IT'S HERE!  IT'S HAPPENED!  IT'S DONE!!

My first demos that I stressed the eff out over all summer are finally up and available to the public!  24 hrs in, and I've already had over 550 plays!  

I've also already had my first review/local press from the esteemed Boston music blog, Vanyaland.

I am now operating under the moniker Per Aspera, which is Latin for "through hardships" (taken from the phrase "per aspera ad astra").   Yes, it's very emo.  But so am I.   :-)

Forgot to share some newly snipped up tshirt hacks! …. This one I Frankensteined together from a couple tees designed and pressed by Boston’s own AudioCotton (literally some of the softest and best fitting shirts I’ve worn). The back is cut from the shirt they did to showcase bands representing Boston at SXSW, this year. The meat & potatoes being the special “We Are Boston” shirts pressed specifically to raise funds for OneFundBoston (to aid victims of the Boston Marathon bombings).

FOR BOSTON, tonight at T.T. The Bear's Place in Cambridge:

A benefit show for the victims of yesterday's Boston Marathon bombings, to benefit Mass General Hospital. Music from Mean Creek, The Field Effect, Endation, Earthquake Party, Dan Nicklin of Oldjack, Cameron Keiber of the Beatings/Eldridge Rodriguez, Ruby Rose Fox, and more TBA. Doors at 8pm, it's 18+, and it's Pay What You Can. 100% of the door will be donated to MGH on behalf of the Boston music scene.

SO proud of my city for pulling this together so last minute.  So many amazing local bands playing at TT's tonight at a moments notice.  Plus an insane amount of raffle prizes (including tickets to sold out concerts, gift certificates, a FREE online Summer course from Berklee School of Music!!).  Admission is *pay what you can*, and 100% of the door plus band merch AND tips from the bar going straight to help the victims being treated at Massachusetts General Hospital.

I will remember this anytime I ever feel down on this city.   This community is my home, and these people are my family and we look out for each other.

300 plays (just Deserts)

A bunch of people (mostly friends, but some strangers) hit PLAY on my amateurly recorded demo 300 MOTHERFUCKIN TIMES, Y’ALL!!  That’s just malarkish haberdashery to me!  …And, because I’m fairly certain I don’t actually know 300 people, that definitely means that a lot of those people chose to hit “Play” multiple times.  Which, if you think about it, is WAY more flattering than having 300 randos listen to it once and never again. 

Even though a very small percentage of these people actually know this tumblr exists, I’m still going to use this forum to say “Holy shit, thank you” (mainly because I’m fairly certain most of my Facebook friends are sick to death of hearing me talk about my music)……   so yeah…

You're awesome!  Thank youuuu!!!  I'm definitely on it, haha.  ...still a bit of a n00b when it comes to this stuff, so my process is pretty slow-going.  But either way I will keep posting updates and any new stuff as it comes.  Thanks again for the boost of confidence  ;-)
