Syoin Kajii. from the series of Nami. 2004.

“Nami” (meaning “wave”) is a series of photos taken around the shores of Sado Island in Japan. Syoin Kajii is a Buddhist monk photographing waves by staying in the water or going down on the rocky seaside. Sometimes he watches the water patiently for 5-6 hours to capture the right moment.
