios. It should go without saying, when you're confined to the halls of a ship—there isn't much more to do aside from thinking.

And Feldt does just that, think, think and think. Sometimes, she thinks that she thinks too much, not even realizing that she overthinks matters as inconsequential as how much she thinks.

She isn't like everyone else aboard, there's those who boarded the Ptolemy willingly, and then there's herself: who was born in this ship.

Maybe that's why she thinks this much when she's left to her own devices, the entire ship is something akin to her safe space, as selfish as that sounds. To Feldt, aimlessly wandering around the halls of the Ptolemaios is no different from someone relaxing in their living room.

And yet—the expression on her face is one of worry—because, of course, when you're aboard a spaceship like the Ptolemaios, when you're part of an organization like Celestial Being, when your home's purpose is greater than life itself... it can be conflicting.

Anyone would think that a realization like this would—should—be enough to send anyone on the sure path to an existential crisis, and yet... Feldt finds it in herself to smile all the same, with a melancholy as palpable as their resolution to see things through, come what may.

"I'm not alone," the words are barely audible, they're meant for her and her alone. At least until she has the courage to convey them properly to those she loves. When the time is right. When the situation calls for it. "We're all together in this. And if it's us—I'm sure we can overcome anything."

After all this time, her words still felt like home, as his lips formed a smile effortlessly. Even in what would be a short-lived conversation between them, her presence kept him grounded.. Although he hadn't lost sight of what he was fighting for, this conflict had been nothing short of cruel; taking a toll on Üso day by day. He survived another fight, but at what cost? If he kept losing loved ones, he was experiencing defeat in another harsh side of war.

"It feels like it's been a while, hasn't it?" Part of him wanted to say, Who knows? We might get time to ourselves one day. However, he felt like he didn't want to get both of their hopes up, not when the end was still nowhere in sight. Alas, the effect of war made him question his own decisions, so much so that he couldn't act upon his simplest whims anymore.

He chuckled. "Maybe since he's growing up so fast, he might be hungrier than usual." Then, a pause. "Every one of us can hardly get a break these days, too. So, well... I hope you haven't been wearing yourself out that much, Shakti." It was a step in the right direction, but it wasn't the exact question he wanted to ask her.

Kasarelia, it can mean both hello and goodbye.

Shakti doesn't dwell too much on it, because, if the does - homesickness follows right on tow. It's hard not to think about it whenever she's with Üso, because he feels like the essence of Kasarelia itself. A warm hello when they cross paths, and a bittersweet goodbye when he inevitably sorties again.

(It's more common lately, but Shakti pretends not to notice. If she does, she can't help but speak up, and it's sad if the little time they in which they can spend together is sullied by arguments.)

"It feels like it's been forever," their responsibilities have changed, them being unable to meet as much as they did before is to be expected, but the change is too sudden. To spend every day of most of your life with someone, only to have that stripped away from you so quickly makes it hard to adjust. Maybe that's why she seeks him, and that's why he seeks her in return. Even unconsciously.

"That may be the case, then, I'll get a bigger bottle and have more formula ready." It almost feels like she's doing it on purpose - and she may be, focusing on Karl rather than whatever this situation (a nightmare) they're living through is. Yet, Üso's concern gets to her all the same. "Mm," Shakti shakes her head. It feels unfair to complain, to even feel dissatisfied, when he's out there risking his life fight after fight. "This is the least I could do... I mean, Miss Marbet and the Shrike Team are amazing, you too, Üso, you're always keeping us safe, so... if there's something that I can do to help, I want to do it."

"Garrod..." It's been a week since the Vulture's surprise attack. Even with decent foresight, Newtypes aren't omnipotent. Tiffa had been, back then, away from the Freeden, leaving them unprepared for what came next.

The Double X had been, against all odds, taken. Tiffa had only found out about this (and Garrod's impromptu departure to retrieve it) after her return.

No one knew, until it was too late. And they had been forced to go from left to right, unable to search for him nor the missing Gundam.

(No one seemed to worry as much as her, but maybe it was because they knew that he wouldn't leave his beloved Tiffa all by herself. Much less now.)

"... You're close, aren't you...?"

( i finished delta last night! so, i'll be giving the mysterious venus a try. )

( also because i'm mad that delta is only in srw x-omega and have a massive urge to cross it over, in specific with 00. they both take place in AD... and keiji fujiwara (ali al-saachez) and unsho ishizuka (sergei smirnov) had roles in it. i gotta listen to my heart. )
