I know I've been... kiiinda all over the place this year, but I'm hoping to be way more consistent from now on ! Life just keeps doing that thing where it happens while you're making plans. hiiiii happy munday !! i haven't written one of these in... genuinely i think over 2 years, so i guess i'm probably way overdue for one !
my name's amanda, although i also go by sylphi, either one's fine. i'm 27, use she/her, and i run... a few blogs in isola. shez (you are here) of fire emblem fame; rin tohsaka, ritsuka fujimaru (m), hakuno kishinami, and rider (medusa) from fate; rukia kuchiki and candice catnipp from bleach; and my oldest isola muse, tsubaki yayoi from blazblue. so yeah. just a few ! i'm also married to clay/azure, who plays a few people in the group as well; ragna the bloodedge, shirou emiya, and ike to name a few !
i've been writing since i was ten, writing on tumblr since i was fourteen, and writing in isola since not long after it opened. i've seen a lot, and my muse list has always been somewhat sporadic (along with my activity haha oops <3), so odds are you might've seen me around and not even known it !
i have an english degree and was working towards being a teacher, but my priorities changed completely when the pandemic started, and now i plan on going back to school for nursing. my schedule will probably change a lot over the coming year(s) as i work on getting the funds i need, and then the actual courses themselves. a stray kitten also wandered into our yard the day after halloween, and he's ours now ! his name is ash because of his grey fur (we're very original), and he's just turned five months old. needless to say, my free time has basically been nonexistent. i've never had a cat before, i had no clue kittens had so much energy... phew...
i have a twitter, but i try to keep it private for the most part. i'm not entirely closed off to following ppl, i just can be selective ! honestly the best place to contact me is probably discord, and you can easily find me via the isola server !

Shez immediately begins to talk excitedly with her hands, visible eye alight as she recounts the general gist. ❛ Let's see, how to put this without giving too much away... Well, the heroine finds out she's the heir to a huge fortune ! But before she can touch any of the money, she and six other potential heirs have to compete against each other in order to figure out what — or who — killed the head of the family. ❜

⠀⠀⠀⠀SHE'S lost track of how long she's been wandering this 'crystal funhouse,' but it's sure starting to feel like a maze. She may have slipped through the shadows once or twice already... but last time she came dangerously close to knocking over some ice sculptures in her haste, so she's since thought better of it. That, of course, only leaves exploring the old-fashioned way. And it's starting to feel way too cold for the old-fashioned way ! … Not that it stopped her from buying some shaved ice along the way.
⠀⠀⠀⠀❛ I guess I could just cut my losses and try again another time. It's not like it's far from my place... but I'm not much of a quitter, and I'm starting to think I'll hear these chimes in my sleep if I don't find out what they are. And how did these even get in here ? ❜ She mumbles to herself with more than a little exasperation, having stepped right on another of those weird flowers as she rounded yet another corner. The pollen's pesky, that's for sure; her boots and calves are pretty sporadically dusted as is. All this is to say that when she does round that corner, only to see a ghost emerging from a hallway just a little ahead, she's ill-equipped to respond.
⠀⠀⠀⠀The heels of her boots all but skid along the ground, having come to such an abrupt stop. It's very much unlike her, but she freezes completely in place. Hell, she's lucky she didn't drop her shaved ice. This is her first time encountering someone who shouldn't be walking around anymore — much less someone that she put in the ground. It unsettles her more than she thought it would. … No, it unsettles her just the right amount. It's just like all the clichés in the books she's read; for the third time in her life, her blood's running cold. Of course, what comes out of her mouth does absolutely nothing to betray any of this — and certainly not the rapid variations of 'fight' and 'flight' that flit through her head in rapid succession.

⠀⠀⠀⠀'EXTREME Skiing' feels like something of an understatement. Most would conjure up an image of a comically steep slope, or perhaps a particularly intimidating mountain. For Shez, though, the siren call of jumping between floating isles was simply irresistible — especially when her powers were in full swing here ! It was like an added layer to the game; she'd fling herself haphazardly down a sharp ramp or improbable slope, let herself free-fall long enough to try and do a few tricks, and then simply slide through the shadows. Undetected by most, she'd all but dance her way down to safety. Ninety percent of the time, it worked every time without incident.
⠀⠀⠀⠀Except now, when she finds herself sticking the landing and spraying a poor woman with a wildly disproportionate amount of snow.
⠀⠀⠀⠀❛ Oh — oops ! Sorry, guess I overshot that one... ❜ She's talking quickly, sheepishness practically oozing from her voice, while her hands are busy trying to loosen her scarf from beneath her shoulderplate. Shez moves as if to dab with the scarf herself, but seems to think better of it — handing it over while she busies herself with removing the giant clumps that settled on the woman's shoulders.

Honestly, I can’t remember the last time I wore a dress... but if it looked like that, I bet even I could pull it off. … You’d probably need to figure out what’s special about them first, though, in case they really are a curse. He has some fleeting familiarity with berry sauce… But he may have to try and see for himself before he can fully judge the outcome. She seems to be rather fond of the idea, so that’s at least one good sign.
“I’ll have to try that some day… … Hm— Just now realized I haven’t introduced myself.” He may as well try to make some acquaintances during his stay in the city. This is definitely a situation where making connections will help in the long run. Taking a seat across the other, he rests an elbow on the table before starting his introduction. “I’m Ike, a mercenary… I came from the continent of Tellius, before I wound up here.”
SHE felt a flash of embarrassment upon realizing she hadn’t introduced herself either, but quickly brightened — a fellow mercenary, huh ? She crosses one leg over the other as she leans back in her seat, jerking a thumb at her chest.
❛ Really ? Never heard of Tellius, but... The name’s Shez, fellow merc. I wound up here from Fódlan, which you’ve probably not heard of, either. There’s a surprising amount of mercenaries here ! … Well, you’re only the second one I’ve met. But it’s weird it’s happened twice ! ❜
❛ Heard there was some game with these... ❜ SHE tosses the package in her hand a few times before opening it with a flick of the fingernail, eyes practically sparkling with determination. ❛ What kinda game ? Seeing how many you can fit in your mouth at once ? Easy. I can do ‘em all ! ❜

Granted, Archimedes was her place of residence and all, but she’s done her fair share of exploring since she got here — and she’s very familiar with how rowdy the Underside can get.
She cocks her hip to show off the wooden sword ‘sheathed’ there, which... admittedly isn’t that reassuring. ❛ I got a few tricks up my sleeve. I’m just glad I don’t have to worry about my back as much — and I got yours, too. I wonder if you’ve gotten any stronger since you wound up here... ❜

Ah, so that’s how it is… Ike had already noticed many stalls up until this point, but the only food spotted was firmly in the sweets variety. Given the tumultuous amount of changes he’s needed to take and adapt to… sweet food just wouldn’t cut it. But it seems the stranger is willing to share some of her bounty, though Ike is rather hesitant to take the offer.
“I see… That’s kind of you, but— you did manage to get your share first. It wouldn’t feel right to take someone else’s cut without earning it.” Instead, his pride is content with waiting for the vendor in question to prepare a fresh round of food. … They’ll just end up with the same problem once Ike comes by, but is it really a problem for a vendor to make so many sales?
❛ You sure ? ❜ SHE extends the offer, but only for a matter of seconds. She can be plenty generous, but when it comes to food, that generosity is definitely time-sensitive. ❛ Well, suit yourself, ❜ she quickly amends with a shrug, resuming without further ado. Still, she isn’t one to turn down conversation with a complete stranger — especially if they seem to have similar tastebuds.
❛ Y’know, this kinda reminds me of this one recipe I really liked back home. You roast a pheasant, right ? And then you simmer this berry sauce and drizzle it over the meat. I didn’t think sweet stuff would go well with meat, but the berry’s kinda... a noncommittal sweet. It tiptoes around the sweet, so it just works ! ❜
