a lot of transmen are a lil hesitant when you say you specifically want a transman and not just saying "looking for a man, long term." as a transman, i feel like you'd only want me for a unique sex life and i only ever see you top :,(

That is a dilemma isn’t it? What does a guy do who wants to date a transman? If he posts that he wants to date a transman, many guys like you, seem to take umbrage to the idea that a guy wants to date a transgender male. They see us as fetishists and objectifiers which is true with some cisguys, looking for the “unique” sex life, but it is more nuanced for guys like me. Yes, I love front hole, I won’t deny it. However, I love men, I like making love to men and when you combine the two it is perfect for me. Is that wrong?

No, I respect guys like you who object to guys like me. If I am not your cup of tea than that is cool, we all have different interests, passions, attractions… I really like that you start with “a lot of transmen…” and I agree many do feel creepy or uncomfortable with cismen who want to specifically date transmen. However, many don’t and I can’t tell you the percentage or even begin to guess.

I respond because there are guys like me who get depressed and feel bad about themselves because some guys will call us chasers or fetishists and that hurts. I can only respond by telling other cismen like me who prefer to date transmen that there are transguys who appreciate a cisman who respects and wants a relationship with him. For every guy who objects or wants to tell us we should feel ashamed there are several transguys who appreciate cismen who would like to date them, so my advice is don’t give up but please be respectful of transmen who object. We all have to respect each other and understand there are disagreements which are legitimate and not vilify the ones we don’t agree with…

As for me only topping, that is because I am a top, like any gay relationship there is the possibility someone will be entirely a top or bottom and that has nothing to do with whether he is respectful of transmen. Again, if you’re a top or versatile, cool, we wouldn’t be a good match but that is not specific to transgenderism or my respect for you. Thank you for voicing your concern and allowing me to respond, hopefully, in a respectful manner acknowledging your uncomfortableness and respecting your opinion about this topic. Peace :)
