learn to forgive yourself. for not starting sooner, for your flaws, for your past mistakes. we all grow as people, and we shouldnât be defined by our past, but by what we learn from it.
may the last two months of 2018 be filled with pleasant plot twists, spontaneous fun, and good vibes.
When your head hits the pillow tonight, remind yourself that youâve done a good job. You are headed down your path at your own pace, and with every obstacle you are trying your utmost best. Be patient with yourself, and remember that big things are achieved not all at once, but one day at a time.
A lil vid of me studying on a Sunday arvo. Excuse my ugly self. Hope this gives you some study motivation. đ
I could use that.
Studyblr accent challenge!
Here are the questions that Iâll use. Iâll tag some people when I post the actual audio post, linking to this post so you can see the questions. I think this could be a really fun way to get to know each other and listen to different accents! Of course, anyone who doesnât feel comfortable doing this can just ignore the tag. AND you can do it in multiple languages! Iâll do it in Spanish and English.
What is your name?
Where are you from?
What is your major?
Why did you make a studyblr?
In what ways has making a studyblr helped you?
What is your biggest accomplishment in your personal and/or academic life so far? And a mistake/something you regret?
Do you have any special interests?
Choose a book and read a passage from it.
Reblog this if you want to be tagged when I do it and we can all have fun listening to each other and getting to know each other!
I think I can get over my shyness to do this!Â
students as months of the year
january: fresh journals, black and white notes, bullet journals filled with motivational quotes, cold brew coffee, loves writing letters, finishes everything on time, a daydreamer, seems laid back but really theyâre stressed about everything
february: doodles in the margins of notes, the person who lends you their pens, sloppy handwriting, loves motivational speeches and classical music, finishes easy assignments early but writes their essay the night before its due,
march: straight Aâs, study playlists, the teachers favorite, color coded notes, everyone thinks theyâre naturally smart (but really theyâre spending every night studying), forgets to eat sometimes, hasnât slept for what feels like years
april: open windows, listening to the rain and thunder, tea pots full of earl grey, a functionally messy desk, fairy lights, always losing their pens, a huge nerd, afraid to raise their hand in class in case their answer is wrong
may: cramming for tests, lives in the library, highlighters and sticky notes everywhere, drinks espresso, would definitely consider bringing their coffee pot to school, messy desk, if an assignment is due at 9:00 theyâll submit it at 8:59
june: late nights, smoothies for breakfast, hanging out with friends, takes notes on their laptop, minimalist, organized, says theyâre studying but theyâre actually on studyblr, tries to study everything at once and gets distracted
july: staying up late to read, learning new languages, focuses on the learning and not the grade, watches documentaries for fun, loves the classics, owns a thousand pens, takes studyspo pictures, hundreds of unread emails,
august: stationery shopping, getting ahead in class, iced drinks, spending weekends with friends, takes very little notes but does well in class anyways, a relaxed personality, healthy snacks, the master of self care
september: a morning person, new pens and folders, a perfectionist, audio records classes and re-writes notes, over works themselves, loves the smell of new books, competitive, âiâm gonna fail!â but ends up getting Aâs and Bâs
october: chai lattes in travel mugs, will study for three days straight and then not study for a week, snacking in class, uses washi tape and stickers, sleeps for eight hours but is tired anyways, terrible at accepting compliments
november: gratitude journals, mental health days, the baristas at their local cafe know their name because theyâre always studying there, study groups, loves to travel but never travels, cinnamon in their drinks, trouble sleeping, sweet smiles
december: hot chocolate, wrapped in a fluffy blanket, says they donât care about grades but panics when they get less than a B, to-do lists, tutors their friends, watches movies in their free time, vanilla candles
Wisdom Wednesday
As someone who hasnât always gotten straight Aâs let alone straight Bâs throughout high school let me give you some advice.Â
You Are Going To Have So Much Success In 2018 (pass it on)
I nearly scrolled past, but I got nervous
Notes upon Notes, gotta love Exam week. 13th August 2018 10:09am AEST
We use art to decorate space and music to decorate time.
A group of rough looking boys walked past me today and all I heard of their conversation was âheâs got that anxiety disorder bro so I went with him so heâd be more comfortableâ and it made me realise the world isnât all that bad
#this is team skull
The pet store I worked at had a pen with rabbits near the front door. On every side of the pen were huge signs saying âYou can pet me, but donât pick me up!â One day two absolutely huge guys came in and one immediately reaches into the pen to grab a rabbit. Before i could say anything his friend grabbed his arm and asked him âdid you see the sign?â He said âyeah! it says that you can pick them up but donât pet them!â Then he went quiet for a moment and softly said âI didnât read it right did I?â And his friend just puts his arm on his shoulder and said âits ok, i know youâve got that thing where words get mixed up. Let just pet these cute lil shitsâ And I still havenât gotten over that interaction.
I was walking my dog through Boston bc he likes the likes car rides. Heâs a little thing tbh we call him short and long. So this huge scary man with a full beard approaches me like âhey can my buddy and I pet your dog? He gets nervous around dogs but yourâs is so small I think itâs a good place to start.â Ofc I was like âyes heâs very friendly!â So this guy brings his equally big friend over and they sit on the floor while this man looks terrified of my tiny dog so big man number one asks âcan I pick him up?â And i say yes so he picks him up and puts him on man number twoâs lap and man number two is abt to freak out and his friend straight up just goes âhey man, itâs okay just relax Iâd never let anything hurt you. Heâs a good boy.â Iâll never forget it ever bc I know that man looked at me (5'3 , glasses, probably wearing a sweater vest) and my dog (kinda goofy looking little thing) and was like âah yes the two least intimidating living things Iâve seen in Boston all day heâll feel relaxed around themâ and went out of his way to help his friend. It makes me so happy
A good post, pure.
Another adorable story has been added.
can I have these posted right under the politics section in the newspaper? I feel like we need that kinda positivity rn.
9/4/18: 99/100 days of productivity (!!)
I guess I got a fair bit done in the end, even though it doesnât feel like I did enough⊠Iâm a little annoyed at myself for doing basically nothing all afternoon, but I guess I made up for it in the eveningâŠ
- I reviewed some chemistry class notes while having breakfast
- Some piano practice đ¶
- Violin practice - I recorded myself playing a new piece (Wieniawskiâs âLĂšgendeâ) and it was really useful to go back over that and work on specific areas, which Iâll carry in with tomorrow! Iâm in love with the middle section of the piece⊠itâs just quite tricky as itâs a whole page double stopped! đđ»
- I did the second half of a maths past paper from a few days ago
- I reread (again) part of the section of the Aeneid Iâm studying, to get more familiar with the details of the text đ«
- I made an essay plan for the philosophy core theme based on a text that was in the textbook. Iâm quite happy with it actually as I now understand one of the topics much better and it was easier than I thought - so with a bit of luck the exam shouldnât be too bad for that essay! đ
- Texture notes on Brandenburg 2 đ¶
- A quick Cicero translation for Latin - although I donât think it was very accurate Iâm pleased that I managed to do it pretty quickly!
- Finally, I finished off some further reading notes for Eclogues and after that reviewed some Latin vocab.
