Welcome to the blog! I'm shakingparadigm! I prefer not to use other names, so please refer to me as paradigm or para for short! I go by they/them exclusively :)

I make art for, discuss, share and write about ALIEN STAGE, my current interest! I'd be very glad to meet and share my enjoyment with others who enjoy it, too.

My inbox is always open and I'm happy to receive thoughts about ALNST! Usually life (+ my executive dysfunction) is beating my ass, so sometimes it takes me a while to answer asks. hi, sorry for the really random post

recently my circumstances haven't been great and have worsened like exponentially due to the recent earthquakes that hit the philippines so i've been contemplating on what i can do currently

this is mostly musing as of now but would anyone be interested if i happened to open art commissions? these are all the past examples i have on hand rn (full disclosure i haven't produced anything decent in months 💀) but you can see my art tag for more examples

This comic is heartwrenching in such a unique way. Unlike the other lengthy comics, it doesn't culminate in Till's death, but rather focuses on his life. The traces of shared love that he carried with him, and the traces that he himself left behind. It's so full of warmth despite the cold and detached wording being used ("product" as a title for a child). Regardless of the cruel and inhuman circumstances, Till was raised with love, he was surrounded by love in the midst of his abuse and was so full of love that all of his art and music are filled with the life of it. A mural of children together in a true garden, no smooth rounded trees or boxed-in sky wall. Something real and genuine, but most importantly something that he wished to share with others. The trace he left behind.

Forgive me for focusing on the incredibly minor and insignificant details of this comic. I'm trying to avoid the main anguish for now.

But I love how this shows them in casual clothing! Usually they're only portrayed in standard Anakt uniforms. Ivan's black turtleneck is a classic staple, but I love how Mizi and Sua's outfits are reminiscent of their childhood dresses in MIZISUA (Mizi's pink and green collar, Sua's ruffles)

honestly kind of confused as to why the rebels thought it would be smart to go through with the rescue so unprepared. in ROUND 5 it made sense, the rebels looked formidable and plentiful, they even had smoke to cloud the arena and the other members are seen taking control of the area. surely for the FINAL and most anticipated round of alien stage they should have pulled pulled out all the stops?

Thanks to everyone who informed me! Upon further inspection (and confirmed by the patreon), it wasn't supposed to be a rescue mission in the first place.

Still, I do wonder why they decided to follow through without any backup (Dewey and Isaac are seemingly on the outside? Or at least not involved in the main area)... even if they were just collecting data. Considering the chaos of the previous rounds, it'd be expected that ALNST would increase security. It's even worse to consider that Hyuna and Mizi are already highly well-known and targeted individuals who would definitely get roped into something more extreme should they get caught.

I'd say it would've been smarter for literally anyone else to execute the mission, but then again I don't think Mizi would've allowed herself to sit idly by while her only remaining friends die one by one onstage. Even if they didn't originally plan on a rescue, I think she'd still want to be there. And if Mizi really wanted to go, then undoubtedly Hyuna would come with her.
