Shadowhunters Continued is a roleplay server over on Discord, where we marry the books and the show together to create one, cohesive story for fans of both types of media. We have multiple AU’s for you to explore and partake in. The stories we create together can range from canon-adjacent, to stories completely separate from the original narrative.
We welcome canon characters from all across the Shadowhunter universe, as well as original characters (OC’s) that you love and create all by yourself. Need a space to be creative? I wouldn't mind if someone made an OC who is his sire. You can kind of get the gist of their relationship through his backstory, but basically he was her first turn, so they're really connected, despite his animosity towards her. Characteristics: Wears red lipstick, (looks like Keira Knightley ??), identifies as female, is a vampire, is determined to stay in Thad's life. I would also be down to a romance with them, after they work through their issues. If we vibe and everything, ofc. Character chemistry is important of course, but so is Mun chemistry. And I'll probably talk your ear off about them if we get that far into it.

Tether is a new rune given to Shadowhunters by the Angel Raziel. It appeared to Clary in a dream-vision around the same time many of the dead Nephilim started to come back to life, all of them with that rune on their chests, right in the middle.
Not much is known about it yet, but the vision did explain that Tether was a symbol of a second chance - to fight for the greater good one more time. However, it also contained a warning; those marked with this rune, upon their death, will not find rest in the afterlife, instead remaining in the mortal world, trapped forever, sucking the life out of everything around them - most likely as ghosts, as the description fits their nature.

This category is where all the romantic threads take place. They’re one-on-one and can be requested at any time.There is a list of ships over in the announcement channel for you to look at.
Please keep in mind this rule:
“Those couples exist in the main world of our server and might also appear in our AU roleplays and one on ones - but they’re not set in stone there. If everyone involved agrees, people from those ships can have different ones in certain stories. If you’re interested in that, all you need to do is ask.“
Platonic Threads:
This category is where all of the platonic threads take place. They’re also one-on-one and can be requested at any time! These types of threads can take place in the main verse for story movement, character bonding, etc - or they can even take place in a different AU altogether.
Closed Group Threads:
These are closed threads that only a handful of people can join and participate in - not everyone. Usually, there are only around 3-5 people involved, and you must get permission to join.

The Cult of Mammon
Faeries are dying, and it’s up to everyone to find out why. Shadowhunters, Downworlders, and even Mundanes all join the fight to solve the mystery, and watch how things unfold. Maybe we’ll run into a secret mastermind whose sole purpose is destruction… or maybe we’ll run into idiots fueled by their greed. Either way, you don’t want to miss out.
Old Faces
Shadowhunters are showing up all over the world with a strange rune on their chests. The catch? Some of them have died over a hundred years ago. Clary Fray might just hold all the answers.
OPEN THREADS:
Party At Magnus’ Loft
Magnus is throwing a party, and your character is invited. Feel free to jump into all of the chaos. Maybe you’ll find someone to make out with; maybe you’ll have a nice chat; or maybe you’ll be held up at knife point by a bunch of angry Shadowhunters. There’s only one way to find out.
Role Reversal AU
In this AU, your character is reimagined in a different light. Is your character originally a Shadowhunter? Not here they aren’t. They’re now a Downworlder. The same goes for everyone. Warlocks are now Shadowhunters, or vampires, etc. You may freely choose which species you’d like your current character to be, they just cannot be what they are originally.
Hogwarts AU
Welcome to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. This AU takes place years after the war. It’s a peaceful world now, and your character is a part of a new generation. It’s up to you to make them a student or a professor. Sort them into the correct house and then you’re free to write!
Soulmate AU
Does your character feel incomplete, like they’re missing their other half? Never fear. In this AU, your character will meet The One™. This is not a mundane AU. Handprints, footprints, or general marks will appear on the skin of your character wherever their soulmate will first touch them. If you have a giant foot print on your face, chances are your soulmate knocked your lights out. Pair up with someone and start writing!
YouTube AU
Your character is a Youtuber! 😎 This is a mundane AU. Pick out a channel name, a theme for your channel, and let one of the mods know. As soon as you do this, you can start making videos and start commenting on other character’s videos.
1.) Be kind and considerate. We’re all human or were human once (Except for Faeries-), and we’re all just trying to navigate the Shadow World to the best of our abilities.
2.) No bullying of any kind will be tolerated. This means no attacking people; calling other people nasty or hateful names; and no harassment; etc.
3.) Trolls will be banned.
4.) There will be NO ship shaming. People have different tastes in ships, and that’s okay.
5.) No harassing someone for personal information inside the server or over DM. If this happens, you’re out. If someone is doing this to you, please contact a mod so that the mun can be dealt with. Everyone should respect the privacy of others.
6.) If you continuously cause OOC drama, then you’ll be kicked. This is a safe place, where people come to roleplay. We’re not babysitters. (IC Drama is welcome, though.)
7.) This is a SFW server. That means no NSFW roleplaying allowed. Characters can kiss and make-out, but anything further than that must be taken to DM’s.
8.) Please don’t argue with a mod over the rules. They are set in place for a reason, and we’re just trying to make sure things run as smoothly as possible.

Roleplaying Rules:
1.) The minimum length for a reply is eight sentences. This rule will be applied to public sessions. Feel free to write long as you want, though. The more the merrier!
2.) You can have up to two characters. (If you’re active enough, then you could possibly have a third.)
3.) If you’re inactive for three weeks without notice, and you have a character, there’s a chance you will be kicked from the server. (We’ll message ahead of time and try to get in touch. We understand if life gets busy and people get sick, just let us know so we can save your character for you.)
4.) If you’re inactive for two weeks without notice, and you don’t have a character, you will be kicked. See rule number three for more details.
5.) You can change or drop characters twice. After two times, you’ll need to wait 6 months. Please choose your OC’s and characters carefully.
6.) Events are now time-sensitive. If you participate in any Event, then you have one week to reply. If you miss your turn, then another player is allowed to go before you, unless you discuss it and they agree to wait. If you continue to miss your turns, then you’ll be written off. (Ex: Knocked out, had to leave, etc.)
This does not include AU’s, closed groups, or 1x1’s. Only Events.

OC Specific Rules:
1.) Your OC cannot be OP.
2.) All OC’s get looked over before they can be verified and played with.
3.) Your OC can be related to a canon character, but only if the mun in control of said canon character agrees.
4.) Special cases like Magnus, Clary, Tessa, Simon, Jace, Jonathan, and Klaus can’t be replicated.
No hybrids, demon/Shadowhunter offspring, stories that resemble Clary, and no long lost experiments of Valentine Morgenstern that resulted in extra abilities. (Ex. Clary, Jace, and Jonathan.)
Daylighters are rare.
Young warlocks aren’t immediately powerful, either, and they have a special ability or two, not all. The children of powerful Demons usually die as babies, as well. (Magnus was the special case.)
5.) Just keep your OC realistic to the settings of the universe. No flying mermaid angels that have the power of GOd and animE on their side oKAY?

Rules Regarding 1x1's:
1.) You are allowed to use other characters as NPCS.
2.) If the character you want to use as an NPC is taken, then you need to ask permission from the character’s mun. This isn’t necessary for brief appearances such as: another character hopping in for a moment to move the story along.
Character A had always had a small crush on Character B. They knew that they were terrible at hiding it, especially to Character C. Beside Character A, character C gave a little wink, and nudged Character A forward. Character A ran smack dab into the back of Character B. “I’m sorry!” Character A squealed, before turning and flashing Character C a glare. They looked back up at Character B to find them smiling. “Character C is an idiot, heh.”
In this Example, Character A and Character B are being RP’d, while Character C is an NPC. This is a brief appearance. For longer appearances over multiple posts, permission is needed.
3.) Even if your RP is set in a completely different universe than the main verse, permission is still needed.
4.) Anything an NPC character says in a 1x1 is not in compliance with the main verse, or the mun of said character. They’re not to be referenced in public RP’s.
5.) There are established ships in the main verse, so bringing an NPC into a 1x1 just to romance them, or have a past/present relationship isn’t allowed. However, if the mun of the NPC character and the mun of the other character in the established ship consent, it’s allowed. (Past canon relationships are okay.)
6.) Muns hold every right to say no.
